To the top is a flaming finial and quiver of arrows with a swag and flowers. The front is blind fretted with a motif of musical horns and flowers. The side urns have rams head handles and pineapple finials. This is a clock set of excellent quality, the white marble contrasts very nicely with the ormolu which is in excellent condition. The beautifully understated dial is white convex enamel. Elegantly lettered, and fitted with the original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glass. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish to the marble. There are occasional light scratches some nibbles to the edges. There is hardly any wear to the original gilding. Very unusual and interesting black mantel clock. Onyx? Slate? Marble? Maybe a combination? There appears to be brick used in the interior of the base. Appears to be gold surrounding the porcelain clock face. it is not tarnished. I have no idea of its vintage or country of manufacture. France? Germany? I haven't seen another. Could be custom-made? Up for bid is this Beautiful Antique Weather Station. It includes a clock that is a French movement, Thermometer, and Barometer. I believe the case is Fruitwood it is highly carved with one chipped piece, as seen in photo#2. It is 24' long and 8 wide at it's widest point. The Thermometer detaches from the body as seen in photo# 6. Condition: The clock worked for years but one day while winding it the spring broke. It is missing the strap that holds the clock in place. This auction is for a mid-19 ... moreth century French Tall Case Clock with hand grained paint that has a carved floral design. At the bottom the artist has added his name. The last name is Luval. But I have not been able to decifer the first name. Originally while the milk paint was still wet the artist scraped away the paint leaving an intaglio floral design. The paint on this 7 foot 7 inch tall pine clock is in original dry condition. On the back there is a missing piece of the backboard near the bottom. The back feet are a little shorter than the front. I have seen this feature before on early clocks that were in early homes with sagging floors. The only way to level the clock was to shorten the back feet. Inside a tin case are the weight driven brass works. These works are complete, but we are missing the iron weights. The porcelain face reads, Landais a Quelaines. On the edge, near the number X& XI, are some very fine lines and there are some key scratches around the right hole. The brass frame measures 12 ½ inches wide by 17 inches tall with a 41 inch long by 12 inch wide matching brass pendulum. Union Square, New York" Le Boutiller& Co was a high end retailer/importer of fancy goods for the ultra rich of the Uuion Square area of Manhattan in the Victorian Era. They were close to the original Tiffany's, Reed& Barton and other fancy stores. They sold a lot of items but they also specialized in Marbel Clocks from France. The dial is also red and black marbel and is carved Clock is dated circa 1880- 1890 The clock is a mantle clock but is technically called a pedestal clock because it was used as a base for a statue that went on top of it. That is why the clock has a hole drilled in the top- dead center. This is an amazing French Portico All Marble Mantle Clock Set. This clock was made in the 1860's- 1890's in France out of the highest quality marble. And bronze decorations. All the bronze pieces were hand gilded with Gold leaf, and every piece you see on this clock is 100% original to the piece, and in 100% original condition. No one has ever attempted to restore it, or re-finish it, which is a VERY rare find with these clocks. The marble is beautiful with white, pink and grays throughout. All marble pieces are also in amazing condition and 100% original to the clock. Included are the two original urns for the clock, there is some stress damage to the bottom most and top most metal pieces from 120+ years of being used, but there solid(See pictures) You usually do not see the original garnets with one of these clocks, most of the ... moretime during the years the clock becomes separated with it's urns, or the urns get destroyed. But these are the original matches to this clock, both marked underneath in the marble with the phrase"Made in France" in the same writing as the clock. One urn has a small crack in the small topmost piece of marble, it's stable, and unnoticeable. The clock itself is absolutely amazing, with 6 tall columns of marble, and the portico style free swinging pendulum in the shape of a basket of fruit, which matches perfectly with the other baskets of fruit on both the urns, and the clock itself. There are two gilded trays on each side of the dial, in beautiful condition, a unique and expensive feature for these clocks. Stings of garland string from one side to the other in the middle of the clock with beautiful gold gilding. FOR AUCTION: This Stunning French Ormolu Spelter Rococo pierced clock. The fine detail suggests the case was cast by a firm well versed in making fine die-castings. The rich gold color of the finish is more than likely ORMOLU or FIRE GUILT. The clock is topped off with a pineapple with all kinds of designs and piercings down to a dog heads on each side with their claw under that foot. The clock has a total of 7 feet holding it up. Antique French Gilt Brass Clock Set. ~ French- Circa 1870 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A very decorative and unusual antique French clock set. Chinese in influence. The clock case is deigned to represent a moon flask with lotus petal decoration around the edge and lotus decoration to the body as blind fret work. To the top is a finial of mythical creatures. Candelabra are similarly styled with three lights on elaborately scrolling arms. The set is modelled in the round so could be displayed on a table but is also quite shallow in depth at only 5" and would therefore suit a narrow mantle shelve. The dial is designed as part of the case. It is deeply moulded in gilt brass and is fitted with 12 individual enamel cartouche letters. It isn't deigned to have a glass bezel. The French movement is of high quality and is ... morein excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. A glorious and early original antique French clock set featuring Sevres style porcelain and cherubs. It is most exquisitely modelled in the classical style of Louis XVI. Finely chased and crisply modelled in ormolu(finely gilded brass/bronze) and mounted with Sevres style porcelain panels. Porcelain has a blue ground and is delicately painted with floral swags. The panel below the dial is painted with a delightful scene of two cherubs. To the top of the clock is a cherub marking off time. Candelabra have porcelain mounted bases upon which stand cherubs, one boy and one a girl, holding the four branches aloft as burning touch é. Branches are modelled as stylised acanthus. The clock sits on its polished ... moreintegral base allowing the reflection of the pendulum to be seen swinging within. This clock set has been impeccably prepared by our restorers and is beautifully bright and clean. Ready to display. The dial is enamel in copper. Lettered in blue with separate minute and hour rings. The finely fretted gilt brass hands are original and the hobnail bezel is fitted with convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of excellent quality and is the early design with silk suspension and outside hammer stop spring. For your consideration I have this Stunningly Beautiful Antique ca. 1890 French Louis Style Bronze Claw Foot Mantel Clock w/Key Circa 1890. This clock is in magnificent condition for it's age of 120+ years old.With Urn Shaped Finial. Dragons/Serpents/Fish on either side.Medusa in the front. This clock seems to be in working condition and keeping time.However I do not believe the pendulum is the correct for this clock. The clock does keep accurate time and chimes as it should.But after running for about 10-15 minutes it stops.May just need to be oiled or something. The Porcelain face does have very minor wear but no visible cracks.Bowl Style Glass.Clock winds easily. Bronze has Exquisite Detail and great Patina.The Claw feet are in great condition.
