Napoleon's own decorations were captured by the Prussians and were displayed in the Zeughaus(armory) In Berlin until 1945. Today. They are in Moscow, Russia) This portrait is of particularly high quality as is the gilding and enamelling of the surrounding border of the plate. This listing is for an excellent set of 2 Salad/Snack plates by Mikado China. They are in the"Dresden Pattern" and were made in Occupied Japan between 1945-1952. Most if not all look like they have never been used. The salad plate is 7 5/8 Inches in diameter and for their age they are in excellent condition. There is no chips. No cracks, no crazing, no utensil marks and no other defects that I can see. The Dresden Pattern is a solid White with beautiful Bouquets of Flowers with Gold Scrolls, Gold Trim and Gold Verge. 1893 FRANZISKA HIRSCH DRESDEN LIDDED/COVERED FOOTED CHOCOLATE CUP & SAUCER NR
Sorry. But due to eBay policies, I will not ship internationally- U.S.A only! I could not find this exact item. So I am not sure what to call it, and will describe it in as much detail as possible. This Dresden, Germany, porcelain cup and saucer, with lid and three feet, was handpainted by Franziska Hirsch, circa 1893. The cup is very shallow, and could also be considered a bowl, but I would not know a purpose for it. The straight handle is shaped and decorated as a serpent. It is ridged on the bottom for two fingers, and on the top for the thumb, making holding it feel secure. The matching saucer has no inner ring, so it could be considered a small dish. The pair is in excellent condition, with absolutely no problems, except for a very tiny bit of gold loss on the lid finial. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, stains, or wear. I could ... morenot find anything similar, so I will assume it is very rare. Hirsch used the gold flower mark to cover the origian maker. In this case, at least the saucer was produced by the Hermann Ohme Porcelain Manufactory, Niedersalzbrunn, Silesia, Germany. The Germany name was used mainly after 1891, following the passing of the Mckinley Tariff Act. The closest thing I could find to describe this item was a chocolate cup with lid. If you know what this set is, please let me know. The cup is 3-1/2" in diameter, 5" with handle. The lid is 3-3/4" in diameter. It stands approx. 2-3/4" tall, with lid. The saucer is 6-1/8" in diameter. I will not close my auctions early, or change to'buy it now' so please don't ask. Please email for more pics or information. I have 10 of these sets available. Women's Hand Painted Dresden Vanity Tray. The blue mark on this tray identifies it as being a Richard Klemm piece that was produced between 1886& 1916. The border has a raised scalloped edge with gold trim surrounding the hand painted yellow flowers. It measures approx. 10 inches by 7 1/2 inches and except for some minor gold trim wear around the edge is in excellent condition. This piece was expertly painted as the flowers appear to be coming off of the tray. Besides the Richard Klemm logo it is marked on the back"Dresden Germany" The back of the piece has been left unglazed. Most all of my listings are antique. Vintage or used items. For that reason they may have a mark or other imperfection. I will mention any major or other distraction that may affect the pricing of the item. Large Continental Porcelain Figurine Group with Dachshund Dogs(Dresden) Offering for sale this charming late nineteenth century continental porcelain figural group which depicts a high society lady who is having her portrait done while in the foreground a second lady plays with two dachshund dogs. The group measures 8.25 inches high and 9.25 inches wide across the base and is nicely modelled and hand painted with fine attention to detail- there is a lot going on in this piece! The base is unmarked although it was almost certainly made by one of the German manufacturers of the time. On close inspection there is a chip to the pen or brush which the artist is holding in his left hand and there is some rubbing to the gilding in areas but the overall condition is excellent with no serious chips. Description Breathtaking early handpainted Dresden portrait plate by Ambrosius Lamm. Signed by artist Hans Zatzka. The plate has the deepest cobalt blue border that is lavishly decorated with heavy gilt and gold beading. The central painting is of a beautiful young woman dressed in a sheer flowing gown surrounded by an angel and being carried in a small chariot by cherubs. The back of the plate is signed in script with Liebesfruhling(n Zatzka. Loosely translated. I believe it means, Spring's Love. Simply a magnificent work of art. Ambrosius Lamm is considered one of the most sought after porcelain decorators in the Dresden style at this time in history. The gold shows little, if any, wear and is very bright and heavily applied. There are surface scratches consistent with age that are evident, particularly on the cobalt border. There is one small spot of paint loss on the top of the woman's head. Additionally, there is an area on the rim where the gold appears to have been reapplied over an interruption in the gilt or over a small chip, long ago. Still, an exquisite plate. Lovely little Dresden miniature vase with applied flowers. Measures 2 1/2" high. Divided into 4 sections. One with a lady and 3 floralscenes. The one with the lady sitting has a pink rose above and the leaf next to that looks like it has broken off which can be seen in the photo if you look closely. On the back in blue is DRESDEN GERMANY and a crown(one of the others does not have a mark) I do not know the pattern name, but understand that these were made from somewhere in the early 18th century up until 1945. There is normal wear to the design. I don't see or feel any chips or cracks in this plate but it does have one tiny brown mark on the front which looks kind of like a burn mark from a cigarette ash or something.The second has no chips or cracks, the third does have a crack near the middle that spiders out about 2" Please read everything. Inside the circle is also the number"4. This is a really cute creamer. It has an embossed design and is decorated with Dresden style flowers in shades of yellow. Orange, blue, lavender, beige, and green. I can't tell if the flowers are handpainted or transfer. But they are really nicely done. The creamer is made of a very delicate white porcelain. The creamer has gold trim. Which is still in very good condition and shows almost no wear. The creamer is approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter at its widest point and is just over 3 5/8 inches tall. Superb Dresden Meissen Hand Painted Kakiemon Moulded Gilt edged scalloped Plate
DESCRIPTION The period of manufacture I believe was in the first 1/2 of the 20 Century but I am not a expert in this field. There is no doubt though that the painting is Hand painted and in the Japanese famous Kakiemon Style. It is a very striking plate with some wonderful moulding around the edges and the surrounding Gilt work is perfect with no rubbing. The classic and correct blue crossed sword Mark is in the center and towards the outside is apressed inscibed series of Marks which i have photographed(7& 8) There is a"U" mark with'68' figures besides and a further figure under this with larger figures of'33' Just to the side of these and touching the inside rim are two short straigh lines which form a'T' but they are disjointed(not touch each other with the lower insised part of the' T' touching ... morethe inside rim. This with the photographs will give an expert in this field the correct date which I think will be around the middle of the last century. SIZE: Diameter Plate is 21.8 cms with a deepth of 3 cms.
