Stem embellished with candelabra motifs made up of curls, screaming winged masks, scrolls of leaves, vine leaves and bunches of grapes, interspersed with lighted torches and festoons of fruit, placed above large leafy inserts. The decorative apparatus is completed by a frieze of shells and leafy curls placed in the upper part of the stem.

It features great quality carved and fluted column with large Greek scroll sections. The top portion is supported on a bronze rod which allows the top to swivel to allow easy viewing of the backside of any heavy sculpture or statuary. There are signs of small chips in some places and a crack in the bottom base(see closeup picture) which is normal considering the age. The crack at the bottom is sturdy and stable and is not opening up. As with many antique pedestals. There is a metal rod in the center shaft from top to bottom with wing nuts to keep the pedestal sturdy.
