Classic Rococo asymmetrical shape with'C' scrolls, foliage and floral swags. The dial is enamel on copper with a gilt brass fretted centre, original blued steel hands and bevelled, convex glass. The modelling is crisp and well detailed with a bright and clean gilded finish. The pendulum can be seen swinging below the dial behind a fretted panel. The movement is by the famous French maker Japy Freres and has their mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and working condition having been fully stripped. Cleaned and tested by our clockmaker. The pendulum is an old replacement. ANTIQUE CLOCK: French Ormolu Case. Gilt Bronze, 1800's. Great Patina,New Movement This is a wonderful Antique French Clock in the Rococo Revival Style. The case is fine ormolu. Mercury gilded bronze. I believe it dates to the 1800's. It has been fitted with a new movement and keeps perfect time. Very often these fine cases were made in France to be exported and sold in the United States. I believe this is the case with this particular clock. As it came from the estate sale of the scion of an old and prosperous Boston family. It is extremely well modeled and cast. Featuring design elements on all four sides. At first glance. These decorations seem to be symmetrical. But they are not. For example. The foliage on the front surrounding the central scallop shell is slightly different from side to side. This is true of all of the foliage ... moredecorations on all four sides of the case. This slight variation from side to side avoids the static effect of absolute symmetry, which can be deadening, even in decorative objects such as this fine clock. At the very top is a wonderful finial. Also asymmetrical, featuring what looks like a Tulip blossom. This rests on a neo-classical, fluted Doric capital. This clock is rather large. Measuring 14 1/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide at the bottom of the front feet and 4 3/4 inches deep between the front and back feet. There is no damage to this clock at all; it stands straight and secure. Some purists lament the fact that I sometimes place new movements in these beautiful old clock cases. But. As is often the case, the original movement of this clock was broken and corroded beyond all hope of repair. So my thinking is that with the new movement, this beautiful object can be returned to its functional purpose; that is, to tell the time. Which is does perfectly and beautifully. This clock has all of the charm and beauty of a 19th Century Antique Clock without any of the troublesome concerns often associated with such. And it never needs winding. I will. This clock is a French clock made in Paris in 1878. You will also get the matching original urns shown with it. This clock set was made by the Japy Freres company. The clock is made out of solid porcelain. Marble, and bronze. The actual weight of just the clock alone is 30 pounds(13.55 KG) The walls of the case are over 1" thick. The glass door in the front is free from any chips or cracks. This clock is in overall amazing condition for the age. This clock is also working. It is complete with the original precision pendulum and key. There are amazing lion head details all around the clock and urns. The urns are actually candle sticks. Antique French figural slate mantle clock 19th
This French mantle clock is made of slate and has a woman carrying a basket on the top. The woman appears to be made of spelter. The clock is 15 inches high. 7 ¼ inches wide and 5 ¾ inches deep. There is an Eastlake style design on the case. The clock has a porcelain face with roman numerals on it for the hours. The face is signed but it has a lot of wear and we can’t read it. The front door has beveled glass. The clock dates circa 1880. The clock is currently running but we cannot guarantee it will still be running after shipment. The movement has the number 363 on it but does not have a maker. The bell has two nuts on it to hold it in place that are not original. There are a couple of tiny chips to the slate case. There is a very tiny chip to the porcelain by the right hole used to crank the clock.

Large antique cloissonne clock. Probably from the late 1800's. 19 inches high and 13 inches long approximately. Weighs 16 pounds. Hand made Cloissonne. Comes with brass key. The clock works but overwinds easilly and then will stop after a short time and I would need to fidget with the pendulum to get it to go for the 24 hours that it can actually do but it can not function reliably without repair. Some small damage to top. RARE Antique French bisque porcelain vase clock garniture mantle candelabra set
French antique garniture set Lovely 3 piece set of a vase clock with matching candelabras. The porcelain is quite thin and has a matt bisque finish. There are flowers hand painted on it. The white color is enameled paint. The main color is a lovely deep sea blue/green. The flowers on it make it even nicer. I have never seen a set like this. Made around 1880-1900. The ornaments are partly made of brass and partly made of bronze. All the ornaments are original and in good. Antique condition, with only minor wear. The porcelain is also in very good condition, with no cracks. The clock dial is made of enamel. It does have some minor damage to it, look at the photo for the details. Antique French Clock Movement Has A great Arts And Crafts look
Wonderful French movement in wanting to run condition. The escapement is in working and the springs are not broken. High grade movement with steel pallets on the verge. The dial is quite beautiful and has what I believe is a arts and craft pottery piece in the center of the dial? I did not take it apart to look to see if it was pottery? Large dial measuring 5 1/2' diameter. The bezel measures 5 6/8' diameter. The back of the bezel the part that fits into the case is 5 1/2' diameter. Very nice high quality 8 day movement. Junk Drawer Estate Find Antique French Brass Marble Ormulos Portico Mantle Clock
This is a very beautiful South Georgia Estate Find. It is French Marble and Brass and very decorative. Yet still has a classic look. I do not know if this tem works or not but, it did seem to be running on the mantle when we bought it. No one at the estate could find the key for it. It is 14" in height to the top of the birds. 9" across the widest part of the base. The clock face is 3 1/2" in diameter. I could find no maker's name or identification except E.P. 7092 on the inner rim, and on the back of the works are 7092 64.One column does seem to have a crack in it but is still tight and doesn't shift. One screw has been replaced in the back casing. Other than that, and needing a good cleaning, it seems to be in great condition. Please view all pics carefully BEFORE bidding. This is very fine and original French 19 th century repeating carriage clock by eminent maker Alfred Drocourt of Paris. France circa 1880. It is in working condition and comes with the original key. It has an 8 day striking and repeating movement with the original platform lever escapement. There is an enamel dial with Roman numerals which is set within a well and engraved around the dial. There is substantial gilt brass case with reeded columns and plain capitals. It is 8 inches tall including handle that lifts or flattens. The clock bears the trademark of Drocourt between the plates of the movement. This clock is numbered 26092. And it has glass on the top and 3 sides so that you can see the clock works. Antique Bronze Gilt Clock Case No Movement French Tower Shelf Mantle
Up for auction is a beautiful case no matter what movement you slide in here! This piece(mind you I am NOT an expert) has a very European look. So I am guessing French. Please take a second(or 20) to look at the designs/patterns and come to your own conclusion. There are 2 stamps inside across from each other. Both markings are the same, it almost looks like a cup or Paul with an S on it. Other than that I have not a clue. But it is beautiful. And it is HEAVY! Antique Unusual French Porcelain Clock & Candelabra Garniture Pendule 19th Cent
Oustanding French 19th Century Porcelain Clock Garniture with Balance Escapement Movement. In Excellent and Fully Working Condition Outstanding French figural porcelain clock with candelabra. Dating to the second half of the 19th century. The clock has a very fine balance escapement movement(thus, does not need balancing to run properly) The condition of this clock is great, the only thing that I can find wrong with it is a repair to one of the candelabra(shown in the last photo) Original gilding has virtually no wear at all. This is really the only clock of its kind that I have seen, normally French porcelain clocks are done by Paris Porcelain in the tradition of Jacob Petit, but this one is quite different and highly unusual. The bronze case is nicely patinated to a medium bronze color. The 8 day time and strike clockworks show the Japy Freres mark. They are clean. Complete and run very well. The clock chime strikes once on the half-hour and tolls the hours on a pleasant sounding bell chime. The clock is in good antique condition. The only damage of note is that the front door does not stay properly latched and is slightly open(see photos) the pendulum is a correctly sized modern replacement and the nut that holds the bell in place is not correct.
