I have for sale a marine compass made in Bremen. Germany by Cassens& Plath. One can read Ringmagnet 2-3 on the compass. It has 2 heavy iron magnetic compensators. One on each side. This compass is quite heavy, near 30 pounds. I may have to ship the 2 iron compensators in a second box if the whole thing exceeds postal limits. I am not a sailor and I know nothing about its condition. All I can say is that it points north whichever way I move the compass. My wife purchased this many years ago in an antique store. When we got it. Someone had painted it in black; I removed the paint down to the metal. I would think that it is made of brass. It could use further cleaning and polishing I imagine. I have included a photo of the underside. There is also a photo of a round thing with wires attached; I know not what this is except to say it attaches ... moreunder the compass.
