Here is a pre-1950 Darra Compass Corrector. Sun Compass and Polaris made by Aqua Meter Instrument Corp. Roseland, NJ. A Polaris is a navigational instrument to measure in degrees the relative compass bearing of landmarks. The Sun Compass is also a navigational instrument to measure the compass deviation. Both were vital instruments in determining your position at sea. Now of course they are obsolete because of the GPS system, but still a“must have” for the serious maritime collector. The instrument is used, but in excellent condition. The surface is in excellent condition. The instrument is complete with the extra center Sun Compass pin in its storage place.
