Vintage, oil burning bow light. nautical design. measures 8 1/4 inches high by 4 3/4 wide. handle extends another 5 3/8 high. lamp is marked with a badge that states: HELVIC'S pattern approved by inspector of the port of N.Y. the actual lamp is in excellent condition and still has a long wick. the Fresnel lenses have some small chips. But are not at all cracked. it also appears to have some repairs done with solder.

Rare find from an estate sale. Is this Sea line brass oil lamp that sets in wall bracket. As the ship rocks with the waves. The bracket holds the lamp. So it stays upright; the rings rotate. Causing the lamp to stay upright, so the light doesn't tip. The glass globe fits into rim. So it stays on the lamp as the ship rocks. The brass bottom has Sea line marked on the front and"British Starhinge Burner" is written just below where wick comes up. On the knob that raises and lowers wick is marked"Sherwoods Ltd. BHAM" At the estate sale there was one of these lamps on each side of the fire place. But I only managed to get one of them. Antique National Marine Lantern Oil Lamp. Lamp has Falto City Highway S Div on front and on bottom of lantern it is stamped with MFRD by National Marine Marine Lamp Co. New York. Lamp measures 8 1/4" in height. The bottom of lantern screws on but it is missing one of the tabs which can easily be fixed. If you wish to have this repaired before shipment, I can have that done by an excellent welder with over 42 years of experience. Asthma, bronchitis etc. The base measures approx. 3" in diameter, it stands approx. 6" high. Clear glass oil well with raised printing"Vapo Cresolene" and"Use Keorsene" and incised printing on top rim"Patented Aug 1 85 Aug 8 89" thick milk glass chimney, embossed metal stand& partial box with advertising. Condition: I'm not sure if this is the original chimney as it doesn't fit tightly in the bracket(see pict. 3) however, this is how I found it at an Estate sale and I am selling it as is. There is a chip/flaw on the metal ring at the top of the stand(underneath the top bowl) it could have been done during manufacturing, as it does not interfere with the integrity of the stand, ... morethere is no weakness in the stand and the top bowl remains firmly in place; there are a few fleabite size nicks on the rim of the chimney, no cracks or breaks; oil well has no chips, cracks or breaks; metal shows some age/use wear to the surface finish; and the box shows wear in a missing top, tears on seams& discoloration. Antique 1876. Miniature Hurricane Oil Lamp, Turquoise Blue Glass, Brass Burner, Offered here is a beautiful antique. Miniature oil lamp. It is made of swirled glass done in teal blue with a clear glass chimney that features the same swirled pattern. This lamp is complete and original, comes with a heavy cotton wick and the burner is made of a heavy duty brass. This piece has a patent date on the burner that reads April 13 1876 and there is a company name that I cannot make out just underneath the date. This lamp is in excellent overall condition and measures 8 1/2" tall by 3" in diameter as measured at the bottom of the base. This lamp is a rare find. It is over 140 years old and is in wonderful condition for it's age.

This auction is for an antique Victorian bisque girl figure. Meant to hang as a decoration on a hanging oil lamp. She measures about 5" tall. The boy is being sold in a separate auction. While the boy shows an old repair, I don't see anything wrong with the girl figurine itself. The right side of the swing has a small crack on the top surface. It doesn't extend all the way through to the bottom but could be a weak spot. There is a blue number 23 on the bottom of the swing. She has a cute expression and bright color. This is an antique miniature oil lamp vaporizer called the Vapo-Cresolene. This is by far the best example I have ever seen. It is in the original box that is in very good condition. The lamp looks like it has never been used and is complete with no missing. Broken, or repaired pieces. It also has an original unused box of the inhalant used for the lamp. It also has the instructions on how to use the lamp. I just acquired this today from an estate in Mankato, Minnesota. A great item for a collection. I do combine items to save on shipping costs. Antique Silver plated Chaffing dish oil alcohol lamp burner dentist unused wick
I am not quite sure how old this little cool burner is. I have never seen another one like it. The clever threaded mechanism allows for different intensity of the flame. It appears to have never been used before. It is quite clean and the wick looks brand new. There are no markings on on it but I am quite sure it is silver-plated. The bottom has one ding on the edge-see last pic. I am positive that this was a display piece in someones cabinet since it appears to be so clean. It stands about 2.5" tall and 2.5" wide.Free shipping in the USA only!

Antique glass oil lamp electrified/muslin shade. Gorgeous looking.
This was tagged a antique whale lamp that was electrified. It has a nice muslin shade with a great design in the fabric. The shade is a little soiled in 3 parts of the shade. I would turn that side to the back. Of course you have to look to notice due to the color of the fabric. I would not hesitate from using it just the way it is. It measures 10 1/2" from the bottom of the lamp to the bottom of the brass socket. Like I said the tag said whale lamp but you look it over to make sure that is the style. Gives off wonderful light because its a tall one and the shade is beige. Any questions please ask and thanks for looking.

I have up for sale a rare vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s Marine Division ARTISTIC BRASS& BRONZE WKS NY ship oil lamp lantern complete with original hanging bracket. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. The glass globe on top of the lamp is in great condition. The globe has the antique style bubbles in the glass. The globe measures 53/4 inches tall. The bottom of the globe measures 2 inches wide. The top of the globe measures 3 inches wide. The filament crank is in good working condition. The bottom of the lamp where the oil is held is in great condition with no rust on it. The base measures 7 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide. The oil container is 3 1/2 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide. The whole lamp is a foot tall. Antique Nepal Ganesha Sukunda Traditional Oil Lamp And Two Oil Spoons
Up for your consideration an Antique Sukunda Oil Lamp Nepal. 19th century. Brass, 5" tall, 6 1/2"from handle to lamp. The sukunda is both a pot for holding oil and a lamp for burning. The flame burns in front of an image of Ganesh. Remover of obstacles, while a small Buddha figure under a protective umbrella of nagas, sits above the pot of oil. Two lions guard either side of the flame. Other meanning; Nepalese brass oil lamp cast with the Hindu figures Ganesha and Vishnu resting under a canopy of cobras.The meaning of having Ganesha is"auspicious beginnings" and Vishnu under the cobras means"knowledge and enlightenment"The oil lamp is lit to dispel the gloom of ignorance and throw light on the start of a new day. Also Two oil spoons which there were normally used for putting an oil into ritual hanging or standing lamps in Hindu temples. The spoons are made of metal. Antique Vintage Oil Lamp And 2 Frosted Glass Shades
NO RESERVE AUCTION for antique green glass oil lamp and a pair of stunning shades. These are not matched item- the lamp likely had a regular glass oil lamp shade on it. The 2 shades are pink and powder-blue. With very minor chips to the color at the bottom edge of the pink one, and a spot of black'smudge' on the bottom of the blue one. Not sure what the black is(tar maybe) but have not attempted to clean it off in case I damaged the shade. They have matching beautiful raised patterns on the surface of a vine with berries and leaves. The lamp is about 11inch tall. The shades are approx. 6.5 inch diameter and 8.5 inch tall. The glass shades could be adapted and used on a modern light fitting. Enjoy!

The more familiar style with a hinged cage was introduced in 1906, and is related to patent 864414 issued on Aug 27. 1907. The older style was first introduced around 1900, and utilized the older"Drop-Down" ... morecage design which is attributed to Fred Dietz' patent 395489 from January 1, 1889, which was used on the predecessor fire department lanterns in the 1890's. The King was offered in Solid Brass, Nickel Plated over Solid Brass, and Copper Fount with Tin Frame versions. A common variation was the Copper Fount version painted Red, either entirely, or just the frame. All versions of the King were made with double wall constructed founts, using an inner tank wall made of dipped tin. This type of construction insured that the fount would not leak in the event the brass or copper should crack or be damaged, something common for the softer materials. For this reason, when holding a magnet to the fount of a King, it will attract to the inner wall made of tin. This can be confusing when trying to determine what the fount is made of when examining a lantern that has been painted. While it's use declined in the 1930's, the King was offered in the Dietz price lists into the 1940's, although it is believed production ceased around 1939. You are buying two very nice ship's oil lamps(matching pair) Beehive tanks made from pot metal. The tanks lock into the brackets.Two part wall brackets made of cast iron. With lock downs. Marked with embossed numbers on brackets. Lamps measure 7 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. Projectioin is 8 1/2 inches from wall. Appears to be coated with brass paint. We would think this is the original finish. These show their age. Burners are marked Eagle and have a fair amount of surface rust. No wicks. Both tanks' caps are on and lamps are complete. Antique Islamic Marble Stone Oil Lamp from Afghanistan
This elegant. Hand-carved lamp is a very old piece made from one piece of stone or marble. It is approximately 3 1/4" high. 6 1/2" at longest point, 3 1/2" wide at top, and sits on a 2 1/2" roundish base. This beautifully shaped piece was purchased at the Friday Market in Islamabad. Pakistan about 25 years ago. We were told that it came in from Afghanistan and that it is several hundreds years old. There may be a few nicks and a discoloration near the base(see picture) But it's hard to know whether this is because of the extreme age of the piece or whether it's simply part of the hand tooling and natural marble color. My husband and I spent 5 years visiting the Friday Market in Islamabad and the huge bazaar in Peshawar(where a significant number of merchants were Afghani) And these pieces(our collection has ancient ... morehookah bases as well as stone lamps) were quite rare. These pieces are just amazing. But I have to downsize my collection as I think that we bought just about every piece they had in Islamabad back in the 1980's and 1990's! Jan. 21 90 Made In USA" The Bronze color is worn in places as you can see in the photos. I'm not sure what kind of metal the angel is made of but it is not magnetic. The base has several chips around the edges as also seen in photos. The base measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. The total lamp height is 2 feet 6 inches. The oil lamp above the angel is slightly tilted due to what appears to it being screwed on crooked as you can see in the picture of the top of the angels head. this is an extremely large antique victorian Royal P&A oil burning table lamp from late 1800's. it is very ornate and has a beautiful solid tapering marble shaft with gorgeous inclusions and veining. there are nice solid brass parts at the top of the shaft which hold the very large globe shaped font housing. it has a nice heavily embossed pattern wrapping the belly and a cut out detail on the bottom. the font is completely made from brass and and sits perfectly recessed in the housing. has a knob to control the wick and a plug to be able to fill the font with flame contents. the burner housing has 4 pegs that hold a nice clear glass flute shade into place. the outer rim can also hold a larger shade if desired. it has a solid very heavy brass and cast iron base with nice floral and scroll cut out detailing. the base is very dimensional. ... moreIt is in great shape and measures 31 3/4 inches tall by 8 inches wide. exquisite high quality lamp.
