Offered is a spectacular extra fine large hardstone agate cameo ring. The cameo features a handsome male figure facing left. I believe it is Apollo or possibly Antinous. The carving is excellent. That of a master engraver. It is super detailed with no chips or flatness to the face, which is often seen in hardstone cameo rings. This one has survived the years in superb condition. It is also unusually large for a ring, the face of the ring in the mount measuring 1 1/8 by 7/8" The frame is 18k white gold, stamped inside the band. It has a fantastic openwork shank with branches and leaves. This is an amazing piece of Edwardian period jewelry. The size is hard to measure because the front of the ring is so big, but it fits my fore finger which would be a size 8. It weighs 8.9 grams.
