This is a vintage PIC pocket compass that is from around the 1950's. Has a silver tone metal body. Not sure if it's aluminum or what. Has a beautiful crystal with beveled edge that's glows kind of green. The inside face is painted in a gold color, and has what looks to be glow in the dark type, light reflective, dots, and the North hand is painted with the same"glow" color on the tip. Compass measures 2 1/4" across, with stem it's 3" In good shape, just minor metal wear- looks like it's just starting to patina, and a very tiny scratch on the crystal(no longer than 3/16" My dad used to use this when fishing. Works on a flat surface.

Vintage. Small compass. Appears to be very high quality. The only identification on it is the face says"WEST GERMANY" This dates it to between 1949 and 1990. We found it at an estate sale and my best guess is that it dates to the 1950s. The body is made out of brass with a loop at the top for hanging on a key chain or watch fob. The front is covered with what looks like crystal glass. Measures 1" in diameter(2.54 cm) 1 3/4" to the top of the loop, 3/8" thick, weighs about 1/4 ounce(about 7 grams) Condition: Quite a bit of oxidation and some spots on the metal. Antique brass beveled glass pocket compass in functioning shape.Has locking arm. The face says"Made in France" and there is a"88" stamped on the inside cover. This could possibly the production year. The compass does show some wear/patina throughout and has a staint inside the glass and a pice of fuz or somthing like that inside the glass. Glass is intact, and the cover closes well and flush with a slight snap. It measures approximately 2' in diameter and 1/2' thick when closed. I have seen other listing for similar compasses that are stated as being military field compasses, however I'm unsure of it's use or origin besides being labeled"made in France" There is a C M W 89 51 schratched on the back of the case.
