A beautiful. Large. 1734 Dutch silver purse frame. Heavily marked with eight date, makers and assay office marks. Richly deco rated with four women; the first is playing an instrument(music) The next one is painting(arts) The third is holding a rolled manuscript and is s itting in front of a world globe(knowledge) and the last is holding a shovel(agr iculture) In between the women the piece is decorated with flowers and a border of vines. The ring at the top frames a seated character with i ts arms folded. The measurements are 6" wide x approximately 4" high and 1/2" thick. Open. The frame measures approximately 6" in one direction and 7" in the other. The weight is 6.2 ounces or 182 grams. The hinges and locking mechanism are in perfect working order. The button on the front is pushed down to open the frame. There ... moreno dents or cracks. Some minor surface abrasions from age and use. THE MARKS Back: The oldest set is on the back. They are stamped in a group of four. The upper left is for Heerenveen in the province of Friesland and was used between 1807-1812. The one belo w that is the date mark and originates in Zwolle. Overijsel(18th century) The"2" indicates the second quarter of the century and the letter"T" is for 1734. The upper right hand one is from Wageninge n. Gelderland(18th century) The lower right is the maker's mark— the"CP" is for Cornelius Papinek who worked in Groningen. Side and Inside: On the side i s the Soldi er with helmet and the letter"E" for Groningen. THis mark was used between 1814 and 1927. On the inside is the Dutch Lion with the number"2" beneath it(1814-1953) This signifies country of origin and 833(83.3% silver. A swordmark(1814-1905) is on the spring mechani s m and right next to it is"R6. no idea what that stands for) All of the marks were identified using two sources. Antique Mid 1800's Mansell Christmas Love Sweetheart Card in open glass frame
This is a gorgeous Joseph Mansell Christmas Sweetheart embossed card. The Mansell name is also embossed below the purple pansy. The photos don't do justice to the intricate details of this card. It is framed in a double sided glass frame so the back can be viewed of the card can be looked at. The card measures 6 3/4" by 5 1/4" The frame measures 11 3/4" by 9 3/4" There are a few sc uffs on the frame but is can be easily touched up or painted a completely different color. This would make a beautiful Valentine's present for your sweetheart. Here is some history on Mansell. Joseph Mansell was one of a few printers licensed by George Baxter to produce prints using his patented colour process. George Baxter and Le Blond are the most collected although there are some very fine examples of Mansell's work. Joseph Mansell ... morewas born in Northampton Square. Clerkenwell, London in 1803. His father was William. He acquired No. 35 Red Lion Square in 1849, from where he carried out his business and resided with his wife, Elizabeth Porthouse and their four daughters. Mansell obtained a license from Baxter around 1850 and his business became known for its embossed fancy stationery goods as well as colour printing. He effectively combined his colour printing with his fancy stationery business and both examples of Baxter Process and chromolithograph printing can be found extensively on his greeting cards. Other items of fancy stationery produced were often cut and embossed work, including reward cards, paper dish-covers, menus, memorial cards, ham frills, stove ornaments, cut tissues and lace papers. Up for sale today. I am offering an extremely unique and beautiful stained glass window. This window is wood framed. It is very large measuring 6' tall x 2'10.5" wide. The frame is a light wood. The glass is mostly a lavender purple and a light green. It gives off a very natural and earthy feeling. Some of the glass pieces are cracked or broken. The really interesting part about this window is in the center there is a beautiful boat anchor with a rope wrapped around it. There are metal rods across the back of this which helps keep its integrity. It will need some TLC and a bit of repair but is otherwise is pretty good condition considering its age and what it must have gone through. Auction is for an antique B&H library hanging oil lamp and it is being sold as found. I didn't clean it or even wipe it down. it is missing the filler cap and globe. what you see in the pictures are what i have and what you'll get. it's about 32" top to bottom as shown. about 18" wide with a 14" bottom globe ring and a 6" top globe ring. it's brass or copper with exception of the chain and wheel hanger and 2 metal ring's in the bottom globe ring. it's also missing the two nut's that hold the frame to the bottom globe ring. don't know much about these lamp's but I'll try to answer any question's. it is sold as is.

The Eagle Brewery was established in Grand Rapids. MI in 1876 by Jacob Veit and Paul Rathman. The brewery was located on the corner of Stocking and First Streets and produced around 10,000 barrels of beer annually. The Eagle Brewery was one of six local breweries that merged in 1892 to form the Grand Rapids Brewing Co. Grand Rapids has a rich history of beer brewing. When the Grand Rapids Brewing Co. was formed. Grand Rapids had at least 7 breweries. A large framed antique photo of a handsome young man. The back of the photo is marked"Waits" and I believe that the first name is William and that this is at least 100 years old. The wooden frame has ornately carved flowers which are in good condition. There is an old wire fixed to the back for hanging. A few"dots" are missing around the inner perimeter near the photo. The wood grain has aged to a dark walnut color. There is no glass in the frame and along the top portion are tiny white specks that might be paint. I picked a few off and they came off easily with a fingernail. The photo is pleasantly interesting and in good condition without tears or stains. Zoom in for the details. Exquisite Antique Victorian Petit Point Roses Oval Frame
Offering an exquisitely worked petit point(20 stitches to the inch) rose needlepoint with a wood oval frame. The frame measures 8 by 10 and is in it's original finish. This is one of a pair(the other is Calla Lilies) that I also have listed. There are some teeny paper flakes on the interior of the frame that I have not tried to remove. A work of art! Shipping will be either Parcel Post or Priority Mail with tracking. ANTIQUE VERY DETAILED HEAVILY EMBOSSED MERIDEN SILVER-PLATE PICTURE PHOTO FRAME
Description: Superb antique Victorian quadruple silver-plated picture frame by Meriden of Meriden Connecticut. The entire body of the frame has an aesthetic high-relief repoussee motif of flowers and leaves. The patina is exquisite. The silver plate is in excellent condition with no visible wear. There is also an old photograph in the frame. The photograph is very old although judging by the womans clothing probably not as old as the frame. I do not know who the woman is. The glass in the frame is the original bevel-edged glass. This frame measures 6-1/4 inches high X 5-1/2 inches wide. The viewable area measures 3-3/4 inches X 2-3/4 inches. On the back of the frame there was originally a hinged stand that is no longer there, and there is a replacement stand which is very old. The solder point that holds this replacement stand has lifted, ... moreand while it is holding at the moment, we can not vouch for how much longer it will last, and the stand is in As Is condition, you will need to replace it. Since the metal plate in back of the photograph lifts out as a separate piece, it is a simple thing to have a new stand made. The only other thing we would like to point out on the condition is that the upper right corner of the box on the back of the frame that holds the picture, has an open corner seam. You can have this closed back up but you do not need to at all, since the function of the box is not affected at all and you will never see this on a table since it is on the back of the frame. The heavy wire spring that holds the picture in the box is original to the frame and is in excellent condition. On the metal plate in back of the picture is the circular mark that says MERIDAN SILVER PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE PLATED with the lion logo inside the circle of words. Above that is impressed PATENTED JAN 14 1890. Below that is the number 5, probably the model number. This is an absolutely fantastic frame. Antique Signed WILLS Victorian Lady Oil Painting on Celluloid in Celluloid frame
Here is an exceptionally beautiful oil portrait- An antique. Ca. 1860-1880 original painting on celluloid of a lovely lady dressed like Victorian royalty in velvet, lace, pearl necklace, earrings and an ornate headband with a ruby centerpiece. She has eyes of an intense blue and dark red lips. This enchanting portrait is housed in the original celluloid frame with the inner matting lined with with brown velveteen and a brass oval with bubble glass over the painting. To the lower right is a signature of the artist"Wills" The painting sight measures approximately 3-1/2" high x 2-2/4"wide. or 8.89 cm high x 6.985 cm wide) in frame approximately 6-3/4" high x 6" wide(17.145 cm high x 15.24 cm high) Celluloid is without cracks or chips, with the exception of one"ding" on the lower right hand corner of frame. ... moreThe paint on both portrait and frame is without peel. The frame is in the original finish, of"faux ivory" celluloid with tiny specks of brown, a green accent line on outer edge, and gold inner and outer edges. I believe this could be the work of Irish dramatist. Novelist and painter W. G. Wills, who for a period, attempted to make a career as an artist. He set up as a portrait-painter in 1868. Despite limited artistic training. He had some success, but his disorderly lifestyle and reputation for missing appointments undermined his career. Sounds like someone I know! VG Old Antique Wood Frame & Tin, Washboard, Murdock & Co Winchendon Mass No 0310
Here's a very nice old or antique wood frame and metal washboard we received recently with some estate items. This one is probably from the 1880's to 1920's don't think much newer and possibly older. It is in nice overall condition though a little wood treatment would help bring out the details of the wood a little better. The maker was E. Murdock& Co. of Winchendon Massachusetts and that might help date this piece. The red lettering indicates this one was known as"Colonial No. 0310" On the back side there is some type of surface decoration or woodburned decoration that is somewhat faint depicting several figures moving about. Not sure what the subject or intent of the scene is. The washboard is about 25 inches tall and 12.25 inches wide, 2.75 inches thick at the top wide piece. No damage noted, should make a ... morenice medium to large sized decor piece though it appears suited to continued use for those who want to build up their arm muscles. Nice. That's about it. Antique/Art Nouveau C1890 Stunning tapestry bag,gold frame, beautiful glass bead
Up for sale is a stunning Art Nouveau Tapestry bag c1890- 1910. The age has been confirmed by an Antique bag dealer. The frame is Gold tone and is in great condition as is the firm clasp on the bag. there are 2 chips on the green glass beads on the clasp. Lining is silk and on the pocket- MADE IN FRANCE- there are a few flaws as there is a stain on the silk- appears to be a leakage of some sort. See picture. The picture on the bag depicts an animal scene of what appears to be a monkey. Lama or goat and a large bird of some sort. The rest of the design is floral/ flowers. There is wear on the monkey as the stitching has come loose on the rear of it. Size of bag: 15.5cm by 15.5cm Chain: 17cm The chain has become detached on one side but can be easily rectified. tapestry colours are of beautiful bright colours/ pinks and blues- main colour of ... morebag is gold. bag needs cleaning and if reconditioned will be a fabulous bag for use or to simply be admired in a collection. Antique Oak Treadle Sewing Machine Drawers, ornate pressed wood fronts, frame
Here are two oak treadle sewing machine drawers in their frame. These old drawers were originally part of a treadle sewing machine cabinet and hung under the top work surface. Now they would be an attractive way to organize all of those little desk items. Utensils, pieces of jewelry, or craft items that gather in your home. They have an ornate pattern pressed into the wood on the front. The drawers with pulls are 13- 1/2" long. The frame is 5- 3/4" wide. And the drawers without the frame are 4- 3/4" wide. The frame is about 9- 3/8" tal l. These drawers are in good condition. With minor wear. The wood has checked(cracked) in a couple of places. 1st photo. Top drawer, 1/4 of the way up and 7th photo, front cross piece on top of frame) Checking is cracking that results from drying. Often(as in this case) it is only cosmetic ... moreand does not affect the strength of the wood. There are water spots inside the drawers. The finish is old and worn. Despite the flaws.
