Tiny bits of black paint are visible on gold backing on back layer of petals. Front layer of petals are red hand painted. One tip is missing 1/8 in of red paint. Small round red stone in center. An oval red stone, another slightly larger round stone, a marquis cut red stone, and finally another marquis cut red stone on the stem. Guessing this is a stylized dahlia? This is an incredible piece. Under my magnifying glass there is a hot air balloon going over the ocean(incl. people. A man in a boat. getting ready to land on the other shore. All of the enamel appears to still be in place. In the insides there are two(looks like) original frames and glass covers. Nice lot of Victorian/Antique and vintage jewelry with necklaces. Pendants, earrings, one bracelet, brooches and pins and lockets. Almost all are marked 1/20 or 1/10 of 10K and 12K. These could be worn, sold, scrapped or kept for yourself. Most are in good to excellent condition. A few chains need minor repairs such as the clasp re-attached and one need a clasp. The fan earrings are each missing one jade stone. The best locket(round Victorian with the horseshoe) needs one paste stone. One smaller locket is missing the tab at the top. All pieces need some cleaning. The lockets do have a few tiny indents and signs of wear. Nothing major and all appropriate to wear and age. Antique 1299 Tribal MOROCCAN Silver Fibula & Huge Pendant Jewelry Dirham Coins
I have acquired a large estate collection of Vintage Moroccan jewelry which was purchased years ago by a US resident living abroad for a few decades. Please check back often for other pieces as there are over 35 pieces in this collection. Chain portion is 26 inches. From coins down is 9 1/2 inches. Weight:5.7 oz. Additional info: The fibula set is a strange mixture of old elements. Again remarkable as a survival of how things like this were actually worn and used by their owners. That it survived intact is amazing. This would have been worn in the same way as the other set with the circular disc, one fibula pinned at each shoulder and the pendants hanging in the middle. The fibulas are one of many small north/eastern types, cute and a near-match, connected to a big fibula chain of the type seen from Essairoua to Risani about 80 or more years ... moreago, with carefully engraved sheet silver covers for the connecting links. The coin pieces(dirhams of some kind) were also sometimes made into fibulas in various parts of the country(including Essaouira, the new name for old Mogador) so they probably came along with the chain. The central bulla-like circular dome I can't really place with any certainty, though it does resemble a kind of temple/headdress ornament worn in some places in pairs. That thing is noteworthy just for its age and true rarity(it's definitely Moroccan) I've seen similarly shaped dome pendants maybe 5 times in all these years and they're absent even from the books that exist. For the most part. The three pendants hanging from it are from further south, the two on the ends having what appears to be real niello(an indication of age) and are a type of supplementary dangle often seen on jewelry of the Ida ou Nadiff and Ida ou Zekri tribes from the Anti Atlas Mountain region. The central dangle seems younger than the two around it(those are antique, I feel sure, as shown by the softly worn edges alone) and seems like the style some call Citidine, but a later version, 20th century, and the newes

Art Nouveau details and the base has cherubs on the corners and flourishes all over. Footed. Unmarked. Red velvet interior. The lid is hinged but not attached. It looks like it could be repaired. All parts of the hinge are still there. The box measures approximately 2-3/4 inches tall by 4-3/4inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. I'm not sure what kind of metal this is.
