But was offered the doorman position where he passed out Frangos to those who came to shop. Bill had this post for 30 years! His likeness is accurate and his smile too! These are vintage cast iron bookends or doorstops. They both have a couple praying over the harvest. One is more rusted than the other. They both need cleaning and seasoning. Also on one is marked Angelus. From research that I did they are from the early 1900's. The taller on is approximately 4 and 5/8" tall and 4 and 3/4" wide. The shorter one marked Angelus is approximately 4 and 1/4" tall and 4 and 1/2" wide.

Hubley Boson Terrier Doorstop very old late 1800s Cast Iron This Auction is for a very early Hubley Boston Terrier Cast Doorstop.Im sure its from the 1800s I did some research on it.First thing is the seam line on the underbelly it does not go straight across it has 2 spots were it sort of hooks in as seen in photo plus the ribs and legs are more Defined also the bottom of the feet are not filed flat but more rounded so I am certain its First generation, I know you guys might know more so if Im wrong please Email,Thanks, Its right around 9 3/4 inches high to tip of the ear and 9 1/2 inches long, Paint looks original,my scale broke but its around 5 pound or so,If you need more info please email me,Thanks again.

RARE ~ HUBLEY Cast Iron BOSTON TERRIER~BULL DOG Door Stop DOORSTOP ~ Late 1800s
RARE ~ HUBLEY BOSTON TERRIER DOORSTOP Late 1800s Description& Condition: This Hubley is the earlier model Boston Terrier Cast Iron Doorstop. This specimen is completely original and was never repainted. These earlier models from the late 1800s have smaller& thinner body features. And more definition of the dog's rib cage. A sign of leaner times back then? They typically have wisp markings on the body area to represent the dog's fur. The earliest Boston Terriers were molded and the bottom of the paws were left rounded. The subsequent generations have the bottom of the paws ground flat. The seams are well-aligned and the surface is relatively smooth aside from the paint loss from normal wear over the past 100 years or so. Hubley's signature hand-painted eyes and red tongue are still intact with this specimen. In a few small ... moreareas the paint loss leaves the bare cast iron surface exposed. Measurements: Approximately 9-1/2 Long and 10-1/4 inches Tall. I believe it's about 3-1/2 inches wide at the chest. It weighs approximately 6 lbs. This Doorstop is more than 100 years old. And it shows it's age! It was obviously used as intended much of the time, but it remarkably retains much of the original paint.right down to Hubley's signature hand-painted eyes and red tongue. There is one flush Flat-Head Screw on the dog's left side in the center of his toroso. In the pictures below: Notice the difference between the Boston Terrier Doorstops produced in the late 1800's compared to one from the early 1900's. T he two different Hubley Boston Terrier or Boxer Dog Doorstops are pictured side-by-side below. The one on the RIGHT side is the oldest specimen. And the one you are bidding on for this auction. The one on the LEFT is not quite as old as this one, and you can see the differences between the two. Notice the the difference on the pads of the paws/feet. The earlier model is rounded with some of it's original paint intact, whereas the one from early 1900's are ground flat. The

Up for your consideration is this vintage Hubley Lying Down St. Bernard cast iron doorstop. As you can see from the pictures it is in very good original condition with paint flecks and chips missing from the original paint.This is normal for a doorstop of this age and every day usage. Estate found this is 5.5" tall cast iron dog puppy doorstop sits on a 7" wide painted pillow. Cute dog seems to have the RCA Victor dog Nipper pose. As can be expected with these old doorstops there is some loss of surface paint and some flaking. Part of one ear is broken off. Here is a very rare cast iron doorstop made by Judd Co. Called Dapper Dan. It measures 8-7/16 inches tall and has a base that is 5 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches deep. It has felt on the bottom which I did not try to take off. The paint has some fading and wear, but overall is exceptional for this rare of a doorstop. His suit is blue, the shrubs are green, and his vest is red and white checked. I understand that these days this doorstop books in the $2,500 range. Winner gets an antique. Circa early 1900's, Hubley cast iron sailing ship door stop with what little remains of it's original paint. This is coming to you from an estate sale in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in it's original condition. There are no cracks, damage, or repairs. Please enlarge the pictures to see the oxidation that has occurred due to it's age. I'm sure it could clean up nice, it's still solid, the oxidation is just surface, but I wanted to leave it in original condition. Giant antique cast iron Basket of Fruit Doorstop/weighs 20 POUNDS/16&1/2" high
I don't think they get any bigger or heavier than this. A 1920s or so. Painted cast iron doorstop in the form of a basket of fruit. It is 16&1/2" high and it weighs 20 POUNDS. I don't see a maker's mark but I am sure it was made by a well-known foundry. Condition is as found and as shown. Shows surface rust which I think might clean off with a fine steel wool. Some paint loss and the paint is a bit dull- I think once cleaned, it will brighten up. Please look at all of my photos for the best idea of condition. If you want a doorstop that leaves all others at the door, then this is it. Thanks for looking!
