Gruesome as cutting-in may seem to most of us, unaccustomed as we are to the scenes that unfold daily in slaughterhouses and aboard commercial fishing vessels, it was really nothing more than whale-scale butchery—certainly not the kind of thing any hunter, especially one who had just gone through all the trouble and gore of killing ... morea whale, would cringe at. But trying-out, the process of boiling oil from the stripped blubber, was another story. ANTIQUE PERKO MASTHEAD SHIPS MARINE LANTERN LAMP SMALL OIL LAMP FRESNEL LENSE For your consideration is this Antique Perko Ships Lantern. This lantern has been converted from oil to electric. There is a dent on the bottom edge. This has made it out of round& where the insert only lines up in one position. One of the locking wires has come disconnected but is still present& included. Clear perko Fresnel lens in great condition with no cracks. This lens is a full cylinder. This lantern is just over 6" tall and is 4.25" across the b ottom. I have made no attempts to polish or repair this lamp. This is the condition i found it in. This piece will make a great little project for someone who likes to tinker with things. Or just leave it the way it is, as it's still charming!

I have here a stunning vintage stage light with cast iron base in Excellent condition! This beauty was manufactured in Chicago in the mid century. Late 50's or early 60's. The design itself is even earlier- classic Art Deco and maintains all origional electric circutry including a removable extra lense as shown in the 4th picture and the origional 500 watt light, cord and inline switch. The unit comes with 3 lenses in total. The 4.5" fresnel lens is the inner most lense and makes for excellent accent lighting, The beam focuses smoothly from a spot to a flood via a Bakelite knob in back as shown in pics# 9& 10. The levers allowing the lamp to be adjusted from 4-6 feet are in good working condition too. The metal exterior is in original condition, showing no significant dents/dings. The spotlight has been positioned on an antique wood tripod stand, with its original leather strapes. Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. I'm pleased to offer up for auction a set of three antique plant or lamp ceiling hooks from the late 1800's. They are in the victorian or eastlake style and are made of cast iron. The escutcheons for the two large hooks have cast into their backs"Patd APR 23 1872" These two large hooks are 7" long tip to tip and 3.25" is the length of the hook itself. The small one is just over 4.5" with the hook itself being just under 2.5" They have some light wear and the casting is a bit crude but they are a great set and will make the new owner very happy! Antique Clear Pressed Glass/Brass Whale Oil Lamp Only With Snuffers and Wick
This is. I believe, a lamp intended to be used to burn whale oil. The wick is unburned, so I don't think it was ever put to use. The screw on cap, snuffers, and two wick holders are brass, with a knurled top edge on the cap to enhance one's grip when refilling the glass vessel. The cap and two wick holders are 2" high. The glass vessel is 3" high with a protruding 1" long ground glass stub. The device in is excellent condition with no chips or dings. There are some light scratches on the glass. There is an obvious lack of whaling here in Colorado. So where did this come from? Well, it's part of my parents estate. In the mid-1960's(as soon as I went off to college) they bought a very old, actually centuries old farm on Grove Street in Millville, Mass. The place was a fixer-upper that had been in the same family ... morefor at least a hundred years. You will need to fill with oil as I will be draining it to ship. Stands approx. 11 1/2" tall without handle. Glass is 6" diameter widest. Condition is good, glass does have some scratches to it. Also the burner does not connect to lantern, I'm not sure if it's missing some clamps or? Burner will wedge in to place, but, do not move or lift when lit as it could fall out and cause fire. Up for sale is a truly stunning Antique Nautical Table Lamp. This brass lamp has a beautiful lighthouse with keepers house at base and has two Sailboats on the water with sails full of wind. There is also an image of a nautical anchor to the left of lighthouse base. I was told this was purchased in the early 1930's as an anniversary gift. This came from an estate in Dunthorp here in the Portland area. Dunthorp is where the Old Wealth had homes for the early years. This area is still one of the wealthiest areas of Portland. Here is a wonderful circa 1850's tall brass 3-burner whale oil lamp with its original dark patina. It measures 25 1/2" tall x 6 1/4" wide at base. It is in all original condition with a crack in the brass to the lid of the burner(see pictures) It has one loose candle snuffer that was found inside. This one has a very nice scalloped chippendale style base which is more unusual. The stem is a bit bent. But this could be fixed. Pictures should tell the story. Mystery Origin &Age Antique Bronze Lotus Oil Lamp India? Tibet? Buddhist? Hindu?
Description As described in the title and shown in the photos below. This is an a old oil lamp of unknown age and origin. We weren't able to link it up with any closely related examples on the internet but it does seem to be a sand cast bronze that was decorated(engraved& chased) during the finishing process. It weighs approx. 85 lbs and measures about 2 9/16" tall x 2 1/4" wide x 8 1/2" long. The right side has a ring under the lip of the reservoir that may have once had a small ladle chained or tied to it. It is possible it once had a lid also. The decoration is not absolutely clear to us but it may be a enlongated, stylized lotus plant that may indicate it is religious or ceremonial in its use. It seems to have considerable age. Though we don't know if a condition report is required or even appropriate for a ... moreitem like this. We can report that, somewhere along the line, a great deal of force was applied to the top portion that bent the heavy bronze enough to break one of the decorative braces under the top. This bending can be seen more from the side and the broken brace does not effect the structural integrity in the least as it not a fragile item. Sorry, we do not really know how it was used, what kind of oil would have been burned in it or what kind of wick, if any, was used in the flame shapped bowl. It is not sold as a usable lamp but as a artifact of unknown age and origin. Antique Hallmarked Silver Plate Candelabra Lamp Josiah Williams & Co. Late 1800s
Very nice silver plated 4 candle candelabra converted to a lamp. It is hallmarked on the front. I believe it was made by Josiah Williams& Co. in the 1870"s. There are a couple of issues with it. One is one of the three dragons is missing a wing. The other is it is missing one of three small hanging pieces. You can see the other two in the pictures. With the lamp it stands 40 inches and without 25 1/2 inches. It looks like it would be very easy to remove the lamp portion to restore it to it's original intent. Fenton red cranberry and white opalescent hobnail glass table lamp with a milk glass base. In good working condition. Measures 13 inches to to of socket. The glass portion measures 3 3/4 inch tall and 4 inches in diameter at the widest points. The milk glass base is 1 piece and measures 4 1/4 inch tall by 4 inches square. Condition is excellent as there are NO chips. Cracks, internal staining or repairs present. The brass parts are in good condition as there are NO dents, cracks, pitting or repairs, they have not been polished, but would polish up nicely. This is an antique globe lantern with globe red glass. The fuel canister unscrews from the bottom. The internal parts appear to be complete. All parts fit together perfectly.
