It is almost square in shape being 24 by 28 inches and perfect for an occasional table. Especially if you let the points hang down by using the cloth cati-corner. It is large in size and so could also be used on a large dining room table as a central cloth under vase or candelabra. The cloth is all metallic gold lame hand embroidered in thick raised stitches that are outlined in metallic gold embroidery stitches. It is criss crossed and edged in very wide gold vestment trim. There are two sizes of trim, inside the fabric is criss-crossed in vestment trim that is 1 in. wide. The edges are finished with more vestment trim that is wider, 2 1/4 in. wide. The piece is finished on ... morethe underside as shown in a cotton print of little girls with puppies and kittens. This would have been a handmade item by a woman for her own home. This is a divine antique lithurgical( french wall hanging featuring deep blue silk velvet draped from a heavy metal frame. It is accented by an ornate metallic trim. Two fine metal tassels, and 4 thick metal pleasant chiming bells. The silk velvet and metallic trim/bells, metal frame, and double metal fringe tassels are circa 1800s, and was made into this wall hanging backed by a later cotton. Civil War Era TinType In Embossed Case Man Wearing Some Sort of Vestment
Here is a beautiful Civil War era tintype in a black leather embossed case. The gentleman in the picture appears to be some sort of lodge officer. Religious leader or dignitary given the vestment he has around his neck. As you may be able to tell, I know very little about this type of photo and not sure what points to describe. The photos don't do justice, they are a bit dark. The tintype photo is in very good condition, nice and clear. Glass is intact in the case. The case shows some wear on the high edges of the embossing. On one front edge of the case, the black leather is off. The two halves of the case are still attached and the spine seems strong. ANTIQUE FRENCH 18th DIMENSIONAL ECCLESIASTICAL VELVET METAL VESTMENT TRIM 21"x4"
This auction is for a lovely antique French dimensional ecclesiastical ribbon trim which has a very Gothic appearance. This is circa late 18th century. It is very aged/patinated in which the silk velvet motifs are worn. The gold metal threads throughout are tarnished, as well as the vestment trim on both edges. The top edge also has some tears(Photos 2-3) This only makes it look even more desirable and rich in appearance. It has a fine linen-like backing and when held to the light, one can see through it. Due to its fragility, it should be handled with care. This does not mean that it cannot be used. It has metal vestment ribbon on both edges and the linen underside depicts the embroidered threads. One can see the very old heavy threads, especially along the edges. They are wrapped with an interesting silk/silken thread on either side of ... morethe vestment ribbon. I cannot stress how wonderful this piece is. The more you look at it, the more interesting it becomes;it is very intricate in detail and simply the best. The M.C. Lilley Manufacturing American Company was the largest and most popular in designing paraphernalia for Fraternal Groups in the late 19th Century until World War I. At a certain point they also made some vestments for religious church use. And this is were this vestment came from: it was given to my mother, in Israel, by the head of a local small church missionary friend. The church items were made for a short period of time(I researched these facts extensively) and this one came with the missionary to the Holyland in Jerusalem. I will gladly provide you with its provenance and name of the original missionary owner, who was a Scottish heiress and daughter of the British Ambassador to Canada in the early 20th Cent. She spent most of her life in Jerusalem as a born again Christian and was my Grandma's best friend. It's entirely ... morehand embroidered. The company employed some Native Americans because they knew the craft of embroidering difficult tasks into fabric. It's in excellent condition for its age, with the tag of the Company still attached. Some breaking and fraying of the top section to it base only at the seams: any professional seamstress would be able to repair this easily. Lovely old French Bullion trim in"old world gold" color. There are 2 layers of metallic trim here. One is bullion and the other is a wider vestment trim hand sewn to the bullion. Very aged with a wonderful Goth/ Grunge look. Over 7 feet in length, actual yardage is 2 yards plus 15 inches. I've shown you photos with and without flash to help you get an idea of what this really looks like. Overall good condition. A few very minor kinks in metal and a couple strands of missing bullion. I had to look and find these issues, otherwise, not noticeable. This was applied to something blue so there's some minor cloth residue on backside. See last photo. Shipping is $4 USA

Here we have an Antique Ceremonial sash of some type. Late 1800s early 1900s, made by Horstmann Bros& Co. Philadelphia. Color is a deep red velvet on the front, red cotton fabric on the back, with a warm golden bronze patina metallic vestment trim, coiled metallic embroidery/appliques, and coiled Bullion fringe trim. The red velvet is in wonderful condition, a couple of surface indintations, the cotton fabric on the back has holes and wear. There is approximately 126" give or take a few of the 2 1/2" bullion fringe trim, totaling around 3 and a half yards if you wished to remove it. The coiled bullion is 2" long, A few bullion fringes missing and a few damaged. The sash measures approximately 72" long and 4.5" wide not including the metallic fringe. This auction is for a gorgeous antique French 19th century intricately woven trim fragment salvaged from a silk vestment collar. Its fibers consist of cotton/silk threads and it is in two different shades of blue on front and underside(see Photos 6-7) The trim has a wonderful texture and the shades of blue are hard to describe. They are truly unique. Please see at a close view with the Zoom lens. It is so unique and simply stunning. I believe that this is hand-woven. But am not absolutely certain. It has such a great appearance in color and texture. This measures approximately x 1/2" It should be noted that this is so much lovelier in person. The photos do not do this justice. Since it has a shimmering quality, is much more delicate in appearance and is flat and thin. It is a treasure.

Vintage Bentley& Simon gown. This piece is in good condition. I have shown in last picture that the velvet that runs down each side.the bottom on one of the ends stitching has come loose. It just needs to be stiched back into place. Some areas around cuffs etc. just show slight wear from the age of the robe. Great gown. Starting it at much lower than other have on here. Initials are on label. Size one size fits most, very generous. I tried this on with a jacket under and it was still roomy.and I am not a small person.
