Tops have been re-varnished for durability. Elsewhere the original finish is very well preserved. This punch paper is in excellent condition with no stains. Tears or missing thread. It is beautifully done in small neat stitches using silk thread. Who ever stitched this piece took pain taking time and pride to do it. It is framed in a solid walnut frame which is put together with cut nails and all the corners are tight. Victorian Eastlake Dresser Mirror Spoon Carved Walnut For sale is(1) antique 1880’s Eastlake style dresser and mirror done in walnut with chip carved detail The dresser measures 76 inches high overall x 38.5 inches wide x 18 inches deep. The height of the dresser chest is 34 inches The three drawers are 7 inches deep on the inside and each has the original lock mechanism with brass keyhole insert. Each drawer has the traditional Eastlake chip carving detail. All the drawers are dovetailed and have the original bottoms. The hardware is the classic brass teardrop and I believe these are not original but correct for the period. There are 4 wooded casters on the bottom and appear to be replacements. The swivel mirror measures 27 inches wide x 21 inches high and has the original mirror. The pictures show a sheet to cut down on the reflection. ... moreA carved detail on the center top of the mirror section matches the lower carvings. The color of the dresser is a medium dark brown walnut. The finish is original and the finish on top of the dresser is quite excellent and hand rubbed. There is the expected wear on high spots and rounding of the edges. Minimal nicks and scratches that could be hidden with a good scratch cover. This lovely rocking chair was made in America circa 1865-1880. It is considered an American Eastlake Style Rocking Chair. It is in very good condition and quite rare. Underneath the chair, the piece is marked"CA" hand written in big black letters. It is possible this rocker was made in United Kingdom in the four year time period between when the Eastlake style was introduced there before it was known in America. As I stated. The style of this rocking chair is in Eastlake. In the last half of the 19th Century, a reform movement spread through United Kingdom and the United States. The new simpler style began with an idea by a man who was an architect and arts writer, not a furniture maker. 1800s Eastlake folding nursing sewing rocking chair w Bird & Floral Tapestry
You are looking at a folding Eastlake rocker. Wood type(oak, walnut, cherry? not pine) This type of rocker has been called a sewing chair, a nursing chair and a slipper rocker. It has beautifully detailed carving in the wood. It may have been reupholstered and/or restained at some point. The fabric is in good condition with no rips or tears. It does not smell and has no stains. The back is carved ornamental spindles and the trim has some reeding in it. See photos 9& 10 which show the main"imperfections" in the chair including small chips and bubbles in the stain. This is a really old piece, I believe it is from the mid to late 1800's. The chair folds up and is smaller in size. I do not know the maker or exact date this chair was made. It is antique and will not be perfect. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. Somewhere along it's travels the original drawer pulls were replaced with these reproduction brass Chippendale styled ones. It has recently been hand painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. THE BED: A crest of star burst carvings extend the entire length of the headboard beneath this is a slightly curved panel with incised carvings of leaves and flowers typical of the Eastlake period. The foot board has the same star burst and beehive style carvings on the legs. The rails have triangular shaped ends. The rails have been repaired and have been reinforced with metal braces on the inside. They are sturdy and this does not present an issue~see photos. The measurements are: headborad 74 inches high, footboard 32 inches high, 56 1/2 inches wide and 78 inches long. The mattress area is 53 1/2 inches by 73 inches. The weight is about 30 lbs. THE DRESSER: Offering ... morethe same carved top as the bed. The dresser also has the original beveled mirror which can be tilted down if needed. There are small holes on each side of the mirror which have been plugged at some point. All of the drawer fronts have the wonderful incised carving, original pulls and key escutcheons. The locks are intact but we do not have a key. The wood top is in excellent condition as is the entire chest. The measurements are 80 inches tall, 43 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The mirror is 23 inches tall and 29 inches wide. The weight is 50 lbs. THE WASHSTAND: This piece offers great storage with the same original pulls and incised carving. The measurements are 28 inches high. 30 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep. The weight is 25 lbs. This is a very nice sturdy set and at some time has been slightly white washed which can be seen if you look closely at the pictures. Dresser has 4 drawers with dovetail construction and poplar secondary wood. Walnut chest is 52 in. high, 32 in. wide and 21 in. deep. This walnut Eastlake stand is in excellent condition. The shelves's surfaces may be an older finish but the remainder of the stand seems to be in the original finish with a great patina. The entire stand is sturdy and tight in construction. The two lower shelves provide additional space for display. All three shelves have great skirts with ample Eastlake influence in the numerous incised carvings on the wood. Early Antique Victorian Eastlake Incised Carved Foot Stool Foot Rest 1800's
Early 1800s antique footstool. This piece has great lines and carvings. The wood is so dark black with patina or paint I can not tell what type of wood it is. The carvings and details are fabulous. It is in good condition for its age. One of the bottom of the feet is chipped but can only be seen if you flip it over. There are springs in it which does add weight to the piece. The upholstery has some issues of wear on top and I am not sure what is under the material. It seems to be easily Recoverable. Antique, original entry door set made by"Norwich" of Norwich, CT during the late 1880's This set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumb turn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze face plate, 2 working keys and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All bronze parts are solid, heavy cast bronze- not stamped or plated iron. We found this set with the 4 parts with it. so we added a period rosette, keyhole cover, and thumb turn from our collection to complete this set. Norwich" was a smaller company during its time, and now its very difficult to find parts for one of these sets. All bronze parts are embellished with lovely aesthetic(East lake) style details. At the point of salvage, some parts were painted, and all were heavily tarnished canceling ... morethe beauty of the sets design. Since then, we have cleaned and polished all bronze parts to a brilliant shine. The set is in excellent condition with no breaks,cracks,or heavy scratches. It stands 33” tall and the top surface measures 40-1/2” wide and 19” deep. The top drawer front is 6” x 34-1/2” and the lower two drawer fronts measure 8” x 34-1/2” The paint is not recent. You are bidding on a very clean vintage(early 1960s) King Cleveland 600 trumpet. Serial Number 269697 was made between 1960-1965 according to King serial number listings. This horn looks almost new. With very few minor scratches, no discernible dings or dents. As the successor to the King Superior Intermediate trumpet, it was labeled as a student horn, but with all the qualities of its renowned predecessors. This horn is rich in tone with a bright sound and terrific note slotting on the high end above the staff. This"Made in the USA" trumpet has more value for the money than the newer Japanese and Chinese horns in today's marketplace. This is an antique clock- dating from the 1870s or 1880s. In the Egyptian Revival style with incised carvings. The clockworks themselves are marked Unghans with a big letter J on the underside. This is contained within a star. Crystal is missing on the clock. According to the owner the clock is either German or Austrian. Here is an antique Victorian Eastlake picture frame. The frame measures approximately 12 3/4" x 14 5/8" and will hold an 8" x 10" photo. This frame includes an antique photo of 4 women. This has a very nice carved decorations. The inside and outside is painted gold. There are some dark spots and some tiny chips in the gold paint/plaster. There are some small chips in the black paint/plaster. These are mostly at the corners of the frame. The back appears to have the original wood backing. This shelf is in excellent condition. There are no missing or broken parts. The entire piece is beautifully hand craved with fine details which was so typical of this era. The fruit and nuts are reminiscence to the Black Forest designs and it is trimmed in ebony and gold. It is made from solid walnut, no veneer. It is quite large measuring 19" high, 12" deep by 16" wide and there are 2 brass hooks on the back where it is mounted to the wall. It is guaranteed to be original, not a reproduction. Good old vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft reproduction stuff they make in modern hinges. Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900's. These have a nice sharp. Clean and fancy casting. The pattern is also on the back of the hinge and shows when the door is closed. The hinges were sprayed with clear acrylic lacquer finish. This clear finish has scratch and water resistance. They are 5" long from steeple tip to steeple tip and they are 3" wide. The pins are loose and removable.
