Old Catholic Mass Set/Sick Call Cabinet Holy Water Bottles Chalice Paten Inri
Wow. I don't know where to start with this wonderful find. It came from a local Estate here and had been in the family for many years. I have listed this to the best of my ability and tried to take many photos. It is sold"as you see it" with normal wear for its age. There are no major things I feel should be noted. Overall it is in great shape. The inside of the box has a iolet like fabric that is lightly tacked to the back, it appears to have been added at a later date however, it looks as if it has been on there for some time now. I am not going to attempt to clean this in any way what so ever. It also has some hankies folded and tucked behind the fabric on the door as well as what appears to be hair of some sort. I will remove if you do not want it left in the box) The back of the box appears to be a velvet like material ... morebehind the fabric/iolet. There are some old old candles as well as a rosary, it is marked Italy on the back and Into on the front. There are two small plates, two Holy Water Bottles which are different. I did not try to remove the Tops for fear of damaging the glass. The one top seems to have a built up residue/tarnish around the cap. The complete set has 2 plates, a spoon, 1 cup, 3 candles, 1 rosary, 2 holy water embossed bottles(that are different) a removable crucifix marked Inri, and the base with the candle holders and shell basin. and a couple of old hankies. The plates and cup are marked on the bottom" Sick Call Outfit" Homan Silverplate"special metal" then with several different markings. The cabinet measures approximately 12" across 14 1/2" tall and 6 3/4 deep. It appears to be oak or maybe pine. The spoon has a cross at the handle and is marked on the back Crown Silver Co. The top compartment holds a chalk ware PIETA(Michelangelo) statue. The statue is the mother, Mary, holding her crucified son, Jesus. The window itself has reverse painting on the glass. This auction is for a Early 1900's Sick Call/ Last Rites Oak Framed Shadow Box with Contents. This shadow box was produce to fit into a recessed opening in a wall. However. In the event the appropriate recess was not available this box also came with a wire for hanging on a wall. This box has the original hanging wire which is still covered by the very fragile and peeling protective paper of the back of the box. The oak frame on this shadow box measures 13.5" x 23.25" and the depth of the box is 3.5" to the top of the frame. The storage part of the shadow box measure 9 7/8" x 4 3/4" and it is 3 1/4" deep. This compartment is fabric lined, which as per the picture shows its age, but the fabric is complete and it is not torn. The brass latch that holds this compartment closed is missing. The contents of this ... morelast rites box include: 1. The original holy water bottle with stopper. Which is embossed with a cross on one side and reads"For Holy Water Keep Constantly Filled" on the other side. 2 The original a crucifix. The brass coating shows some wear. 3. It is also marked with a gold sticker that is a cross in the middle of an M. Original 3" Holy Water Bottle with lid included. The cross and words on the bottle are raised on the glass. Additional glass Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos Holy Water Bottle. Which was made in Italy and has a gold rose shaped cap. Holy water has evaporated from both bottles. Vintage beautiful traditional blue Madonna and Child plaster wall hanging. 9" x 4 1/2" It is in very good condition. There is a small 1\2" crack in the blue paint on the front bottom of the plaster. A little over 1" of white paint has rubbed off on the back of the hanging at the round part ... moreof the forehead. Also included is a Lady of Fatima Madonna Holy Water font. 6" x 3 1/4" The Madonna is surrounded by a grey stone wall and basin with pink roses growing next to it. A Nun is kneeling at the basin. It is 12 1/2 inches high and the wood of the cross is blonde maple accented with black. The Crucifix slides off the base to reveal two candle receptacles, and an inner compartment that still contains the original candles, holy water vial, and visitation instructions! The corpus is bronze and beautifully detailed in the deco style, and the cross is embellished with leopard faux gem accents. I have had many sick call crucifixes over the years, and this is the only one I have seen done in this mid-century style. This is a circa 1900 antique Holy Name. Shrine Shadow Box Prayer Alter sick call box. Hand made of oak, this shrine was commonly used for"house calls" by a priest at times of sickness or death to assist the priest in delivering the Sacrament. The Holy Name Alter was also used for home devotions and was a permanent fixture in many Catholic homes. The framed box was designed to fit into a permanent recess in a wall(like a medicine cabinet) But also has a wire for wall hanging, so it could be moved where needed. Exterior frame measures about 23" tall X 13" wide X 4" deep. The two recess areas containing the sculptures and the sacraments is about 3" deep. The prayer station is large and impressive. The lower box area contains a fold down alter platform held with chain and a latch and features 2 built-in decorative ... moremetal candle holders on each side of the alter. The lower alter compartment would hold a silver dish. A wood crucifix( Not included) The metal detachable candle holders are missing, and candles, or instructions are not included. The wood shadow box holds a reverse painted glass front"Blessed Be Thy Holy Name" and contains a chalk ware statue of Mother Mary holding the dying Jesus figure against a paper background of a church alter. Statue is about 12" tall.Painted in soft pastels and fills most of the shadow box area. I Dream Retro vintage. art. all things cool. For auction is a sick call/last rites crucifix box set. It came from an estate sale. The wooden cross is approximately 14" x 8" There is a hole in the back for hanging on a wall. If laid flat. However, you can open the crucifix by pulling the top part of the cross down. Inside are stored a set of instructions, a glass Holy Water bottle, 2 candles, and absorbent cotton wrapped in blue tissue. Two holes on the side shorter board are exposed and hold the candles. It looks like the set was used at least once because the candles have been lit, but the set is in good overall condition. The plastic lid to the Holy Water bottle crumbled to pieces and the candles have melted together, probably from being stored in a hot attic or something similar. The edges of the Set of Instructions are yellow ... moreand crumbling but this does not affect the text. This is an interesting item and can always be hung on the wall for devotional use. Very Old Sick Call Altar with Crucifix, Votive Candle & Hidden Holy Water Vessel
ANTIQUE CATHOLIC ALTAR Hang on Wall or Set on Table top This is a Gorgeous Altar made to be hung or placed on Table top. It is obviously very old as you can see in the pictures. It's mostly Wood construction with Clear Glass Mirrors on the 2 side panels and beautiful old Cobalt Mirrors in the Center area that forms a Cross upon which Christ hangs. The decorations and writing on the Mirrors are old Silkscreen printing. And says"INRI" as you'd expect at the top, with a radiant sunburst pattern emanating from behinds the Saviour's head. All the printing is in white tho it's faded to a warm off-white over the years with a few minor chips here and there. The Cobalt mirrors tho intact have damage on their reflective backside coating. At first I was wary of warming the wood up too much while burning the candle but I found out that's not really a concern because the wood stays cool. I have never hung this Altar on the wall. Because the back of the center vertical has been glued and repaired and covered with cardboard. It has always been on the bureau as you see in the Pics. Please be sure to do the same until you are sure the weight of the Altar can be hung safely from the Hanger(visible in the Pics) Another great thing about this Altar is that there's a hidden compartment in the back where a small phial of Holy Water can be kept

The 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 Last Supper relief plaque is mounted on a dovetailed mission oak box and stamped inside is"Altar Sick Call Outfit made by the Homan Mfg Co Cincinnati Ohio Pat'd Jan 11. 1910" Booklet is 1909 and front page has torn off but remainder is in amazingly good condition. The wood box is 4 3/4" high x 5" deep x 6 1/2" wide with a 3/4" beveled attached wood base, pull out cardboard type drawer(cloth tab worn off on 1 drawer) and the top metal part with heart is 5 1/2" high. Inside 1 drawer is the original communion cloth, silver plate for cotton and salt marked on bottom quadruple and inscribed on top IHS with grape and wheat design, silver handle w/cross holy water sprinkler(missing bristles) and, I don't believe this ... morecame with the outfit but there is a small silver case w/1" Joseph w/baby Jesus inside(bottom of it is marked Germany) which was held by the recipient. Antique Vintage Sick Call Last Rites Death Silver Wood Box with Crucifix & more
This is a vintage unrestored wood cabinet priest sick call or last rites box with all of the components. Many of which are silver plated. The base of the cross and the cup are stamped with an anchor logo and states“Anchor Silver Plate Co. Special Metal, Quadruple Plate” From a search on the internet for Anchor Silver Plate Co. I found that this company was in business from 1898-1905. The cabinet, two plates, spoon, brush, and holy water bottle have no manufacturer marks. See notes below regarding defects; it appears that this sick-call box/last-rites box was used often. This vintage religious kit can make for a lovely display and conversation piece once it is restored. The cabinet is 14.5” high by 12” wide by 6.75” deep. The crucifix on the candle base is 12.75” high. The two plates are almost 5” in diameter. The bottle is 3.5” high, the ... morespoon is 6” long, the cup is 2.75” diameter, and the brush handle is nearly 2” long. The wood cabinet will need to be refinished for original appearance. Or left as is for an antique appearance. The wood appears to be an oak. There are two small holes side by side on the right door that were probably used for a handle or sash to secure the door during travel. The base of the cabinet is bowed/warped downward at the front about 3/16 of an inch. All four hinges are present. But four of the small nails are missing on the bottom left hinge, and one of the small nails is missing on the top left hinge. The“IHS” strap on the inside of the right door is ripped in half. The one on the left door is still in tack. But could probably rip too if not careful. Each of the pockets on the inside of both doors have a tear in the purple fabric. Vintage Last Rites Sick Call Oak Box 8pc set
A chance for you to own this vintage"Last Rites" box made to take to the homes of the sick and dying. Last Rites are administered by Catholic Priests. There are 8 pieces. Including the box, which I believe is oak. The box contains two candlesticks which are some type of heavy metal painted gold. Two beeswax candles which have been used, a Crucifix and 2 bottles which traditionally contained, Holy oil and Holy water. now empty. All are in good vintage condition, the box has a dark area on the cover. The box measures 12 x 10 x 3.5 inches. This is as found, I have done nothing to clean or polish it.

Up for auction are stamped 1909 Homan's Alter Sick Call Outfits. The 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 Last Supper relief plaque is mounted on a dovetailed mission oak box and stamped inside is"Altar Sick Call Outfit made by the Homan Mfg Co Cincinnati Ohio Pat'd Jan 11. 1910" Booklet is 1909 and front page has torn off but remainder is in amazingly good condition. The wood box is 4 3/4" high x 5" deep x 6 1/2" wide with a 3/4" beveled attached wood base, pull out cardboard type drawer(cloth tab worn off on 1 drawer) and the top metal part with heart is 5 1/2" high. Inside 1 drawer is the original communion cloth, silver plate for cotton and salt marked on bottom quadruple and ... moreinscribed on top IHS with grape and wheat design, silver handle w/cross holy water sprinkler(missing bristles) and, I don't believe this came with the outfit but there is a small silver case w/1" Joseph w/baby Jesus inside(bottom of it is marked Germany) which was held by the recipient. According to the book the removable altar lights, crucifix, holy water glass bottle and 2 wax candles are missing from each one. These items typically went missing. The bowl on top of one has broken off but is included(looks like it at one time had been soldered) and there is wear to bottom of wood boxes. ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS SHADOWBOX CATHOLIC ARTIFACT LAST RITES SICK CALL BOX HAND PAINTED GLASS AND OAK BOX Up for auction is a beautiful antique religious Catholic artifact that is made of solid oak. The top portion is a shadowbox with a statue of the Pieta Shrine. Along the bottom of the glass is written"Blessed Be Thy Holy Name" The glass is hand painted to simulate stained glass. The shadow box measures approx. 22 3/4" x 13" wide x 4" deep and is in very good condition. The bottom portion of the box is a small cupboard space with the door hinged at the bottom. And brass chains attached to the sides. It is held closed with a small brass button snap at the top. A picture of The Last Supper is behind glass on the front of the cupboard door. The opened cabinet reveals a storage space measuring approximately 5 1/2" ... morex 9 1/2" x 3" It holds a small monogrammed stainless steel plate(I H S) a vile marked“HOLY WATER” and a Bible. There are two ornate brass candle holders which are held in brass hardware on each side of the box. The back of the box has a wire for hanging. There is a small bit of paint peeling at the top of the glass but overall it is in very good vintage condition. This is a very beuatiful and unique religious shadow box.

This box was commonly used for the"house calls" by a priest at times of sickess or death. This framed box has a wire for wall hanging, so it can moved to where its needed. The exterior frame measures about 23" tall X 13" wide X 4" deep. All measurements are approximate. The areas contain sculptures and some candle fixtures.
