The Jesus' body is a modenist/minimalist interpretted ... morestyle, and it rotates on a riveted axis in the center of the cross intersection. The stamped trademarks are on the cross, under His legs and feet. There is a silhouetted eagle stamp with the number 4, and a triangular maker's mark that says MEX 925 on one side, and I am not sure how the other letters are to be read. Maker is therefor unknown to me. Similar to a few others that get listed as TAXCO, but this may be from a different city or region. The rotating body is quite unique. The 17 inch long chain has no markings. But has a definite aged sterling silver patina, and does not attract to a magnet. The ring clasp does attract to a magnet, so I assume that part is silver plated. The pendant is 1& 3/8ths inch tall. Not counting the bail. It measures about 7/8ths inch wide. Rich, smooth, aged silver patina with light scratches as seen in my high-resolution pics. I apologize for the lighting variations, but it should give you a fair idea of the finish tones. Vtg 925 Sterling Silver Cross Crucifix Pendant Necklace Mexico Eagle Stamp RARE
Vintage sterling silver crucifix pendant on a fine silver chain. This is a rare. Unique design. The Jesus' body is a modenist/minimalist interpretted style, and it rotates on a riveted axis in the center of the cross intersection. The stamped trademarks are on the cross, under His legs and feet. There is a silhouetted eagle stamp with the number 4, and a triangular maker's mark that says MEX 925 on one side, and I am not sure how the other letters are to be read. Maker is therefor unknown to me. Similar to a few others that get listed as TAXCO, but this may be from a different city or region. The rotating body is quite unique. The 17 inch long chain has no markings. But has a definite aged sterling silver patina, and does not attract to a magnet. The ring clasp does attract to a magnet, so I assume that part is silver plated. The ... morependant is 1& 3/8ths inch tall. Not counting the bail. It measures about 7/8ths inch wide. Rich, smooth, aged silver patina with light scratches as seen in my high-resolution pics. I apologize for the lighting variations, but it should give you a fair idea of the finish tones. Up for your consideration. F rom a recent estate, a beautiful cross from Israel. It measures approx. 2" by 1 7/8" east to west. It has a decorative and huge bale. Ready for your chain! The history of this Christian symbol dates back to the Crusades. There are several interpretations of the meaning but the common understanding is that the larger cross is symbolic of Christ and the smaller crosses are symbols of the spread of the gospel of the church to the four corners of the earth. One variation is that the smaller crosses may be symbolic of the apostolic writings of Matthew. Mark, Luke and John. Since the 1950's this iconic Christian symbol has become a popular and inspirational souvenir of a trip to The Holy Land. Though I have seen hundreds of variations, I have never found one that was themed! Silvertone chain measures 24" long by 1/8" wide; sterling silver crucifix measures 1-7/8" long by 1" across at widest point with a depth of 3/16" Marked/etched ITALY on bottom of crucifix and STERLING on bale of pendant; chain is not marked and we do not believe it is sterling silver. this is a stunning very high quality antique HMH signed sterling silver and cut crystal rosary/ prayer beads. the crucifix is very dimension and has ornate detailing. With an INRI scroll at the top and are hand riveted to the cross. the oval pendant in the middle of the beads is double sided and also very detailed. One side has the Virgin Mary with a detailed border and signed at bottom"HMH sterling" the other side is a portrait of Jesus. the beads are cut from crystal and have lots of cuts in each bead. Kind of like a disco ball look. each single bead also has ornate sterling silver caps. all beads are separated by sterling oval link chains. the piece is in great shape and measures 23 3/4 inches long. the crucifix measures 2 1/4 inches alone. exquisite very rare/ high quality rosary.
