The plaque that it is mounted to has a beveled edge and is original to the half hull but newer screws were added to reinforce it. This piece measures 19 15/16" in length. 5 1/2" in width, and 3" in depth. This piece is in excellent condition with no breaks or repairs and still retains its orginal finish and paint. It is very hard to find a half hull of this age with the original paint and finish. LARGE 31" x 11" x 3/4" P AINTED" MINNOWS" TRADE SHOP FISHING BAIT SIGN. ORIGINAL PAINT. HAND-CARVED WOOD FROM ONE WIDE P LANK. CLASSIC AMERI CAN FOLK ART. One of the last from my collection. Condition is very good with a few scrapes on the back. Minor edge chipping, and one old hammer head ding around the tail mounting hole. The fish body has paint wear on both sides, photo 3 shows the worst where the"S" bends around the body curve. There are no repairs or missing parts. Check the photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. This is a one-sided sign. Back is uncarved with plain paint. There are a pair of nail/screw holes where it was attached to a shop wall- I slipped the holes over small nails for the photos. Fish is carved into bas-relief with rounding; very detailed head and mouth(photo 2) All ... morefins are carved lower as in photos and retain the original scoop-curved wood chisel marks. Wood is all of a single wide& long solid plank. Paint is original and weathered/chipped/pockmarked/pitted but mostly intact. Sign and lettering were hand painted- brush marks show. Not stencil and spray paint. Letters are general balloon type, nothing fancy, pockmarked and eroded but still strong and legible. Eye is amazingly effective in its simplicity. It" POPS" in designer crowd speak. Paint color is a very dirty white(photo 4 and others) Some loss of paint as in the photos. Eye is has a black pupil, dark socket, and a patchy-worn brownish iris. Very cool looking, and real minnows do have that huge bug-eyed look. Maker and original bait shop unknown. There is RTP chisled in the back and then. Stamped a lot smaller underneath, a hard to discern date and repeat of the initials.photos 5& 6) This is from the Chautauqua Lake-Jamestown, NY region auction, but I couldn't find any references for a regional RTP sign maker. Pair of Antique Carved Wood Lamps w/ Original Red Bole, Black Paint & Gilding
This pair of carved wood lamps dates to app. 1920 and are in excellent condition. The wiring is new. And we carefully lacquered the finish to preserve it. There is some minor paint loss, but not bad. The carving sits atop a brass base. To the top of the shade is 21" to the top of the carved arms is 11" the lamps are 9 1/2" wide at the arms. They could have been Italian made bases for cathedral candelabra which were then wired mid century. Wired with new three way lamp sockets. The lampshade shown is one of a pair, shades are not included but can be had for $75.00 per shade. The shades are custom painted oval parchment and are in excellent condition. Up for auction is this old black lacquer wood fan. The 2 sided design has a flower motif on black colored paper with touches of metallic paint throughout. This fan is in good aged condition with no visual breaks or tears. There are a few tiny pin-holes in the paper and the paper has some wear along the fold edges. The fan is approximately 11" high and 17.5" wide when completely extended. NOTE: We believe this fan to be from China- but we can not be absolutely sure. a very rare old painted original'PUBLIC TELEPHONE STATION' wood sign dating from the very early 1900s into the turn of the last century. this is one of the earliest survivors of its kind based upon its characteristics. Early nail frame construction and of the earliest hand painted type face of 1800s era signage. it is double sided however during its long working lifetime the one side has not faired as well to the elements as the other. this sign is in all original untouched condition and of coarse having authentic true age character and age appropriation. this sign was originally a hanging sign and still has its original thick iron hardware brackets on each side. with bracket extension total measurements are 30 3/4'w x 14 1/4'h x 1 3/8'd. this is truly an exceptional early telephone era memorabilia sign for collection.

Antique wood ship's hull. Please see pictures. This is not my area of expertise. So please ask if you have any questions. Looks like a whaling boat to me, but I am really unsure. Measures approx. 18" long, 4 1/8" at its widest point(across the middle) and approx 4 1/2" tall. There is some damage to the front top trim piece. I have no idea how old this ship is, but the paint has a fantastic well aged look. Old square head nails were used in part of the construction of this boat as can be seen in some of the pictures. 1966 Ludwig Supraphonic custom paint burgundy with wood grain
I paint custom cars and build and refinish drums so I have started resurrecting these old shells that normally would be discarded because the chrome is so bad. Now the shells look brand new and have been clear coated with a dupont automotive grade urethane which if taken care of will last a lifetime. The shell has been buffed and polished to a high gloss and the wood grain I did with airbrush and candy black is very faint and really quite cool. This is a great looking and great sounding drum with original snares, remo ambassador reso head and remo renaissance batter head. This is THE model of drum that is on more hit recordings than any other and is the right vintage as well. Primitive Old Wood Sugar Maple Firkin Bucket Gathering Pail Box Old Paint
Up for bids is an old wood maple sugar bucket pail gathering bucket with old thick mustard color paint. It has a make do old wire hanger on the one side near the top rim for hanging. It is constructed with two 3/4" wide metal bands holding eleven slats of wood together. All the slats of wood are notched together. It is in good used condition but looks like someone may have stenciled it at one time on the one side as I have tried to picture. The bottom of the bucket has old red and white paint as seen in the picture.On the sides of the bucket ther are small metal hooks which makes me think it may have had a metal handle at one time.The bucket measures 9 1/2" tall. Is 12" wide across the top rim and is 9 1/2" wide across the bottom. Overall this is a nice solid older piece. Check out my! But is patchy. Sand painting was an old technique of mixing paint with small amounts of fine sand to yield a rough three-dimensional appearance. Sign and lettering were hand painted- brush marks show. Not stencil and spray paint. Letters are classic for the era, ... morerather fancy shadowed three color, pockmarked, peeled, and eroded but still strong and legible. Lettering background is light tan with dark brown shadowing and fine black pinstripe highlights. Most paint loss is where brush strokes overlapped on the letters. One of the four diamond designs is mostly obscured. Blade is carved to a dull'edge' and is painted dirty white-gray to mimic metal. 35" PRIMITIVE HAND-CARVED WOOD TRADE SIGN GRASSHOPPER FISH BAIT SHOP ORIG PAINT
HIGHLY UNUSUAL AND COLLECTABLE PIECE OF AMERICAN FOLK ART: 35-1/2" LONG- HUGE GRASSHOPPER FISH BAIT SHOP TRADE SIGN. ORIGINAL PAINT, CARVED WOOD. Condition is very good with the usual and expected chipped. Scratched, dirty, and roughed up paint on the body and legs. There are no repairs or missing parts(though the antenna is likely a replacement. Check the photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. Grasshopper is carved into bas-relief with rounded body and legs plus separations between abdomen segments. Main body is all of a single wide& long solid dense plank. Legs and eyes are strongly attached from the back by screws- see last photo. Large jumping leg is two secured pieces. Allowing the grain to run lengthwise in each for strength. The joint is invisible from the front. Two screw holes were used to wall mount the ... moresign(photo 4 shows one, other is below the jumping leg'knee. Both have minor rust stains. For the photos I hung the sign by slipping the holes over a pair of nails. There is no damage or rot at the holes, old screw threads show inside. Paint is original and weathered/chipped/pockmarked/pitted but generally intact. Sign and lettering were hand painted- brush marks show. Not stencil and spray paint. The letters are old-school quality- chic with'pop' pockmarks, and wear, but are still strong and legible. Characters are cream white-tan with brown shadowing and black pinstriped highlights. Check the close ups for details. Maker. Original shop, and age unknown; I assigned it to the pre-1969 listing category based on wear and extensive hand work, and would estimate it is from the 1940's 0r 50's. Antique Palladio Italy hand carved gilt on wood clock, reverse paint face convex
Antique Palladio Made in Italy hand carved gilt on wood clock. With reverse painted face and convex glass. The dimensions are 34" high. 15" wide, and 3" deep. The antique clock movement has been replaced with a modern working battery movement. I do not have the original clock movement. There are two small chips to the very bottom finial of the clock, which I find to be noticeable only upon close inspection. I have one of the chipped pieces, which I will include if you would like to perform the repair. I will allow 14 days inspection for return. I would appreciate any shipping/packing advice if you are a collector of these clocks. I want to be sure this gets to you safely, I do not normally deal in this type of item. I welcome all questions.
