We have been in the second hand business for going on twenty years and have own the store for over 12 years. Danforth 8" Constellation Compass
Danforth 8" Constellation Compass. It is in excellent condition. And as far as I know, has never been used. Stainless steel; capped by a dome head with sliding inner door. I don't have a ton of information on the compass. But feel free to contact me with any questions.

Vintage Danforth/White Nautical Constellation Ship/Desk Compass
This is a old Danforth/White 5" Nautical Compass that works great. I beleive it is made of Brass. It has a Sunshade cover that moves easily and it also has(2) wires under the shade that I believe is for the light. It is marked"Constellation" pat. 2428346 and also has the numbers CB17553. Antique Brass Danforth "Constellation" Compass 7 1/2" Wide Flush Mount Ring-Huge
You are bidding on one antique brass Danforth maritime compass with a large(7 1/2" flush mount ring While it is hard to get the circumference of the globe exactly(caliper isn't large enough) my best estimate with a ruler is 5" for the diameter I know that these came in many sizes however this is the largest I've seen The compass has great detail and the globe might possibly benefit from a good buff- remember that these pictures were taken close-up to reveal all the detail There are no bubbles in the oil and this piece works just fine including the light however I suggest that it be rewired for safety-looks like a simple fix This piece is a whopping 7.5 pounds and is 6.5" in height from top to bottom Again. Vintage Danforth Constellation Maritime 1940's Compass local pickup only
This auction is for a 1940's Danforth maritime compass. We no very little about this piece. It appears to work. The float moves freely. The lens is free from any major cracks. Some scratches near the rim on the right side. It has the word Constellation. It may leak oil out the top gasket because some residue build up on the rim. We are selling as is. VINTAGE 1950's DANFORTH KELVIN WHITE CONSTELLATION COMPASS - PARTS or REPAIR
Found in storage. Looks to be pretty beat up, but may be able to be rebuilt. I don't know the history of this piece. Rim says Kelvin White Constellation Pat 2428346 CB8935. Compass rose says Danforth Constellation and has chip in paint at SE position. No globe. Made of solid brass. Base cover has crack. Actual compass seems intact. Description This is an antique early 1900s large brass ships compass for a binnacle. The exterior brass is marked Kelvin& White which is a great maker of compasses. The compas itself is marked Danforth& White. Constellation. Overall the brass case diameter would take a cover that is 12 inches in diameter. The binnacle is currently 11 inches in height, the glass dome is 7 inches in diameter. It probably once sat on a large wood round pedestal and had a brass cover to protect it. It does have a date of 1899 on it so it is probably made then or a little after. It is fantastic quality and in excellent working condition. There is no damage or repairs. It measures approximately 6 1/2 inches across including the metal(brass) rim. But not the case. Both the light and the compass work great! There are some(cosmetic only) cracks to the plastic base.
