Vintage 1857 Silver Plate Goblet Alexander Campbell Cup Chalice Ornately Tooled
You are bidding on a vintage heavy silver plate goblet or chalice that is 6 3/8" tall and weighs 170.5 grams. There are no hallmarks or maker marks. I believe it is heavy silver plate. The goblet is very ornate and has a small diamond pattern on entire surface of cup, there are two rosettes of very detailed leaves, top of base and bottom of cup. The twisted stem has a rope pattern in the twist, a rope pattern around base, and a beaded pattern around the lip of cup. The cup has a shield with a ribbon around it and is inscribed Alexander Campbell, Sept. 22, 1857. The most unusual part of this goblet is that it comes apart into five pieces, held together by a screw from the base of cup into stem and a threaded bolt and nut at the base. The screw has been replaced by a jeweler, as the original was missing and the cup was glued to the rosette ... moreand stem; the repair is to hold all the parts together, unfortunately it leaks liquid. Could eaisly be silver soldered to hold liquid. Some glue residue can still be seen on bottom of cup, I did not try to remove it. There is no real damage to the goblet, it has a very slight tilt to one side; just needs a really good cleaning. Shipping will be priority mail and includes delivery confirmation number and insurance. I do not end auctions early. After searching Google for Alexander Campbell. There were several references that came up of a famous clergyman born 12 Sept. 1788 and died 4th March 1866. This Alexander Campbell was born in Ireland and arrived in American in 1809. He was credited with co-founding the Stone-Campbell movement. Of course there is no way to tie this cup to the Alexander Campbell just described, but it does fit into the correct time frame.

The cup and paten are sterling silver. It has an engraved memorial along the rim of the base. Probably the priests mother or grandmother. There is a diamond ring wrapped around the stem,just above the node which has multple diamonds set in gold. The base has a sterling cross with a small diamond in it as well. The ring most likely belonged to the person who's name is in the memorial on the base. The chalice is 8" tall, the sterling cup is 3 3/4" diameter, the base is 4 2/4" diameter. Up for auction is this lovely religious item It's in really good condition overall. The silver plating shines up beautifully still. There is evidence of wear around the base(in photo) and tarnish bits especially in the grooves but I would think this would polish out. There are also some slight specs over the front but no more than whats expected with age I believe this is a travelling case for a chalice. It has a rounded shape and decorated on the front with an engraved cross and three arrow symbol. The letters"I I I S" are also engraved on- unfortunately I don't know what these stand for The front hinges open to reveal a gilt interior which looks stunning still. This is an absolutely Lovely and Stunning Vintage Antique approx. 1930's"HOMAN PLATE Nickel-SILVER W.M MOUNTS"engraved in bottom) Stemmed CHALICE CUP w/ LOVELY PATINA. Piece number# 00165" which is also engraved into bottom. see scans) This Chalice type Stemmed Wine Cup stands about 5-1/2" inches tall and has a light delicate feel to it. This Vintage Homan Plate Chalice is likely to be from the 1930's. Coctail shaker(9" Stamped 5464, with original lid. 8 martini chalices(5.75" six stamped 5467. Two of the chalices are an approximate match, stamped 5025. All items are the vintage electroplated nickel silver. Company also known as Apollo Silver Plate Co. New York. One of the chalices if viewed from the top appears slightly bent-otherwise not noticeable, and can probably be straightened. The lid to the shaker has dents to the very top and is obviously vintage. The shaker would need cleaning, though the chalises are presentable already.

Set of 3 Corbell& Company Silverplate Goblets of Grapes& Coat of Arms Heraldic Shield design Corbell and Company pieces are known for amazing detail and quality. Produced in the 50's to 60's here are 3 silver plated small goblets by Corbell Silver. I have read that this design is a replica based upon a Regency Silver Wine Cooler pattern from 1806 sculpted by Digby Scott& Benjamin Smith over 200 years ago. These small cordial stemmed cup wine goblets can also be used for a communion cup chalice. They feature grapes and vines on top; a central crest Coat of Arms with leaves, draped Banner, shield with 2 rampant lions opposite an ancient castle; acorns facing skyward and the foot is an attractive repeating pattern seashell scallop or leaf pattern at the base. They are small and measure 3.75" tall each and 1.75 inches ... morein diameter at the top, I think they call this cordial size. Welcome to Joe's Garage Stuff Vintage Repousse India Kutch Silver Fable Egg Cup Chalice Panther Peacock P 90 Description Offered here is a very nice example of early Kutch or Cutch silver that is marked P 90. This is what I am calling a‘fable cup’ for lack of a better description. It shows what appears to be a panther chasing a peacock. The larger top cup has a small house or coop and the panther spying it from under the trees. He runs towards the coop and then leaps into it getting his head stuck as the peacock flies away out of harms way. The smaller bottom cup has the panther. Peacock, coop and trees. All are against a stippled backdrop with intricate scrollwork bands both above and below the scene. Now as to condition: the bowl of the top cup has a shallow dent(see pic) and both the cups are slightly out of round. There are a few ... moretiny nips here or there. But it truly is in very nice condition. It measures approx. 4 3/8“ tall. The larger cup measures approx. 1 7/8” in diameter, with the small bottom cup approx. 1 5/8” in diameter. As you can see by the last pic, the piece was nearly black with tarnish and it wasn’t until I cleaned it did I see the story scene and silver marking. It will need a little more cleaning that I leave up to the buyer. I have seen other cups like this. But never one that tells a story or possibly a fable. The cups have a ram with decoration on the horns. From what I could find these are silver plate with gold lining on the inside of the cup. The cups are in great condition still wrapped in the plastic with no indications that I could see that these cups/bowls were used. The cups come in a form fitted wooden box. The inside is great condition. The outside of the box has scuffs and such. The cups measure 2 ½ inches tall and 3 ½ inches across the top. These goblets hold 8 ounces to the brim. They have no dings or bends. I did clean them with Tarnex as seen in the before and after pictures. These items are an even shiney finish- reflecions are what is seen in the pictures. They do have very light buff marks when examined in the light. Some also have slight discoloration inside. It is a chalice style that has some great art nouveau/deco lines to it. It is marked with the European silver mark and a faint crown emblem that is hard to make out. Hello. You are viewing my auction for an Antique Silver Metal Chalice Vase. This vase has three Engraved English Or German Marks on the bottom rim. I have shown a photograph of them. This is a Victorian style Silver Metal Vase with an Amazing Look. I am unsure of the exact metal composition that this item is made of. It may be silver on copper however I am unsure. It is a large vase that unscrews from the bottom base. The entire item measures 13 and 5/8" tall by 5" across at the bottom with a mouth opening of 4 and 5/8" across. There is intricate detailing throughout the top rim and the base. There is minimal wear present. There are no breaks, bends, or repairs present. Please view all my photographs for further details. A beautiful and rare William IV communion chalice. This piece of fine silver is hallmarked for London 1833 by the maker Henry Deacon. The chalice stands 9cm high and has retained a very rich gilding to its interior. The gauge of the silver is good and the weight is 70g. Both pieces are in great condition and come into in an original antique case. The chalice boasts a sober and stylish design, with fire-gilt silver parts that enhance its beauty. This piece and the paten that comes with it bear hallmarks that guarantee the quality of the precious metal they are made of. This set is a nice antique and a magnificent sacred art piece that has survived to our days in excellent condition and shows off an exceptional beauty. The chalice’s design is singularly elegant. Boasting a sober style with a powerful decorative look. The base’s background is embellished with a squared motive over which a series of symmetrical petals display. These petals emerge from the ... morestem and are decorated with vegetal-inspired motives that remind the fleur-de-lis shape. One of them contains a Latin cross. The stem has two nodes, a smaller one and the main one, the latter with squared background and vegetal-inspired motives. The cup’s base reproduces the motive also engraved at the chalice’s base: a series of crossed petals with vegetal decoration and shapes inspired in the fleur-de-lis. The cup is flat, with no decoration at all and made of fire-gilt silver. The paten is only decorated with a subtle Greek cross and a circle. Both engraved in the center of the piece. The paten and the chalice are hallmarked depicting a Minerva’s head(indicating that the set was made in France) and the other being the silversmith’s mark.
