Antique OAK MONITOR MEDINA WALL CLOCK SHELF PLATE HOLDER CLOCK SHELF
This is a great idea. A clock in a shelf that can hold clocks as shown(clock not with this auction but for sale) and has a plate grove in the top of the shelf to also hold and display plates. It's marital compromise bliss! Your wife can display her plates right beside your clock! This is an original clock made by the Monitor and the model is the Medina. The wood is beautiful solid quartersawn oak. The clock under the shelf has a 30 hour movement although it runs as long as the length of your chain so it could run longer than 30 hours. The movement is single weight driven and to set the clock you simply pull down the chain by the wood acorn. The pendulum is original and is also oak. I took the pictures while the clock was running so the pendulum appears blurred. It has a mission period criss-cross design. It was in a very big house that belonged to a dentist. I have been putting up different items from this estate over the past couple of weeks. This is authentic. You can see the mechanics in the center of the clock. I think it needs a key but I do not have one so it could work for all I know- but I am selling it as not working. The wheel I was told is original. It is extremely old. There are a few marks on the face. It measures 20 inches in circumference so it is quite large. Looks like a ships bell alarm clock but what do I know? The clocks dial is covered over by glass with a brass bezel and it's missing the hands to the clock as you can see. This clock is kind of beat up and not running so you are buying it"as is" I’ll try to take a bunch of photo’s to try to show you what you are bidding on exactly. Measures 12 inches tall x 7 inches wide x 3 inches deep including the wooden base. Only markings I see are on the dial which says“Germany” although I’m unsure who the exact maker was back then. This will be an exceptional clock when it is completed. the works are good the clock will run but I believe the upper bellows need to be either repaired or replaced the works are marked on the back as you can see in photo. there are hands but if someone could replace these with the really old hands it would be great. the pendulum is 7 inch long the clock top of wing to bottom of case is 25 inch then the 7 additional for pendulum. it is 18 1/2 inch across the top wide. the crest is removable. Antique Seth Thomas Small OGEE 8 Day Clock w/ Wall Shelf- Lyre Mvt.- Runs Well
Offered here is a nice looking antique small Empire Ogee clock by Seth Thomas of Thomaston. Conn. Dating to the mid 1800s. This small size wall or mantel clock is constructed of solid wood and mahogany wood veneers and features a reverse painted bottom glass panel bird scene and painted tin dial face. A small wall mount shelf is included and looks to have age but I cannot vouch for them being a pair originally. The 8 day all brass lyre frame time and strike spring movement is running well. Keeping time and it comes complete with pendulum and key. There is a coiled gong strike counting each hour. The dial has some paint wear and flaking and could be repainted to restore it. The cabinet has some light scuffs consistent with its age. Nothing major. And the finish looks to be original. The reverse painting with gold trim of a colorful bird is ... moreundamaged except for a section that was scraped off to view the moving pendulum behind it. There are a couple very small pieces of veneer that are missing along the bottom edge and the corners. But overall it is complete which is unusual for a clock of this age(see pics) The Seth Thomas paper label in the inside of the back is mostly complete and intact. There is a repair label with an 1894 date glued to the back panel and there is a repaired split section of the back panel on the lower right. Measurements are 16" high x 10" wide x 3 1/2" deep. The dial is 5 1/2" in diameter. The small wall shelf is 11" x 4" x 9" high. I do not service the clocks I sell. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL WORKING ANTIQUE INGRAHAMS ROSEWOOD WALL CLOCK. THE CLOCK IS AN 8 DAY TIME AND STRIKE. CHIMES ON THE HOUR. STRIKES AS MANY TIMES AS WHAT HOUR IT IS. THE CLOCK IS APPROXIMATELY MADE AFTER 1861 AS SEEN IN PICTURE TWO, THE SECOND PATENT DATE IS ABSCURED. THIS CLOCK IS APPROXIMATELY 140 YEARS OLD. THE ROSEWOOD, GLASS, AND MECHANISM ARE IN OVERALL GOOD SHAPE. THERE ARE A FEW LIGHT BLEMISHES IN THE WOOD DUE TO AGE AND THE PAPER INSTRUCTRIONS INSIDE WHERE THE PENDULUM SWINGS IS PARTLY MISSING. This is very old. Clock combo Thermostat. It looks like it may of been from one of the old buildings in Lowertown St. Paul. Like the Endicott. Pioneer Press etc. Maybe the bldgs. in Mpls. I don't think Honeywell is still in Business. It is fully in tact. Still has the screws on the plate on the back. Has wires that have a'B' W' R' So I'm guessing all parts are there. It has a place for a thermometer and bracket on the left side and a barometer on the right side(the thermometer& bracket are missing- it has the barometer bracket it is missing the barometer) the dial reads"Use Dickey's Indian Blood& Liver Pills" that is partially legible. The clock measures 26 1/2" tall by 13 1/2" wide- the case is structurally in sound condition and complete although it has partially been painted. The movement is complete and somewhat working although it needs a complete overhaul- it has its original pendulum and marked Waterbury key- the etched glass Angelic door panel is in excellent condition with no chips. So when this came along I just had to have it. The case and shape, and works(Gilbert) are always the same, just the painting(or decal) are different. This clock came to me with an electric movement, no movement cover, and no pendulum. A correct Gilbert movement and brass movement cover have been replaced. Please see my other auctions for more clocks and nice antique furniture such as roll top desk. 9 drawer filing cabinet set, china cabinet with lions heads, etc. This is a nice New Haven wall hanging clock in the" Winnipeg" model listed in Tran Duy Ly book on page 155. It is Walnut wood. Original unsigned movement. Dial and dial pan, all finials, etc. The original painted face was repainted 20 years ago due to severe dial paint flaking which is so common on older New Haven Clocks and looks nice with an aged patina. Dial pan has a patented date of February 11, 1879 on the top of dial pan. Clock was refinished in 1980. This clock was purchased in Iowa back in 1975. Catalog lists it as 1881 and 1889 model. You don't see this model very often! Clock runs and keeps time well. Dial is 6 inches. 8 day movement in time only. The glass ... moreis all original. Original pendelum rod and bob. It is approximately 35 inches long and 12.5 inches wide. Very nice original label on back. Clock is sold as-is. Please look at the pictures as they show you the quality of this nice clock. Large Vintage Antique Hand Carved Wood Wall Clock Lion Head 35"
This was purchased from the estate of a master woodworker. The entire lower level of his house was a sawdust filled. Very dusty woodworking shop. I am unsure of it's age but it looks to be quite old and it definately appears to be hand made. It is very dirty and it will need a thorough cleaning. In additiion, it has more than a few scratches and scuffs and a few small chips in the wood, most noticeably on the edge of the decorative scroll work near the bottom. Finally, there is no movement. The actual clock and hands will need to be replaced. Measuring about 35" tall and 9 3/4" across at it's widest point, there is a rusty hook on the back for hanging. This handsome as found clock measures 35” tall x 13 ¾” wide x 6” deep and boasts a largely original surface overall with 7 ¼” diameter dial. The case is walnut. Walnut veneer and ebonized hardwood with lots of touch up in the black areas. You will note old(inactive) worm holes. The clock runs but will require some regulating; the weights are brass but not perfect matches. Its movement is marked as shown and appears to be in good condition.
