This is a very old sign advertising'Frost's Flexible Lead Paint. This was from the estate of an Oregon family originally from the Auburn/Buffalo area of New York State. John C. Frost's Paint was a business that operated in Buffalo up until about 1902. When he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to join the Consolidated Paint and Oil Co. This probably dates to the 1890s. This has a textured dark blue paint with sand on the front surface, surrounding with what I believe is silver foil lettering, border and embellishment. There is blue over white enamel paint on the back and edges. This is painted on a single wood plank and measures 8 3/4 by 56 in. by about 7/8 in. thick. This has some wear but is in generally quite good condition-some edge chipping and rounding/some moderate blemishes to the painted surfaces. New Hampshire who started in business in 1818. His sons, George and Charles, joined him in the business and then Porter passed away in 1871. George and Charles continued the company under the name Porter Blanchard's Sons. On June 4, 1878 George was granted a patent for this butter churn. The patent dealt with the design of the dasher blades. In addition to the fixed dasher blades there were also pivoting floats. When the churn was rotated one direction the floats helped churn the cream and when the rotation was in the opposite direction the floats would pivot to allow them to work the finished butter. Very nice original painted wooden rooster weather vane. It is signed along the bottom edge with"IRWIN PAGE" in basic block incised lettering. Carved from one solid 12" plank. It has old style fancy fret work tail feathers coped out with carving marks left unsanded(last photo shows the rough carving to round the feather ends) The eyes are carved out on both sides(Photo 4) Partially paint-obscured on one side. No dry rot, but paint is fairly shabby with some chipping, peeling, and lots of age soiling as in the photos. I tested it with a dowel in the mounting hole: rooster is properly balance and spins very freely. Photo 7 is the mounting hole. Worn but not rotted. Please note that this is the top only of a weather vane. No mounting accessories- I slipped it over a dowel for the first picture. Primitive Hand Carved Printing Wood Block~ Antique Textile Stencil Stamp w Paint
Here we have a really neat primitive woodblock printing stencil or press with a diamond design. This press has a super time aged patina. White paint aged to beige and remnants of red paint under the white. It is very heavy weighing 3 pounds 9 ounces. And it was made with three layers of wood. This woodblock stencil has a hand carved& drilled handle on the back with a hardwood insert. The insert is held in with 4 large old wood screws and there are 4 hand made wood plugs on the corners of the insert. There are grooves carved in the left side and old bent nails on the corners. The stencil or stamp face is made of copper and appears to be made by hand with each piece hand inserted. The face is a diamond design with ridges. Bars and there are X's connecting the diamonds. There are quite a few tines in this pattern and only a few of them ... moreare bent. Stamped on the right side in ink is block number"25#1" and there is a"B" in pencil. On the top is a hand carved"25" and on the back an arrow pointing up and"3" in red pencil. This old woodblock has age cracks. Separations, wear and use marks. There is evidence where a few nails were removed and a wire for hanging with older staples. This piece is far from perfect which is what makes it so wonderful. It measures 9 13/16" long across the face. About 7 5/8" tall, 2 1/4" thick and weighs 3 pounds 9 ounces. Antique Wood Medicine Chest Cabinet Wall Mount Old Paint Mirror Door Boston MA

Please check out the pictures– they show how wonderful this old cabinet is. This antique primitive wall mount medicine chest cabinet with mirror door has all of its original paint(at least two coats) and the original mirror. The wood was first stained. Then painted old green, and then the tan or beige it is now– there are some splatters of white around the edges, too. The mounting bracket at the top is brass and is 2 7/8” across the bottom and is 1 3/4” tall. The back panel for this cabinet is a fantastic piece of wood that was most likely used as a shipping carton at one time– ... moreit is marked with the words: hospital. 751 Albany St, Boston, Mass. and the numbers 436 in a circle. This wood cabinet stands 26 1/4” tall from top to bottom. The top piece is 19 7/8” from side to side and 5 5/8” from front to back. And then narrows done to 19” across the front. The middle of the cabinet measures 18 1/4” from side to side and is 4 7/8” from front to back. The base or molding around the bottom is 19 1/4” across the front and is 5 1/4” from front to back. The door is 16 3/4” wide. 23 1/4” tall and is 7/8” thick. The mirror measures 18 3/4” x 12” and is mounted securely into the door. The two-piece latch is fully functional and is 2” long(with both pieces) The mirror is free from any scratches or gouges but there is a very small amount of poisoning in the lower right hand corner. There are also some bits of paint on the surface that will easily clean off. The cardboard backing on the mirror has some old water damage– probably from bathroom steam. There are 3 shelves, including the base of the cabinet. They are all in very good condition, but do show signs of use. Antique Wood Ring Necked Duck Decoy Old Paint Hunting Decoy Broken at Neck
This old Duck Decoys came from a family estate near Chaumont Bay in the northern part of NY near Canada. It was used for hunting and shows signs of being hit with bird shot. It has glass eyes and original paint. The ducks head is broken off at the neck. There is paint ware on the ducks body and the paint is worn off the top of the bill and tip of the tail. The tail has a chip of wood missing. It is a beautiful example of folk art that makes us all feel good to own. It is beautifully aged and worn. I think the original paint is great with the red in particular having a heavily mottled appearance. They used to have felt on the bases and the ends that would meet the books, but most of that is gone; also there are various chips and other wear to the paint, none of which I think are too distracting. Here is a sweet shelf to display something special. It is 17" high. 16" across, and 4.5" deep. The space between the shelves is a bit over 6" so you could display items up to 6" tall here. The top two shelves are just over 3" deep and the bottom shelf is 4.5" deep. The sides have a pretty, curving shape. There are two metal eyes attached to the back so that you can easily hang this. It is lightweight and solid and in excellent condition with a few little rough spots in the paint but no peeling, no missing paint- it looks great! Very good vintage condition with a beautiful shade of hyacinth blue paint which appears to have a satin or semi-gloss finish. This is the kind of shelf that was made around the 1930s-1950s. Vintage 1964 Mexican manual toy. Handcarved and painted. Works fine and is really wonderful with a man and jaguar confrontation. It does have signs of age with paint fading and the man has a stable repair on a leg. It is a magnificent piece of folk art and has a timeless artistic expression. Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! This rustic cutie patootie has character to spare! It's a hand made wood cowboy boot- just a little decorative piece of Western Americana that packs a punch of charm! It measures a petite 3" toe to heel. 1" deep and 3 7/8" tall. It's ... morelight, at under 1/4 lb. You can see decorative carved(or maybe more like pyrography burned? detail on the wood on both sides and the top of the boot- it's all very worn from age so you really have to look for it. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally but I'm calling it shabby in my title because of the almost worn off white paint that it used to have. You can see it on the top of the boot- a creamy white color that appears to have covered the whole boot at one point in time. You only see it in peeks on the body of the boot, and what's on top is chippy and worn. It's not signed by the maker, but does appear to have some numbers hand written on the bottom of the sole- I can't tell for sure because it's too worn to make out, but I think the numbers may reflect a former price? I thought it was just too cute to pass up- it's a sweet old Western Americana piece. Please ask if you have any questions. Listed is a nice. Circa 1880's, antique wood porch baluster, or railing piece. These balusters have many uses. The pieces are all the same, but if you turn them on different sides, you can achieve a different look. The approx size of each is: 21" tall, almost 3.5"one one bottom side, and 3 1/8" on the other side. Please keep in mind( if you order more than one) that the length might differ super slightly. you might have to trim one end to have the exact size. Small 19th C. Soft Wood Hanging Cabinet w. Faux Paint Plus Brass Ornamentations
Purchased this weekend from a local family. This Antique cabinet measures 20" tall. 11" wide& 5" deep. The faux paint is subtle and the dark center section has finely punctured decoration. All the original glue blocks are in place. But sometime someone has locked the cabinet& lost or misplaced the key. The lock was taken out and a turn knob was put on. The brass center decoration is what I think is a woman and the corners are bearded men. The cabinet has great color and the original brass hangers. Nice size dresser box but would also be lovely in any part of the home! I'm not an expert but the glass appears to be reverse painted and is very beautiful with excellent detail. Top pane has a Geisha Girl in a red kimona looking into a mirror fixing her hair. The artwork is very nice. The three side glass panes have Asian designs in blue and gold. I don't see any markings on this item and age is unknown. Inside the box is a place for jewelry- ring holder and a larger side compartment. The hinged lid has mirror underneath. 1940's Original Coca-Cola Wood Bottle Carrier Copper Stencil To Paint Coke Boxes
Here is an old original circa 1940's era Coca-Cola wooden bottle carrier copper stencil to paint black lettering of Coca-Cola on those boxes. The fellow I bought it from bought at a garage sale in Parkersburg. West Virginia. I believe it is probably from that Coca-Cola plant there but can't say for sure. The stencil appears to be copper with a wooden strip on top so it could be layed on edge of box to align it. One side has the black paint over it and the other side is just copper. The lettering has been soldered numerous times over the years to extends its life. You can see this on the black side. The" o" in" Cola" is slightly split apart and needs to be soldered. Otherwise it seems fine. There are numerous small bends, nail holes, solder joints, oxidation and stains. See photos close-up. It measures aprox 9 1/8 ... moreinches tall by 17 1/8 inches wide. pair 11 3/4" wood ladders metal rungs yellow paint toy antique fire engine truck
Very hard to find! I am guessing these are from the early 1900's Pair of ladders for the side of a vintage fire truck older as newer toys have metal I believe they were for a cast iron truck maybe Hubley or Buddy L 11 3/4" length 1 1/4" wide wooden ladders with original yellow paint the rungs are metal and retain some of the yellow paint 9 rungs on each ladder condition: there in a break in the one at the rung holes(I have included a picture) could probably be repaired with glue but will leave that up to the new owner. The wood seems to be strong a big plus and ladder is straight when pressed together at break a lot of toy fire trucks are missing the ladders so these are a great find! free shipping
