Amazing clock. Looks stunning. Just a shame the escapement is broken. Replacements are easily found online. Comes with the broken one incase you're able to repair it. Its only the spring that's broken on it) Some screws missing and a chip in one glass panel. Someone has tried to clean it with too much brasso but i've cleaned most of it off. The movement is in working condition and comes with original key. The case seems to have had some level restoration by viewing some of the screws and nuts. T he glass on the case door and round piece covering the dial are intact. The movement itself is very clean as some of the gears are bright. It is missing the pendulum which should not be difficult to replace. These picture frame wall clocks became popular around the time of Napoleon III so it would imagine this to be circa mid to late 1800's. I believe it was made in France. The mother of pearl inlay is absolutely amazing. The clock is being sold as is with no returns. Antique French 8 Day Mantel Clock Open Escapement MOVEMENT Only PARTS +Rear Door
From a clock repairman's estate I found a box with this antique French open escapement 8-day 2 train spring driven brass movement with a presumed gong strike on the hour and the half-hour. The movement is stamped on rear plate. 7553" and"7-10" I see no manufacturer's name. Part of the movement is not assembled as shown in the pictures; picture#2 shows everything that is included. I do not know if all the parts included will complete the movement or even if the loose parts are all originally from this movement, so please bid accordingly. I am selling this movement"AS IS/ AS FOUND" from the estate. The large brass dial assembly measures 6-1/2" diameter and the hole size in the clock case would have to be a minimum of 5-7/8" diameter. The rear door measures 6-1/8" diameter and the hole size in ... morethe rear of the clock case would have to be a minimum of 5-7/8" diameter. Both the front and rear bezels snap tightly closed with good hinges. The material inside the rear cover is not original and has some adhesive showing through the pierced cover. The thick beveled glass has some long scratches. The dial surround is gilt as is the center dial plate. The dial itself is presumed slate with recessed Roman numerals that are a gold colored paint. The dial has cracks at the 2. 6, 10 and 12 o'clock position. The hands are brass with a gilt finish. The pallet/ crutch assembly appears in good condition with clear red pallet stones. The loose parts have the following issues. The gear has 1 tooth missing; the fly has a broken pivot; the suspension spring is broken and the hammer has a solder repair where the arm attaches to the mount. Please look closely at the 12 detailed pictures for what is included and its condition. The movement plates measure 3-3/16" diameter and the click spring screw is loose. Antique Fontenoy French Wall Clock with Westminster Chimes
I stopped this listing to update the description of it. This magnificent clock is approximately 32" x 15" x 9" The case is mahogany and will require only very minor attention to get it in almost new condition. The clock has been keeping good time. The chimes strike every fifteen minutes with a combination of the Westminster melody and chimes on the hour and half hour. The chiming strikes the hour at 15 minutes before the hour and the other functions follow in order. The chime hour needs to be adjusted to agree with the hands. This clock is capable of playing a second melody but the little barrel with pins on it does not fully slide into its second position. The hammers. 4 on one side and five on the other, need adjusting. They rub slightly on each other in places and some don't strike the chime rods exactly on center. I ... morechanged this description because I got the chimes to function as above by moving the tune selection lever. After further reading I've learned that this clock mainly needs cleaning and some adjustment. And, as you can tell, I'm not a clock expert. Antique French Carriage Platform Escapement Style Carriage Clock PARTS ONLY NR
From a clock repairman's estate comes this 8 day brass French carriage clock which is missing parts so I am selling it"AS IS, AS FOUND; FOR PARTS" The brass case is in good condition and has a handle at the top that swivels 180 degrees. The rear door is fully functional. The beveled glass has several chips and scratches; there is a 1" high x 1/2" wide missing piece on the left top at the rear of the panel. The top oval glass has only one small chip at the very front. The blued spade hands are mismatched as the minute hand appears hand modified. I am no expert on carriage clocks but I can see through the glass that the entire platform escapement is missing. There are some missing components from the rear plate such as the brass ratchet from the strike side, there are some empty threaded holes and I see no presumed bell ... morefor the strike along with a small hole to the rear of the oval glass in the top plate which I presume was for a push'button' to repeat the strike? There may also be other parts that are missing. By putting a click or two of wind on the time side all the associated gears turn as do the minute and hour hand. The hand setting post on the rear also turns the hands. The white porcelain dial has a large missing piece to the upper left that is approximately 1" high x 1/4" wide. Also a 1/2" diameter arc missing at the top center with hairline cracks radiating down the the hands center post. Please see the 12 detailed pictures to see what is included and its condition. The overall case dimensions are 6-3/8" high(with vertical handle) x 3-1/4" wide x 3" deep. The weight is 2 pounds and 12 ounces. I don't know much about clock parts but this does not appear to have any missing or broken parts, unsure if it works, as is. Appears to be from a large clock, possibly a grandfather clock. Measures 8.5" across face, decorated porcelain about 4.5" square movement frame is 3.75" square, a tad over 1.5" deep, marked 20, Medaille de Bronze, S. Marti. Please see photos for full item condition report. Large steel round with smaller porcelain coated metal center that has an image transfer of a waterside chateau. On the back there is writing in pencil, looks like a name, then"January 1925" and another word, in script.

Antique French 1/4 Repeating Gilt Carriage Clock c.1900 "Corniche" Case w/alarm
Wonderful French Carriage clock in a gilded Corniche case. The clock has 1/4 repeating on demand and Petite Sonnerie striking as well as alarm. The enamel dial is near perfect condition and is signed JE Caldwell& Co. and France. The 8 day movement retains it's original platform lever escapement and original beautiful blued steel hands. The movement is signed JE Caldwell& Co. Philadelphia. 13 Jewels, and A. Ollier, Made in France. The firm of JE Caldwell and Co. was the retailer and presumably A. Ollier was the clockmaker. There was originally a strike/silent lever operated from the bottom of the case which has been removed at some point. But could be replaced. The clock rings the quarter hours at each quarter on 2 gongs and the hours on the hour on one gong. The clock hasn't been cleaned recently but is keeping perfect time ... moreand striking correctly. The alarm also works. The gilt brass case has bevelled glass panels. There is a chip on the right glass. Top right corner; left glass at the bottom middle; upper left side of rear door glass(very hard to see) and a tiny 1mm chip on the front top right bevel of the front glass(you need a magnifying glass to see it) The glass is all original, a replacement bevelled panel costs $30 each. The gilt brass case is in nice condition and retains nearly 100% of it's gilding. The clock comes with correctly fitting modern winding and setting keys. And is ready to wind up and enjoy. Antique French Oval Crystal Regulator Clock Brass Curved Beveled Glass Mantle
Here is a beautiful antique French Oval Crystal Regulator Clock. I am not a clock collector or a clock expert- I purchased this clock at an estate sale. I will try to provide all the details. But please ask if you have any additional questions. The clock appears to be solid brass, and is very heavy. It is marked on the top side of the bottom base'Duverdrey& Bloquel France. I do not see maker information on the movement but do see some numbers stamped on the movement. There are 4 glass panels- all are curved and beveled, quite unusual. The clock measures about 10 1/2" high, 7 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" deep. The porcelain dial is beautifully decorated and marked Baily, Banks& Biddle Philadelphia and France below the number 6. Roman numerals for the hours. Comes with pendulum and key. I do not know if this is the original ... morekey but it came with the clock. Pendulum seems to contain mercury but I am uncertain as to how these pendulums should look. I have hung/swung the pendulum and the clock runs for a bit, changes time, and then the pendulum stops. I have not attempted to wind this clock in any way. I have moved the minute hand and the clock chimes on the half hour and the hour. I will assume that some adjustments are needed, perhaps repairs also. The case is really in nice shape- a few spots here and there, but nothing significant. Very interesting is the writing on the bottom of the clock. I am not sure what most of it means, but there does appear to be a date of 11/7/85- I am assuming that could mean 1885, unless this could possibly represent a service date. There is a very minor hairline on the face- I cannot even feel a crack when I touch it, but I can see it. And, there is a tiny chip in the glass on the back panel right at the top. Antique French MORBIER Country Clock with Repeater Bell Strike. Repousse Facade click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Morbier clocks were made starting in the late 1700's up through approximately WW1. One story has it that they were French country farm clocks. When farmers worked in their fields. On quite small farms, they knew when to come in for a meal or to end their day by listening to the clock ringing. Since they could not be sure they heard the first ring in order to count the hours, the Morbier clock was made with a repeater bell strike that would ring again 2-3 minutes after the first ringing. That way the farmers would know to pause and listen for the second ring to be sure of the hour. The age of this clock is unknown. The decorative repousse facade is highlighted with a large eagle at the top with wings spread ... morewide. The porcelain dial has Roman numerals. The original seller was Chauveau& Delaunay. Apparently located in the town of Ruffec in Southwest France. The clock runs and timing is adjusted by raising or lowering the round bob of the pendulum on a long bolt with a nut. The cast iron weights add together to over 16 lbs. There are a number of imperfections for this 100-200 year old clock. The end of the hour hand is missing. There is a noticeable ding in the brass border or ring around the dial, there is a small hole in the repousse, a few hairline cracks or crazing in the dial, and some rust etc. Since the clock typically mounts fairly high on a wall, most of these blemishes do not draw attention from casual observation. Close-up pictures are provided to allow you to make your own evaluation of condition issues. The price already reflects these condition issues. Antique 19thC Gilt & Marble French Sculpture Maiden Clock
Beautiful French Marble Gilt Maiden Clock Up for bid is a stunning French or Early American Marble Clock. With two maidens holding hands on top. The base is Black Marble with corners depicting 4 figures on the feet. There is a lot of gilt scroll work and gilt ribbon detail on base. Black Marble looks really clean with no chips. The base gilt metal appears to be a heavy metal(bronze or brass) and the two maidens are lighter. Probably a brass or spelter metal. Very clean condition. Purchased from the seller at an estate sale filled with French Antiques. She said it has been in her family since at least the 1920s. Estimated age to be late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Antique French Gilded and Engraved Oval Carriage Clock c.1870 w/Alarm
Beautiful Rare French Carriage clock in a gilded engraved Oval case made c.1870. The clock is a timepiece with alarm. The enamel dial is in very nice condition but I note that it has a crack in the top left corner. And a hairline crack in the bottom left corner, and a few very tiny dings. I have uploaded some very high resolution magnified photos of the dial so that you can see for yourself what the condition of the dial is. I think that it's very good and the flaws don't detract from the beauty of this breathtaking clock. The clock retains it's original blued steel Breguet hands. The 8 day movement retains it's original platform lever escapement and rings the alarm on a bell. The clock isn't signed but is a very high grade French production made for the English speaking market. As the S and F, Hands, Set Alarum indications ... moreon the backplate are written in English. The engraving is of the highest quality. Even the rear door knob is engraved! The clock hasn't been cleaned recently but is keeping perfect time and the alarm also works. The bevelled glass panels are in near perfect condition. There is a chip at the top left corner of the left side panel and some small scratches inside the same panel in the upper half. The gilt brass case is in excellent condition and retains nearly 100% of it's gilding. The clock comes with correctly fitting modern winding and setting keys. And is ready to wind up and enjoy. UNUSUAL FRENCH ANTIQUE CLOCK JAPY MOVT GRO
A very unusual clock case.It has been in my collection for over 20 years and I have never seen anything like it.The movement is a Japy which is French and I have just had it cleaned and oiled last week and it is in god running order.It is an 8 day time and strike.It chimes the full hour on a bell as well as once on the half hour.The case is a ceramic material My guess is it is either of Spanish.Portuguese or Italian style.That guess is based on the visage of the woman's head The case is covered with various symbols which might be considered a religious motif.The trademark in also unusual.It appears to read"jesus" with a depiction of a stick figure man next to the name.I could not find any evidence of this trademark online.If anybody can shed some light on this clock please let me know. Antique-Vintage Brass H&H 1 Jewels French France Carriage Clock w/Original Key
Here's a cute size antique 11 jewels"H& H" French brass and glass case carriage clock with its original double sided key. It stands 5 1/2" high to the top of the handle and it is 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" across the base. We can wind this with the key and it does turn. The other side of the key turns the hands. We have no idea how to start this to get it to run so for the time being. We have to say it doesn't run since there is absolutely no movement. There are a couple of small chips within the beveled rims on the side pieces of glass. It needs a good polishing and it needs cleaning on the inside of the glass.

Up for sale is a rare vintage/ antique circa late 1800s to early 1900s French Spelter Figural Dutch Girl Alarm Clock. The little Dutch Girl is using her umbrella to try and change/ set the time of the grandfather clock. The movement is unmarked as to the maker but I believe it to be made by DUVERDREY& BLOQUEL. The back of the case is stamped. Shown in the last pic- which is for the company FABRICATION FRANCAISE,PARIS and was designed by BAYRE& GUILLEMEN. The clock is gorgeous and is in Excellent Original Condition. The clock works and from what I can tell keeps decent time. The only minor thing to note is that the stem for setting the time is not secured on to the shaft/ it will not stay on if sat upside down- in its normal position- there is no problem. Bezel, face, hands, rear acess door, gong hammer and the key are all in very good condition for the age of item. The spiral gong mechanism gongs the time on the hour and and half hour. FRANCE" is stenciled on the back door. The history that we were given about this clock is as follows: The clock was in the family of Clarence Peabody in Portland. Maine. He was a judge and started a law school which is now part of the University of Maine. The clock was given to his daughter. Clara, in 1906. Clara died a few years ago and had no children so the clock became property of the only living relative. A great nephew. The families information was that the clock was made around 1865.
