Really wonderful vintage necklace and clip earrings set. Definitely Haskell style. But fairly certain it is not. Necklace has double strands of yellow glass beads accented with rhinestone rondells. Center layered drop with glass pearls, glass faux pearl leaves, rhinestones and antiqued gold tone pierced metals. Necklace measures 15" end to end, center is 2 1/4" layered to 5/8" deep. Matching earrings are 1 1/2" Please note- as seen in photo it looks like only one earring has a green glass bead accent. Round Italian Millefiori Blue Red White Glass Bead 39.5mm Heavy Venetian HUGE
This is a heavy monster of a bead. I believe it may have come from a lamp or something similar. But it was found exactly as you see it. The bead measures a hair under 40mm in diameter; it's about the size of a golf ball if not a little larger. As far as I know it's Italian-made and translucent rather than the opaque ones I'm used to seeing out of Venice. Then again I have translucent pieces too(that I'm too busy wearing to get around to selling! The Chinese pieces aren't this neatly done. The primary color is royal blue, with flowers in light blue, red and white. This piece would make one heckuva focal bead, or a really snazzy ornament for a ceiling fan, or anything else you'd like to do with it. It has no chips and no scratches I can find. These are wonderful original vintage cobalt swirl Japanese glass beads. These beads were all hand made. Each bead is unique with its swirling design and they will vary in size. They measure from 10mm to 11mm. You get 16 of these terrific beads in the group. 7175-43. MINIMUM BID: $0.00 In the early days beads were strung on strings and stones were packed in paper. So they may have rubbed against each other and have very very tiny nicks. Some of the foil may have rubbed off the back of some of the stones, but we do try to send you the best possible. Vintage Contemporary Modern Jewelry Lot Interesting old glass bead strand. This is a lot of 14 useable jewelry items. The orange and white strand of beads is very interesting looking up close. The orange beads are very rough cuts. At first I thought several of them were chipped. But upon further inspection, although some might be chipped, mostly it is because they appear to be formed that way, maybe hand cut or formed or carved. Their outside edges are somewhat primitively created, not much symmetry to them but super cool looking and the beads surface is not smooth either, with all sorts of things going on over their surfaces. The white beads have speckles here and there, but some of it might clean off. They, too, are not perfectly formed or uniform beads. I wish I knew more about this type of item, because they seem pretty special to me. ... moreCould they be trade beads of some sort? Strand is long at about 24" in length and they weigh about 2 ounces. They are just strung together and tied at a bead. I would think a restring might be in order, because the string does appear to be old, too. The ceramic lips pin has a corner chip and a few paint chips. But they are mostly to the back and not viewable when worn. The bull pin has some paint loss, but not sure what is supposed to be aged looking and what isn't. wearable as it is. Rare WMF MYRA Glass Bead Necklace Iridescent German Art Deco Nouveau Jugendstil
1918-1929. Germany, Geislingen, WMF. This piece is with original silver tone(possibly plated) chain. With small silver balls beetween glass beads. Myra glass beads(12 pieces) in this unique darkhoney-coloured glass. Petrol-blue iridescent colour. The necklace measures 17 inches long and retains the original spacers. Chain and clasp. The beads range from 8-9 mm. Each of the 12 beads has slight variations in size and color, as each is blown and takes on its own hue and finish. This characteristic is the very reason these necklaces are coveted. Finer with beautiful workmanship and very rare this is understated and refined. Germany, circa 1920's. These pieces were not signed but can not be mistaken for any other! Please feel free to do your own research(it really is very interesting) CONDITION: Glass and chain very good with minimal signs ... moreof use. These iridescent beads are a lovely purple blue oil colour which transform into a honey amber when the light passes through them. I have tried to capture this in the photographs. They also look fab against black. SOME FURTHER INTORMATION ON WMF. This rare Art Deco necklace was manufactured by the WMF factory in Germany. WMF. Or Wuttembergisches metallwarenfabriek, gained recognition for its fine metalwork and for the fine iridescent glass items manufactured during the years 1926-1938. The glass designer. The technique involved the use of a thin layer of silver placed upon the glass surface which is with iridescent metal salts. Rare antique necklace and earring set: Both feature fancy glass beads in a glowing turquoise or aqua blue shade. Necklace also has fancy art glass beads with silver and gold running through them- not sure of the correct term for these beads- I have seen them called wedding cake and/or venetian glass, necklace is a single strand with a neat extra section attached in the front that makes it look like a double strand, it measures about 15" long and the earrings have two dangle strands of the same beads. The smooth round beads are all in great condition for the age- no damage or quirks to mention. The fancy beads in the front of the necklace look to have quite a few chips, crevices, maybe even missing sections of applied decorations. I am honestly unsure if they actually do or if it was just the way that they were handcrafted and are meant ... moreto be that way. Screw together brass barrel clasp is in great working order and the the other metal fittings and connectors are all accounted for and present- but have quite a bit of patina and really show their age- I persoally LOVE that and think that it just adds to the vintage look. You sure could try to clean, remove, repurpose, rework or restring the set if you desried. Same with the earrings- beads are great, free of chips, etc and the metal shows it's age and ear wires are so primative and misshapen- but work just fine. Earrings measure about 2 1/8" long total. All in all an amazing rare antique set. I am guessing 1850's to 1900's in age.
