Bernardaud Limoges Soup bowl, 7 1/2 inches,rare
Vintage Bernardaud Limoges Soup bowl. Very rare- in excellent condition: no chips, stains, cracks, or crazing. This is vintage so there may be some light utensil marks. Also the rims on the backs of the plates show the most wear with occasional scuffing- no chips. We found this at an estate sale in Huntington Beach. Ca and have been unable to identify the pattern. The china has been in storage for at least 10 years and belonged to a famous editor at the now defunct Herald Examiner. I know that it is not a contemporary pattern as I have checked the Bernardaud website. I have also checked my resources of discontinued websites and can not find this pattern any where. I have now written directly to Bernardaud asking for their help in identifying these pieces. This could possibly be a special order china. I have included pictures of the full place ... moresetting and the serving pieces. I have at least eleven full place settings, soup bowls, fruit bowls, and more than 14 serving pieces. The condition is amazing. If any of our fellow ebayers have any insight into the origins of this china, we would be most grateful if you would email us and share the information.
