He had many ... morewonderful items! I cannot find a signature on the lamp shade. Although I may be missing something. Also, there is no felt or bottom covering on the base. The socket is signed, but this is for the hardware manufacturer. Several antique dealers have looked at shade but no definitive answer. Except it is truly beautiful! Multi shades of color accented with a stunning irridescence. The underside of shade has the colors in their more solid form. And on the outside is this wonderful and captivating coloring. Amazing. The rim of shade has no chips, just slight roughness. Shade is excellent. The metal base does has some discolor here& there. The lamp works and cord is fine. If it is a replacement, it was done many years ago. NOTE The four spokes supporting the base for the shade may be able to be tightened. This part moves slightly if shade is touched. But I have no problem using this lamp at all. Remember. Though, that there is some play in this part. From base bottom to top of socket. Lamp measures 16 1/2" The round part where shade fits into is about 10 1/4" Base of lamp is 7" across. Shade is about 6" tall, and 10" across opening. WILL BE SHIPPING this in TWO boxes. RARE GERMAN JUGENDSTIL SCHMUZ-BAUDISS JULIUS SCHARVOGEL ART NOUVEAU CANDLE LAMP
This is a very rare and early example of Jugendstil ceramics. It is a candle lamp and was made by the German Art Nouveau artist Theodor Schmuz-Baudiss in collaboration with Julius Scharvogel in 1899. It has a great reticulated form with carved Art Nouveau florals combined with a beautiful matte brown glaze. This unique piece was included in the famous 1988 museum exhibition"Art Nouveau in Munich- Masters of Jugenstil" and was exhibited in both Munich at the State Museum and in Philadelphia. I have include a copy of the museum catalog from the show with this piece displayed. It is 6" by 5" and in excellent condition. It is signed botyh by Schmuz-Baudiss and Scharvogel. Lamp Art Nouveau French Bronze Sculpted Thistle Listed Artist Leleu Paris(#3121)
Bronze oil lamp with thistle theme modelled in relief. Made in France and artist signed Georges Leleu and Salon 1904. Classic Art Nouveau bronze relief. Stands 13 1/2 inches high. Round base is just under 7 1/4 inches in diameter. Superb modelling of thistles and thistle leaves sweep in typical Art Nouveau whiplashed waves around the base and then swoosh up the leg of the lamp. That curves and widens to echo the elegant curves below. Relief thistle leaves curve up the leg, ending in flowers near the shoulders. The top of the leg widens, almost like a mushroom and is similarly modelled with swooping waves and thistle flowers. The lamp has impressed signature of G Leleu and Salon 1904 on the outside rim. Chandelier in original condition and finish, found with had an extra bulb& socket arrangement for the inside and lots of dirt. Arms have one Hubbell paddle socket, one Union paddle socket, and one Keystone socket. The shade is thick and high quality. Possibly made by Consolidated Glass in Pittsburgh, PA. The chandelier is quite large, and will be a marvelous focal point in any room. Chandelier just recovered from an attic. In original unrestored condition. The little 2 1/4" glass side shades were missing. I am including some extra chain and electrical parts to help in your restoration efforts. I did wash the glass bowl shade. Art Nouveau Slag Glass Marked Lamp No Reserve
This auction is for a very old slag glass or caramel glass lamp. Most lamps like this are constructed of what is commonly called“spelter. a zinc alloy that has a pewter shade of color but was nearly always plated or painted to resemble brass, copper or aged bronze. The caramel-colored glass used in these lamps, now called“slag glass” by dealers and collectors, was originally called“marble glass” in catalogs of the period. I have copied this information that seems to pertain to this lamp. It has markings on the socket that reads 2520w- 250 w pat d. July 6 1909 with a circled f. On the bottom of the base it is marked.S262. I don't know a lot about this lamp. I am selling it as I bought it. I left the glass out that was already out. Art Nouveau French Ormolu-Mounted Crystal Urn Lamp-Possibly Baccarat Early 1900s
Beautiful Art Nouveau lamp with richly cut crystal urn set in what appears to be gilded bronze. With handles shaped like flowing vines and flowers. The design of the urn looks much like Baccarat, but it is unmarked. The height of the lamp adjusts from about 33" to 38" including the finial. Allowing it to accommodate different sized shades. I am unsure if the finial is original, but like the lamp itself, it is very heavily leaded crystal. The height of the lamp to the top of the handles is about 18.25" The wiring is newer and both sockets are functional. The bottom is covered in green felt. The metal shows some surface wear commensurate with age. The crystal looks superb- no damage other than some small scratches and a black spot on the inside(pic#8) The shade is not included. Antique Metal Slag Glass Lamp, 7 Panel, Signed, RAINAUD #C, Art Nouveau 23"
This is an antique Rainaud lamp. The bottom of the lamp is stamped Rainaud C with the number 30 in the center at the bottom. Parts of the lamp are metal. And other parts are a metal like material. The two light bulb sockets look to have been changed in recent years. The lamp stands 23" tall. And the shase is 17.5" across the bottom. The lamp is heavy. And will need to be shipped in a large box with lots of padding which will be reflected in the shipping price. To ship will be around 20 pounds. I include insurance at no extra cost. Absolutely gorgeous 1920's Art Nouveau/ Deco natural nautilus shaped seashell electric lamp. Beautiful natural Mother Of Pearl and peach coloration. Exceptional muted light. Lighted shell sits atop another partial natural shell that houses the wiring and switch. Measures 7 1/2" tall. 5" wide and 4" front to back. The only problem that I see with the piece is the fact that the small cardboard paper insert that would have originally been inside the plug is missing. For sale is this most interesting antique pot metal table lamp. I did not mean to confuse in my title. As I believe this is a cross-over piece and was uncertain how to classify. Aesthetic Movement may be best, as it has elements of Art Deco, Nouveau and a touch of Orientalia with the men in the shade. A curious and wonderful design with snakes wrapping around the arms of the women. Unfortunately, the top is missing from the lamp area. I would think the stained glass was replaced as I am not sure how it could have survived without the lid. I purchased this at an estate in Rumson, NJ. In very good working condition. The vase was designed by the famous Carl Luber for the firm of Johann von Schwarz in Germany around 1900. Majolica portion measures 10 inches high, and lamp to the top of the socket measures 13 1/2 inches tall. Condition is excellent. One set of gentle marks to the reverse. Shown in the photographs, but these are extremely hard to see, and are not a different color. It's possible it's nothing at all. Up for sale is very rare Antique Art Nouveau Slag art glass table lamp by LAMB BROS. and GREEN. According to its history. It was made around 1910's in Nappanee, Indiana. Lamb Bros. and Green did not produce many art glass lamp like this until around 1915. It is hardly to see eBay listing any Lamb Bros. lamps.But found some in antique auctions around the country. The size of lamp is 18" shade diameter and 26" height base to top finale. The base is 8" diameter. I never count but using about 500 pcs. of slag glasses. They sold this size of art glass lamps around $3-4000. I am not expert of antique lamp but I think people would appreciate these quality lamp same as Tiffany. Handel or Bradley Hubbard. The manufactures sticker is still attached on base stem. The lamp need repair or replace pieces of glass. But it has been recreated into a one of a kind working piece of art. This gorgeous chandelier embodies that grand eras of Art Deco and Nouveau. The frame is a dark antique gold color. It is very ornate and made of brass. The brass is thick, heavy and every inch shows intricate molded detailing. As shown. It hangs 36 inches.The 11 inch chain could be shortened easily or lengthened without much trouble. The body of it is 25 inches and it is 7 1/2 inches wide. It takes 1 regular base bulb. The decorative jewels/prisms are amber, antique gold, charcoal and clear. The jewels and prisms were painstakingly sought out over time for their unique beauty and come from my personal collection. A great pair of L& F Moreau spelter and polychrome enamel table lamps. Beautifully sculpted in the art nouveau style. These two are the most beautiful/handsome"Harvesters" you will ever see and they are in pretty nice condition. He' has almost all of his enamel decoration(one small touch up on copper tube) but has been rewired, where'She' is missing quite a bit of the enameling but has what appears to be original wiring. There are shades with these, but with a little hunting, a nice set can be found. They measure about 7 1/4"W at the base x 14 3/4"T to the top of the figures x 33"T to top of the finials. Awesome antique victorian-art nouveau era table lamp early 20th c. This beautiful antique lamp stands 16 inches high and is 6 inches wide at the base. The fancy pierced shade ring is decorated with 30 strands of crystal lustres. These crystals have had new brass bow tie pins added to them. Early 20th Century 6 Panels One Panel is Cracked top/bottom. Condition& Description: This offering is for an early 20th century table lamp made and signed by the miller lamp company. This lamp is in preowned condition and does show slight signs of age but over all it is in beautiful condition with the exception of one panel being cracked from the top to bottom. The crack took me a while to see but it is present yet the slag glass is holding inside the metal casting perfectly fine. The ... morerest of the lamp is in spectacular condition with not other flaws and a beautiful light patina showing through parts of the metal. Lamp is signed on the underside of the base. Base is heavy cast iron with a brass stem and cast iron metal holding the slag glass panels. Overlay metal work on the shade has a nice hammered aged look to it with some dust present and light surface scratches yet I think that is from production and not actu al scratches. The base is etched with a very nice leaf/floral design cut deep in to the cast iron. Also included with the lamp is an old 8 foot extension cord that match's the lamp's cord. RARE L&F MOREAU FRANCE ART NOUVEAU LAMP BOY PLAYING FLUTE,TAMBORINE GIRL
JUST OUT OF AN OLD ESTATE I FOUND THIS VERY TALL AND HEAVY 14 1/2 POUND METAL ART NOUVEAU TABLE LAMP. IT HAS A BOY OR PAN PLAYING A FLUTE NEXT TO A GIRL PLAYING TAMBORINE. MARKED ON SIDE ABOVE BASE L F MOREAU AND NEXT TO THAT IS AN OVAL FOUNDRY MARK WHICH IS HARD TO READ BUT IS FRENCH. THERE ARE NO REPAIRS TO THIS BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME CONDITION ISSUES. THERE WAS FLAKING TO THE PAINTED SURFACE AND PRIOR OWNER TOOK THEIR TIME CAREFULLY REMOVING 95% OF IT FROM THE SURFACE. THEY DID NOT USE CHEMICALS. REMAINING PAINT SEEMS TO LIFT OFF OF IT EASILY BUT IM NOT DOING ANYTHING TO IT. DESPITE THE LOSS OF PAINT THERE IS NO ROTTING OR DRYING OUT STRESS CRACKS TO THE SURFACE IT IS VERY SMOOTH AND DARKER GRAY COLOR TO THE METAL THAT CAME OUT MUCH MORE LIGHTER IN THE CLOSEUP PICTURES DUE TO PHOTOGRAPH LIGHTING. THERE ARE 2 HARD TO SEE FACTORY THIN HOLES ... moreFROM CASTING IN THE CREVICES OF THE DRAPED LOIN CLOTH AROUND THE BOYS WAIST THAT IS STABLE AND ONLY FROM THE METAL BEING THINNER IN THAT AREA WHEN THEY POURED THE METAL INTO THE MOLD. NOTHING IS BROKEN OR MISSING ON THIS AS I TOOK MY TIME CAREFULLY EXAMINING THIS BEFORE LISTING IT. THESE SAME FORMS WERE ALSO MADE AS SEPERATE LAMPS WITH THE BOY BEING ONE AND THE GIRL THE OTHER BUT I NEVER SAW THIS FORM WITH BOTH TOGETHER. THIS DOES WORK AND THE WIRING SEEMS OK BUT I WOULD REWIRE IT MYSELF IF I WERE GOING TO USE IT. IT WAS REWIRED IN THE 50'S AND THEY ONLY REPLACED THE COVER AROUND THE SOCKET ONLY. DESPITE THIS NEEDING A BIT OF TLC IT IS WORTH THE EFFORT. IT ALSO COMES WITH ITS ORIG HARP. NO FINIAL. IT MEASURES 31 1/2 HIGH TO THE SOCKET,HARP WILL ADD ANOTHER 10 3/4 INCHES TO HEIGHT.
