A very finely crafted and quite old Chinese cigarette case- at least 100 years old by our estimates. Possible considerably more. Metal composition- brass and possibly silver alloy. The top is brownish and the bottom silver. Wooden lining inside. Very nice patina throughout and shuts snugly. There is some separation of the hinge. As indicated in images, but still works fine.
