Very elegant stunning Arts and Crafts Print Frame Mission Patina Antique
Up for consideration is a antique frame. Arts and crafts style with corner buttons. Clean. Elegant, vintage. I think the photos give a adequate representation of the frame. Outer d is 12 x 18, the inner is 9 x 15. I assume this is a print frame and it currently holds a print but I have had it stored for years and don't recall pulling it out(if the print is vintage but not the value of the piece) but it serves to give an impression of what a nice photo or print would look like in this frame. It is vintage, has corner nicks, but nothing bothersome, however, if you collect only mint items, then this is not. This will required stout packaging to protect in shipping. Antique Arts&Crafts Style Pine( with dark finish) Dresser Harp and Mirror Frame(no glass) I believe it originally was on a highboy style dresser which is a tall narrower width wise with 5 or 6 drawers rather than a 3 or 4 drawer lower dresser. The width of this harp and mirror is about 32 1\2 inches wide which would more than likely be too short for a lower type dresser because they are usually high 30's to 40's inches wide. The measurements are the total height to the top of the mirror from the bottom is about 23" and the height of the post(harp sides) would be 20 3\4" The outside measurements of the mirror itself is 22 1\2" wide and 20 1\2" tall and the glass itself would you get to put in the frame is 20 1\2 x 22 1\2 inches. The original mirror hinges are both there and the back wood supports are also there. ... moreJust to let you know this harp and mirror was made to sit on the back edge of the top thus the support strips which screw on to the very back of the dresser itself verses the type that sets in the space on back and actually screws into the top itself. The arts&crafts connection is the way the two harp uprights are cut as was the style in that era(see photos#4 and#6) If you needed to cut down the width of the whole unit the small extensions on the left and right on the very bottom could be changed or cut back according to your needs. Rustic Primitive Antique Early 1900s Arts& Crafts Era Oak Frame With Print I’m going to the flea market this weekend- so that means lots of new goodies for you! I’m also listing lots of blowout Buy-It-Now sales. So be sure to check out my other items- I’m always happy to combine shipping! I'm sorry about the wacky/literally over the top angle in my photos of this one- this was the only way I could avoid most of the glare. And I don't think my photos do this arts and crafts beauty justice. It's an oak frame from the early 1900s, with a sweet period print of a mother, holding her child with one hand, and holding the listening end of a candlestick telephone in he other hand, up to the child's ear. The frame measures 11 1/8" wide by 9 1/8" tall on the outside, with an inside opening of 7 1/2" by 5 1/2" ... moreThe finish on the frame is black, it's old(not original, I don't think, though) and quite worn, with spots of wear where you can see the grains of the wood, dark spots of finish(like what looks to be a thick drip of the black finish on one side by the corner, that I'm showing in photo 22) light spots, like I'm showing in photo 8, and minor small nicks(like in photo 10) scratches and scrapes- all giving it the rustic primitive title above. That being said, the frame is in excellent solid and sturdy condition, structurally- you can see a little bit of separation to the wood at the corner joints- but they are totally sturdy without wiggle or jiggle. On the back, you can see an old paper board held in by nails as well as an old wire- all may be original- including the print- I did not open the frame to inspect, but it looks like it could be. The print is in excellent condition- I see no rips, tears or issues. The glass of the frame is dirty and needs a good cleaning- you could polish the wood if you wanted to, too- but I'd leave it primitive as it is. This is a lovely old piece. They were worn much closer to the face than today's frames PICS TELL IT ALL Oval Riding temple eyeglasses were common from the late 18th century until after the first world war. Nose pads hadn't yet been invented so the nose bridge was what's called a saddle bridge. Sitting directly on the nose. That caused the eyeglasses to sit very close to the face, limiting the size of the lenses and the frame width. This is why antique eyeglass run small. The temple's were made to curve around the ear so that they wouldn't fall off when riding a horse. They were usually gold or silver colored, Sometimes made of solid gold or gold filled. a heavy plating process where the gold plate is usually 10% of the total weight) With the advent of nose pads in the 1920's, these largely fell out of favor and haven't been manufactured since. A retablo is a traditional Latin American folk art devotional painting. And then often focus on Catholic iconography. This oil painting on tin features a male saint wearing a green cloak and hat, holding a black staff in one hand and a basket of flowers in the other. His staff has either a bell or a pouch affixed to it. The man has quite a content look on his face. He is surrounded by curtains and flowers, and by four panels of reverse-painted glass with vivid and brightly colored flowers against a shining gold background. I believe that this represents Saint Patrick, but this is open to interpretation. This really is a stunning piece of historically important art. ... moreThis retablo measures 15.5 inches tall by 11.5 inches across at the wides part. Where there are wings near the top of the frame. It measures 3/4 of an inch deep. The central painting is on a tin background, and the rectangular panels that surround it on four sides depict vivid, colorful flowers and gold which are reverse-painted on glass. The left panel of glass is cracked and a piece of it is missing. The top panel has a crack in the center but no glass is missing and this hairline fracture will not cause further damage. Aside from this, the retablo is in great condition for a piece of folk art that has spent many years on display. ANTIQUE CAST IRON LL DAVIS LEVEL EARLY TALL FRAME 18 inch FANCY 1860s TOOL RARE
Here we have a truely rare find and that would be a beautiful fancy cast iron level made by L.L. DAVIS. This is the earliest of the Davis levels that is marked as you can see only LL DAVIS and has the so called"Tall Frame" that is about 3 1/4 inch tall only the very earlist Davis levels were this tall later ones were only 2 3/34 inch tall. In 1875 the company was reorganised as the Davis Tool and Level co.As you can see this is one of the first Davis levels. Also is the hard to find 18 inch long size. I would say condition is at least GOOD PLUS, these levels while beaautiful were rather fragile with most suffereing damage such as breaks, this evample has NO breaks or cracks but does have one small chip. Please see my photos.Brass center is fine with clear markings, original vial is fine with a good bubble.I have not tried to move ... morethe center brass vial unit so can not guarantee that it will. Brass is clean but hasn't been buffed or monkeyed with. Cast iron especially along the top and bottom has some old pitting, good bit of loss to the original finish.Not a mint level but still an impressive and beautiful example of a truie classico. and rare. tool that I think you will like. There is a slight uneveness to the copper edge. Unsure if it was made that way. Or sustained a light dent/bend. I like the copper patina so it has not been cleaned. Up for bid is the vintage/antique. ORIGINAL PRINT of a JOHN OVERTON, LONDON 1670"A NEW AND ACCVRAT MAP OF THE WORLD. professionally matted& framed, as seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. I believe this is a lithograph print on aged paper. Signed" in pencil at lower right corner(visible in frame) Marked"SERIES M1- HOFFMAN-LA ROCHE INC. NUTLEY 10, N.J. at lower left corner(not visible in frame, see below) Both frame and print are in excellent/ near mint condition with NO major defects whatsoever. Frame is structurally strong& solid with only very minor/small and minimal cosmetic blemishes(see pics) Made of a heavy/high density wood(exact type unknown) with a gold-tone inner border. Real glass(not plexi) No cracks, chip, scratches, etc. Paper backing was intact when found but I had to open it up to investigate ... morethe map. I did so VERY by carefully running an exacto knife along 3-sides, gently bending the steel diamond nails, removing the cardboard backing and lightly peeling one corner of the print up. I never removed the print from the frame. Photographed the hidden(by mat) text, inspected with magnifying glass for and found dots(which I believe confirms that it is not an original etching) then immediately reversed the process, securing the paper backing with(2) small pieces of tape at top corners(further taping at each edge is recommended but I wanted to leave that up to you) Mat is an unusual woven fabric/fiber material and is noticeably thicker at bottom than at top. I first thought it was surely homemade but the sticker(H. Schaffer Picture Framing in West New York, N.J. see last pic) at rear has me thinking otherwise. Either way, it is unique and interesting and I dig it! The map features some magnificent imagery and it is amazing how accurate it actually is(except that California is shown as an island, haha) I also find it thought-provoking that a mere 343 years ago, virtually the entire southern hemisphere was simply unknown. I bet it bothered map makers of the day

The overall size is 9 1/4" x 11" the opening is 4 3/4" x 6 5/8" and the glass or rabbet size is 5 3/4" x 7 1/2" The frame is comprised of 4 layers of chipped carvings, with the exception of the lower left corner which has only 3 layers. This appears to be in original condition. So the maker must have intended this. Actually I just noticed it. And I've had this for awhile. There are 3 spots that are missing a chip. Henk Bos was born in 1901 and died in 1979. His birth place Huizer. Holland. Heavily influenced by the Classics, he was a man out of time. His work was beautiful and full of color. There are a couple of very minor hairline cracks but no loss of material. The gesso has a shell and rose pattern in it. Very ornate. Then each corner has an added ornate overlay with acanthus leaves and flowers. This would be wonderful to add a mirror and hang it or use it as a vanity mirror. Cast iron frame FLOATING mirror beveled edge vtg wall decor antique black metal
This piece has a cast iron or wrought iron frame that would hang on the wall and the beveled edge mirror fits within the frame. The mirror would rather“float” between the iron frame. It has two decorative hinge type connectors that would secure the mirror. I am not a very“handy” type person and I cannot get the mirror inside this frame. It seems too wide. But I know that is just because I do not know how to secure it. This mirror definitely goes with this frame, so it has to fit. I know a“handy” type person could get it secured. If you are"unhandy. like me, you get 2 cool separate pieces! The frame is a cast iron or wrought iron black metal piece in very good condition– no rust– very good condition. The metal has a twisted ribbon like look. I have yet to find any maker’s mark on this piece. But it could be that I do not know where to ... morelook. Due to the design– a maker’s mark could be hidden. The mirror has a thick rough or scalloped type beveled edge. I was going to say no chips. But on closer I think there may possibly be a chip in one of the scallops. Rather hard to tell due to the decorative cut at the edges of the mirror. Also. As you can see, the silver or mercury backing has worn off in several places. It is an old piece. Exact age unknown– I do not know if this is an older vintage piece. As more of a 1950's Mid Century Modern, or if it is old antique– I assume collectors can tell by the mirror cut and the frame style- Size: The metal frame measures approx 12 3/4ths inches in length. The center cut-out measures approx 6 1/4 by 4 1/8th inches. The mirror measures approx 5 3/4ths by 3 5/8ths inches. It is approx 1/4 inch thick at the edges. Condition: The cast iron frame still looks very good. As you can see. The back of the mirror shows much wear. As stated above, the mirror has a thick rough beveled edge and it is difficult to tell, but there may be a chip on one of the scalloped edges. Hi I have up for auction a antique map from 1894. This is by Johnson and Ward and is of the United States. Has hand coloring and is very cool. It is large as well and is framed. The piece is around 18x26.5 inches. The frame is from the late 40's early 50's. Map and frame is around 30x21 inches. Frame hs nic's and scrathces and dings. Please look at the photo's to see the maps condition. Around the outer edges around the map there is chipping and small tears. Has a center fold which makes me think this was in a book. A gorgeous. Antique, pastel painting. Under glass, of violet bunches of flowers with water bowl, in significant. Decorated. Plast er frame. The painting. 20" wide by 16" high within frame measuring 25" by 20" has the old stretch glass and original frame. The combination of the lovely bunches of purple flowers against a green wall with the wonderful. Gilt plaster, decorated frame really makes for a delicious painting. The frame has been cleaned and waxed, an outside chip on the bottom right corner has been left as is because you won't notice it in the entire package. The painting came out of a local estate with several other pieces of late 19th Century artwork. Happy Hunting!

Normal wear and is in very good condition. It retains it's original gilded finish. Glass and old wood backing. Glass shows signs of imperfections which is common on old glass. Dimensions: 11" x 8" x 1" Rabbet size: 5" h. x 8" w. Circa: 1880-1900 I guarantee the authenticity of this antique as described. A fine addition to any Victorian or modern chic interior. Contains an antique colored print of ABRAHAM LINCOLN marked on the lower center COPYRIGHT 1927 BY FROST& REED(of Bristol England) IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Lower right side is marked T. Hamilton Crawford– see my photo. Also has small printing on the top center of the print“published…printsellers 1927… The antique frame circa 1890’s– 1920’s. The print is circa 1920’s. Original gold tone liner in the frame. Which is dark and has discolorations. DETAILS: The antique print is in good condition. Not faded, not torn, not stained. The print has a mat with hand drawn lines around the opening for the print. The upper left corner of the mat was cut just a slight bit more narrow– see my photo with red arrow. Frame is good and solid– corners are tight. No wiggle. ... moreThe finish on the oak is the original dark oak color– almost looks like walnut when hanging on the wall. The frame has glass and a old stretcher backing behind the print to protect it– see photos of side and back of print. Partial remains of label on backing. Gold tone liner of the frame is also original. With some dark areas and discolorations. MEASUREMENTS: Outer measurements of the frame are 24 inches by 30 inches. Opening for the glass and the print is 20 inches by 26 inches. The frame is about 1 inch deep from the side. The antique print has glass and old backing. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE TOOLED DESIGN METAL FRAME– PROBABLY BRASS– does not attract a magnet. But don’t know for sure. FRAME ONLY– NO GLASS. NO BACKING. Frame weighs about 11 ounces before any packing materials. Frame is circa 1910– 1920’s. Some slight discoloration on the frame– looks worse in my pictures than in real life. Also visible a little on the inside of the frame. Would polish out but I don’t want to touch the original finish on the frame. Raised tooled design on all sides of the frame– even the back. Front is rounded out on all sides and is hollowed out on the back– it must have been made over a shaped surface to give the front sides that raised design. Applied design on the front corners. With the piece mounted by small squares on the inside corners– see photo. MEASUREMENTS: from the outside the measurements are just less than 10 inches ... moreby 12 inches. The visible opening for a picture are about 7 ½ inches by 9 ½ inches. From the side the frame is about 3/4 inch deep measured to the centers of the front. Each side of the front measures 1 ¼ inch wide. Glass and backing slide into the frame from the lower back side– probably had a velvet back with an easel stand. I DO NOT HAVE THE GLASS AND DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL BACK– I AM SELLING THE FRAME ONLY. ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that have some age to them. Antique Rectangular Metal Frame Oval Center Bamboo & Leaf Motif 3" 4"
This antique frame measures approx. Outside; 3" X 4" Inside oval 2" X 3" The construction appears to be a stamped base metal which show very good crisp design of bamboo and leaves. It then appears to have been copper plated or washed, then either nickle or zinc plated(some cooper show thru) The facing is mounted on a heavy 3 layer pressed board frame with backer attached. Inside is blue embossed foil. There is a hihged backer for standing. It has its glass and appears to be all original. This frame shows some wear but is in good condition for it's age.
