Up for auction is a piece older than the hills! It is an early 1800's W&S Jones compass. I do not know if it is a ships compass or a piece of survey gear. There is a ding on the side of the case but this piece is BEAUTIFUL! Not including the knob or stem it measures 3 1/16 inches top to bottom x 2 13/16 inches across.
