A Rare find recently purchased at an Antique Show in New England. This early 1900 century wood sign is advertising Winchester Rifles and ammunition. The sellers informed me after researching this awesome sign. It originated from Star Hardware, which was located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It has all of its original crackled paint with stunning graphics. There are some minor splinters. Also, it appears this was probably a tent sign at one point in time. This wonderful piece measure 21 ¾” x 32” and is one of a kind. Great Primitive Oak Wood Stool with Green Paint
Charming little stool stands approx. 8 1/2" tall. Seat measures approx. 17 3/4" x 8 3/4" Paint shows wear on top& edges. There are a few age related dings. I pictured the most worn corner up close. Also shown is one leg which has a crack on both sides. Upon close inspection. A crack on both sides is noticeable. 1890s FROST'S LEAD PAINT Wood Trade Sign SAND/SILVER LEAF ANTIQUE BUFFALO NY
This is a very old sign advertising'Frost's Flexible Lead Paint. This was from the estate of an Oregon family originally from the Auburn/Buffalo area of New York State. John C. Frost's Paint was a business that operated in Buffalo up until about 1902. When he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to join the Consolidated Paint and Oil Co. This probably dates to the 1890s. This has a textured dark blue paint with sand on the front surface, surrounding what I believe is silver foil lettering, border and embellishment. There is blue over white enamel paint on the back and edges. This is painted on a single wood plank and measures 8 3/4 by 56 in. by about 7/8 in. thick. This has some wear but is in generally quite good condition-some edge chipping and rounding/some moderate blemishes to the painted surfaces. Vintage Bird Picture - Paint and Feathers with Carved Wood Frame
This one is cool. It is a picture depicting an exotic bird. Maybe a Phoenix, created from feathers with a painted tree branch and leaves. The feathers are muted colors of gray, pink, blue-green with black and brown. The bird is actually well done and looks realistic. The frame is of medium brown carved wood. On the reverse is paper backing with an attached hook and a stamp that says, HECHO EN MEXICO" Made in Mexico. The piece measures about 7" tall and 4 3/4" wide. I am selling 24 louvered wooden shutters as a lot. They measure 15 x 55 1/8. They came off of our farm house that is 105+ years old. They are being kept inside and out of the weather. The paint is chippy and they obviously have signs of wear. For serious buyers I will take more pictures and email or send them to you. There are 72 shutters in total. Old. 1890s-1900 ALL SOLID WOOD DEACON'S BENCH. Wood appears to be WALNUT. And has about 3 old coats of paint: Barn red(earliest) then Blue, then BLACK(newest, but still an old coat of paint) Several places have the paint worn. Revealing earlier colors, and some places even revealing the Walnut wood. MORTISED construction. Arms, seat, etc. SEAT is 2-Board. With the one board approx 75% of the seats width. The BACK SLATS are THICK, solid wood, CURVED to accomodate backs, and mortised into the back board section of the seat. BOTTOM is BRACED by a long. LENGTHWISE STRETCHER, which in turn has 4 Perpendicular braces. WOOD is THICK. And entire bench is SOLID, THICK, and not at all a flimsy bench! SIZE: SEAT is 6" long. 19" deep. Beautiful old wood paint bucket with metal bands. This bucket is a Dean and Barry Hi Grade New Gloss Barn Paint. 55 red. The Dean and Barry Co. Columbus Ohio. It is missing the very bottom metal band, and the lid but otherwise it is in excellent condition, bucket does show some red paint on the outside, as can be seen in the photos. Home made and certainly one of a kind. A unique and impressive old time game for a den wall display. This is a homemade precursor to modern pinball games. Either owned or made and painted by James Herrick of Utica NY in 1957. I have no additional information since this was from a downsizing/retirement home moving sale by relatives of an older couple. 12" across and 24" tall. Solid wood(plywood. Wood curved rail and base. Colors remain bright. There are some spotty patches(see photo 10) on the yellow paint. Ball contain rail has splits(photo 11) that do not affect play, but this one is best left for wall display. Three of them have brass or metal insets in the sprockets. The one that doesn't has a metal ring around the small end. All of these have matching size and share the same paint or patina. He measures approximately 17 and 1/2" long and stands about 7 and 3/8" tall. As you can see in the pictures, the wood has splits and there is chewing to the end of the bill. This one is cool. I believe it is from the 50s. Mid-century. It is a picture depicting an exotic bird, maybe a Phoenix, created from feathers with a painted tree branch and leaves. The feathers are muted colors of gray, pink, blue-green with black and brown. The bird is actually well done and looks realistic. The frame is of medium brown carved wood. On the reverse is paper backing with an attached hook and a stamp that says, HECHO EN MEXICO" Made in Mexico. The piece measures about 7" tall and 4 3/4" wide.
