To hold small pieces of jewellery probably as the base is covered internally to protect what goes in from touching the metal. There is a makers mark. And a letter h in old font.abit like London 1863 h mark. but also a mans head stamp just above the hinge, so I believe this box is Dutch made and imported into England. It may have started life as a SNUFF BOX and later has had the blue velvet like material put inside. In feint engraving on the underside of the lid. Is the name A. H. Ruiter, 1867. This box measures approx 2 inches x 2 inches x 3/4 inch. In fair condition. Lots of wear, and dints, and the top engraving has worn through the lid creating splits. But I think, give it a quick clean, and place somewhere nice, it's still a nice little silver box. Please see close up pictures for more detail. Antique very large art nouveau jewelery box or casket made in metal depicting the head of a young girl coming out of a flower. The box measures about 8 by 8in by about 4 1/2in. high and is quite heavy 5 1/2 lbs. it's very nicely detailed and made of a base metal, there are no makers names on it only a number but it looks like a piece Jennings Bros. would have made in the 1920s it looks to be in good condition the bottom inside is lined in a dark blue velvet the top is unlined unfortunately it was so heavy that I was afraid it would tear off so I had a jeweler add a pair of chains on the inside of it for support, if you collect art nouveau pieces or just have a lot of jewelry and no place to keep it this is a very impressive piece and is guaranteed to be an old one.

When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. The top dr awer is in the shape of a butterf ly and both drawers have their original hardware. The drawers have hand painted scenes of bridges over water in tones of gold. Black and red. Antique, hand crafted Jewelry. 5 section brass bracelet w/delricate workmanship
Antique. Maticulously hand crafted 5 section bracelet. Each section is 1 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/8" thick and hollow. I'm unsure what the 100s of pieces that make up the design of each section is made off. Pieces appear to be all there and are all still firmly attached to the hollow brass sections. The exact age and maker of this piece is unknown. The style and workmanship of the piece suggest it is at least pre-1920 and possibly american indian in origin. There were no markings or lettering that I could see. The wire that connected the bracelet between section 3 and 4 is still intact(pictured) and should allow for easy repair. FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING

This has lovely wood, and in nice condition. I am not a wood expert, but the top appears to be inlay, and I am not sure what type of wood the top is. I am not sure and the bottom all around is oak. This is a walnut color. The top has t several colors light and dark to the lovely design. The size is measuring at the bottom 12 1/2" long by 9" wide by 3 5/8 inches high. The inside is lined in coral color material and has 3 snap on snap off small sacks with string enclosures and there is a moveable shelf that can be taken in or out. It opens and closes nicely. Gorgeous true-antique. Opalescent, milk glass dresser box for jewelry came from a great-aunt's estate. It is an ornate Victorian oval decorated with flowers and roses on the box and the lid. When the lid is held to the light, the edges glow red and orange. You can see the opalescence in photo 2) The bottom shows a lovely'swirl' of caramel color in the milk glass.
