FOR THE COLLECTOR OR DECORATOR: THIS PAIR OF ANTIQUE CHINESE WOODEN BENCHES WILL ADD WARMTH AND CHARM TO ANY ROOM I didn't know this until recently. But stools such as the two we show here were the primary seating in most Qing Dynasty(1644-1911) homes. Chairs were mostly reserved for the very wealthy. I also found out that an easy trick to discern the earlier stools from the later variety is that the lower to the ground the stool is. The earlier the date. Stools became higher with successive years and European influence. Another intriguing clue is that style. Shape and joinery techniques varied by region and province back when these were made. These differences and differences in woods used can identify age and province of origin for most of these antique Chinese stools and benches. And I can tell it by the shape and the use of the wood, I am still in the process of trying to to determine their provenance. They are both of slightly different design, and different woods, although they are the same height. So I am guessing they are similar time periods but different provinces. Up for auction is this beautiful wooden viewfinder/ stereoviewer/ stereo graphoscope from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It is in excellent condition but seems to be missing the slider piece. It still works by placing the stereoview card on top of the elongated bar. There seems to be no issues with the rest of the piece. Antique Painted Wooden Ship Weathervane on Stand * Nice Decorative Size
Antique painted wooden ship weathervane on stand. The ship is painted white. Black and red. There is an eagle carving on the front and rear of the vessel. It is mounted on a steel rod that slides on the wooden shaft of the stand. The masts and wires that would support sails all seem to be present, however, it is in need of some restoration to the masts. It has nice details and is a wonderful piece of folk art. It measures 32" long, 16" tall(ship alone) 29" tall on stand. Minor perfections.

Large Antique Pre 1900 Intricately Detailed Wooden Picture Frame
This is a quite large. Nicely detailed and very old wooden picture frame. This frame dates back to the late 1800's at least. I can attest to this as this frame and picture was in my family and I know who the picture is of. This frame measures about 30" tall and 25.5" wide. It has a glass pane covering the picture. The picture is held in place with old brad style nails. This frame is in pretty decent condition for as old as it is. The outside framework has a few spots where the finish is off but all the finely detailed inner framework looks very good. It could possibly use a little firming up by whoever buys it although it should hang well just as it is. This is a rare 19th century wooden trunk in wonderful condition. This wooden trunk has a rich. Dark hue and is bound with iron straps. The rich patina and rivets attest to the age of the trunk. The hand forged handles on each end of the trunk are in perfect condition. The heavy iron hinges and latches are reminiscent of medieval iron pieces. The interior of the trunk is in very nice condition and features fine natural wood. This trunk is still in spectacular condition because it was built by skilled craftsmen. It remains a strong and sturdy piece and has no real damage of any kind. It measures 49 1/2" long x 28 1/2" wide x 20" high. I believe the original latches were altered at some point, but the trunk is all original and will be a fine piece for many years to come. Up for auction is a pair of rare. Antique wooden masks from the Mortlock Islands, part of Chuuk in Micronesia in the South Pacific. The masks, which are both male and female, are called tapuanu meaning"sacred soul/spirit. These masks were worn during ceremonial dances and represent guardian spirits. Traditionally, they are painted with white faces and black trim and only come from this small group of islands in Micronesia. The above pair of masks are in excellent condition despite their 50+ years of age. The female mask has a crack in the wood due to drying(please see photos) Both masks have minor paint wear. Offered here is an all original antique circa early 1910s gorgeous lustreware with gilt design and wooden lid. Salt box as shown. The colors on the glaze have a rainbow lpok to them when they ... morecatach the light. Measures approx. 6 1/4" x 5 1/4 and is in very nice condition. the gilt is 95% intact and the finish still very shiny. There is one glaze pop line in one edge which isn't a crack but is vetical and is from time of manufacture. Inside will need a cleaning but will leave that up to you so as not to damage this in any way. Some wear on the bottom edges just from use and age but old wear. mot mew and not sharp to the touch. Simply a lovely piece! A wonderful addition to a collection! Someone may be getting a real treasure here. No reserve! I try to take good photos and write accurate descriptions. Old wooden chime clock. 22" long. 6" deep, base 5 1/2" deep. There is a name on face.cant make it out. Begins with H-e or K-e, ends with L E( is in script. There is No Key, dont know if works. When I moved clock, it made a chime sound and ticking. Case in excellent condition. with only a little wear on few areas of edge and sliver of missing veneer layer on top at rear of clock. Solid wood under veneer. Movement has letters F H S/or 5, and 12 cm,196, along with a clock face symbol.
