This was made many years ago by this Sister in Massachusetts at the Liturgical Apostolate Center. It is very plain with a round neck. No pleats, rather long. It feels like a cotton-poly fabric and measurers 44 inches long and 24 inches across when extended so it should fit someone with a 44 to 46 inch chest. Front and back photos look much the same showing some wear but not blemishes. Would work well for an acolyte, seminarian, deacon, priest, or bishop.

It has a square yoke and a nice embroidered decoration at the bottom center(front and back) consisting of a red cross and wheat and grapes. It's an Abbey brand size large. Surplice length in the center from the bottom of the yoke to the bottom of the surplice measures 31 inches. The sleeve length from the seem at the shoulder to the end of the sleeve is 18 inches. Vintage 1920s Sheared Beaver Fur Coat Art Deco Details XL Surplice Fur Coat
Vintage 1920's to 1930's super soft sheared beaver fur coat in the surplice style with a stand up collar. Bishop sleeves and beautiful silk lining with a lovely detailed inside pocket. Very heavy coat, weighing almost 6lbs. What makes this beauty even more special is the art deco streamline wave pattern formed by the joining of the pelts. This pattern repeats at 1/3 and 2/3 of the way up the coat from the bottom. The upper wave pattern just below the bust also carries across to the sleeves and repeats around them. Although, difficult to photograph it is seem more readily in person. Cassock and Surplice Vintage Set

Offered for sale is a vintage set of vestments comparable or superior to new vestments at twice the cost. Have a look at the C. M. Almy website for comparison. The cassock is made of a high quality wool fabric with a Roman style mandarin collar and gauntlet sleeves. There are two side openings with pockets AND access to your trouser pockets. There is also an interior left side breast pocket which I always found a good place to keep an extra pair of reading glasses(it's called presbyopia for a reason! The waist is tailored and there is a"duster" sewn into the hem. So the cassock fits well and hangs nicely. There are 21 buttons that close the front(well, 20, but the missing button does not show when the surplice is ... moreworn) and four decorative buttons on each gauntlet. The surplice is in the Anglican"cathedral" style with full sleeves and a scallop neck. It is made of a synthetic fabric. Probably nylon. Measurements: Cassock- 19" shoulder seam to shoulder seam. 57" collar to hem(back) 24" sleeves, 7" gauntlet, 40" waist. Surplice- 24" sleeves. 40" length. These are well made and cared for vestments that have served me well and will serve you in your service of God.
