This auction is for an antique circa 1850 Seth Thomas mantle clock in excellent condition. The clock works and keeps excellent time. It chimes on the hour. One chime for each hour[on 12, for instance it chimes 12 times] It also has a smaller bell that rings once on the 1/2 hour. The case has its' original faux wood finish which is also in excellent original condition. There is a small chip at the top with a few small scuffs, and a small chip on the bottom edge. Check the jpegs. Faux finishes of this age are rarely found untouched. The four metal feet appear to have been plated at one time and have lost that plating. The same goes for the glass enclosure on the front glass. This is a nice genuine American made antique, and is being offered from a local estate with no reserve. With handling the pendulum hook became detached. I checked up inside with my hands and flashlight and the hook from which it hangs behind lower part of face is just fine- I just know very little about clocks and how to reattach it. It sat since its purchase in 1994 on my mantle and worked faithfully, tended by my then-husband. Comes complete with key. And with instructions and information on the original purchase(cards from Illinois antique shop. Measures approximately 12 1/4" tall by 9 3/8" across base and 4 3/16" deep. It is fresh from a old Forest Hills. NY estate. You are bidding on a very large and important French Gilt bronze clock made by Brocot Brevete of Paris from the mid 1800's. Wonderful quality and craftsmanship. It is signed in the back as seen on pictures. The condition is expected for its age. The arms on the dial are missing. In addition, the object held by the girl is missing. The chime and the pendulum are separated from the mechanism. The chime has a very pleasant lovely sound. Rare Antique circa 1866 U.S. Clock and Brass Company Chicago Ogee Mantle Clock working. Here is a beautiful Antique Ogee Mantle Clock in Working Condition. This clock is rare for a couple of reasons. First. It is rare to find a clock made by the US Clock and Brass Company out of Chicago. Secondly, the blue label inside the clock is very rare. This clock was made sometime around 1866. It is a 30 hour two weight driven clock. The weights are included. It has a striking coil that gongs on the hour counting down the hours. The metal hand painted floral dial is original. It has some crazing from age but this is common on a clock of this age. The glass on the front has no cracks. Chips or breaks. It has a gold gilt stencil over which is a reverse painting on glass. It portrays a beautiful bouquet of flowers. In the center of the picture is some ... morepaint loss but at a distance it is hard to tell. The brass movement is the correct 1.5 for this maker. The mahogany veneered case is 26" tall, 15" wide and 4.25" deep. It does have some scratches and a few small areas of missing veneer on the base but overall it is in great condition. U.S. Clock and Brass made clocks for only a brief time between 1866 and 1868. Chauncey Jerome. A well known clock maker, was hired as superintendant of the U.S. Coin and Brass Company in Austin and Illinois. Later he sold these clocks under his own label. Antique Ansonia Cast Iron Decorative Mantle Clock This is a very unusal mantle clock. It is cast irom. But is painted to look like wood. I purchased the item at an estate sale and it is not in working condition. It may just need cleaned and oiled. It does not have a pendulum. When you move the minute hand to 12 the gong strikes and sounds good. There is no glass over the face. The clock is about 10 inches tall and 10 inches wide and is about 5 inches deep. It is very heavy, weighing about 10 lbs.

Antique pendulum chiming mantle clock by Canterbury Clocks circa 1920s-1930s
This is a beautiful chiming pendulum mantle clock dating from the 1920s or 1930s. It has a timber tambour shaped body with a simple face with glass bezel. A timber back with i ts original labels on the door and a brass mechanism complete with pendulum and key. This clock is made by Cant erbury C locks and the key is stamped"Made in England" The clock is fully working and chimes one bell on th e half hour. And chimes on the hour with the corresponding number of bells. It will need some adjustment however as it seems to be only be keeping t ime for 18 hours or so. This should be resolved by adjustment and/or a servic e. The clock does have some wear and tear expected for its age(please see the photos for more details) but overall is in good vintage condition. Up for auction is an antique Ingraham Gila"Kitchen Clock" This particular clock was manufactured from 1895 to 1904. It is a 31-day calendar clock with a paper face. Antique Unknown Maker Shelf Clock with Works for Parts/Restoration! Needs some TLC! This clock has a very nice shape and really nice ornamentation. There is no visible mark of the Maker. This clock was painted but is missing quite a bit of its paint and what is left is crazing. The wooden ornamentation is in very good condition including a ladies head and scrolling and crosses on either side. The top ornamentation is a bit loose. The front clock door has a few cracks in the wood as shown but the glass is in good condition. Maradeuse” by Francois Moreau" c1890-1905– red marble garniture case: dated between 1890 and 1905. It includes the key. A beautiful bronze 15” finial of a peasant girl holding a basket of fruit. The figure is incorporated with marble node& stand. The clock has a beveled glass door. The clock face appears to be reversed painted numerals on glass. The finial has a metal name tag with the inscription: MARADEUSE" Par Francois Moreau. The maker's mark. Louis Moreau is incised on the statue at the base, L&F Moreau” in script. France is incised on the back of the statue. The metal portion is spelter with the original gilded surface still very much intact with the exception of a small ... morearea on the girl’s wrist. ANTIQUE 1875 GILBERT MANTLE SHELF CLOCK– MODEL“COTTAGE” ROSEWOOD VENEER CASE Here is a charming 1875 Gilbert Cottage Clock. I purchased this several years ago from the Onderdonk estate. A local Bergen County historical family. The clock runs and keeps good time, and counts the hour on a gong. It has a 30 hour movement. Also there is a rod on the left side hand of the works to adjust the hour. The clock case is very solid, however it is missing a bit of its rosewood veneer(see pictures) But it still has a very charming look to it. It has its original pendulum, and comes with a key that will work the clock. The glasses are also original to the clock, and the face is painted on zinc or tin. Here is a Beautiful Antique circa 1890 New Haven Clock Company Kitchen Gingerbread Mantle Clock in Working Condition. The model name is on the back but we are unable to completely make it out. The Cabinet and Glass are gorgeous. The color of wood and carving are outstanding. The top crest has been repaired but done so in a very good manor. The movement chimes on the full hour counting down the hours. The movement is signed with the New Haven Clock Company Trademark. The front glass is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips, or breaks and the stenciling is also excellent. The face has roman numerals and is surrounded by a brass bezel. This is offset by a very pretty brass pendulum. This kitchen clock measures approximately 22" tall. 13" ... morewide and 5" deep. This is an heirloom piece that is not only great to look at but also something that can be treasured and passed on for many generations to come. About New Haven Clock Company: Incorporated February 7. 1853, the New Haven Clock Company was formed by clockmaker Hiram Camp and others to supply clock movements to the Jerome Manufacturing Company, then the largest clock making operation in the world. Three years later, the Jerome firm went bankrupt and in April of 1856 the New Haven Clock Company raised an additional $20,000 and purchased the Jerome operation. By 1860. The firm employed 300 men and 15 women and was producing about 170,000 clocks a year. In 1866, the old Jerome factory was destroyed by fire, but a new brick factory was soon built which survives today with many additions. Their working force had increased to 460 men, 52 women and 88 children by 1880 and nearly a million dollars worth of clocks were produced that year. Daniel Pratt & Sons Antique Mantle Clock c. 1850 to 1891 BOSTON HISTORY
This is an absolutely stunning piece of New England- particularly Boston- history. A mantle clock made by Daniel Pratt& Sons during the 1800s. This clock is in the ogee format and made from mahogany veneer. The label you see in the photograph also includes instructions for regulating and winding the clock. The weights are brass and extremely heavy. There is a beautiful metal pendulum that I didn't have enough room to show you a picture- but I have other photos if you would like them. Just contact me and I can email them to you. The measurements of the clock are 25.75 in length. 4.5 in depth and it is 15.25" wide. It is a mahogany veneer with a painted clock face. I have shown places that are dinged in the veneer in the pictures. Also there is a pendulum which is a floral embossed metal which appears to be brass. There are two ... moreweights, both conical in shape and very heavy. There is a coiled spring mechanism as shown in the photos and a metal wire to attach the pendulum. The weights are attached by cords. There is a piece of cardboard that was inside the clock that looks to read Charles Beasley 5th of February 1891. This clock was purchased by my husband and I at an auction on Prince Edward Island. Canada in 2000. We haven't ever put it together to run it, but all of the parts are included and it had worked fine at the time of the auction. Antique Ingraham shelf clock with oak case and pendulum. 15 1/4" tall, 14 1/2" wide, 5 5/8" deep, 5 1/2" diameter face covered with a brass bezel and glass. The case has a very old- probably original finish that is heavily alligatored but you can still see how pretty the oak is underneath. The face is also very pretty- stamped, embossed metal with hand-painted black numbers. The clock does not- the main spring is broken. We do not have the key, nor do we have the back door. One"ear" is broken and missing from the crest and the bottom section of molding is missing from the pendulum window under the face. There is a screw in the right end of the half round molding over the face which is probably not original. You are bidding on this very rare ANTIQUE Desk/ Alarm Clock from the German manufacturer HALLER A.G. In the time Junghans was growing. Haller and Kienzle merged into one company uniting under the name Kienzle. This clock is from the first decade of the 1900's. It's is in an excellent functioning condition and it comes in solid metal! Having a windable movement which is running great. The alarm also works perfectly by means of a large bell on top of the clock. It is very clear and sounds like it left the shop yesterday. On top of the bell you find a carriage handle. The paper dial looks very good and there is a separate second hand and alarm hand. The scale on the dial showing the present time has Arabic numbers; the scales at the second and alarm hands are also in Arabic numbers. Special about the dial is that the time is also there ... morein"PM" 13, 14, 15 etc. Of course the HALLER mark and the name HALLER AG are on the dial. The front is made of thick glass and all hands come in black metal. The hands showing the present time were once glowing in the dark. The way they are shaped is special. The dial is oilfree! This listing is for an antique Gilbert black mantle clock. I have cleaned it by ultrasonic cleaner. Oiled with the best synthetic oil, and replaced all of the bushings on the time and strike trains. It runs great and sounds majestic. The chiming is called a"Bim-Bam" which means it strikes two strikes for each hour and two strikes for each half hour. It is a very pleasant"bim-bam" sound. As you can see from the pictures, the clock is in very good condition. It is quite an eye catcher and I'm sure you will be happy with it. The clock is 16 inches long, 10 1/2 inches high, and 6 inches deep. The beautiful porcelain type dial does have two small cracks at the small 12:00 hole, that are hardly noticeable. The four brass pole holders hold lovely onyx adamantine matching colored half-poles with two on each side that really sets off the clock. And are in great condition. The top and the inside top and bottoms are all marbleized adamantine in colors of Orange. Blue Greens, Tans on Black. Lovely gold incised scrolling is on the lower bottom and around the Bezel that is just beautiful in rich gold color. The pictures tell you how beautiful this clock truly is. Measurements are: 16-1/2" wide x 11" tall x 7" deep. A signed Seth Thomas. Restored Arabic Dial is offset with an original Fancy Pie Type Seth Thomas Brass Bezel, and Spade Hands that tell you the time. I believe this clock is RARE because I searched my Tran Du Ley book and could not locate it in the volume I have.
