ANTIQUE CHINESE BUDDHA SHRINE PAGODA WHITE AND GREEN STONE JADE JADEITE
Offered here is a nice green and white shrine pagoda with a pure white figure of Buddha inside and dragons on the top. Dating to about 1900. This intricate shrine is carved out of nicely veined stone from very dark green to white. The finial has two dragons carved on either side. The shrine or pagoda has the appearance of tiles and each of the six corners has a dragon. The side panels are pierced and carved with 10 scrolled dragons. The front and back are cut out to reveal a pure white Buddha inside. The fence on the bottom is also pierced with scrolls. The underneath is veined with white to a very dark green black mottling. I believe this carving to be Jade or Jadeite and the Buddha White Jade. This is a very Hard. Stone. Size: 14 1/2" tall x 6 1/2" wide Condition: one of the dragons tail is missing on the finial. Vintage Carved Wooden Shrine Cabinet 24 x 12 x 12 inches
This vintage carved wooden shrine cabinet stands 24 inches tall and is 12 inches wide and approximately 12 inches deep. The doors are hinged. There are four wooden carved panels at the top and base. The top panels have small interior circular sections with carved flowers with a small brass wire inlay. Photo 5 shows an oblong carved inset with the brass inlaid flower and vine. Each of the four identical panels is essentially constructed with four rectangular panels. One at the top and one on the bottom. Each laid on their sides, with two vertical panels side by side between them. These panels all have a brass inlaid design. Photot 5 and 3 are the same color as 1, 2& 4 but the flash has altered the color appearance. I have made no attempt to"tap" the inlay wire back in place where it is coming out. There are small brass knobs ... moreon the doors. Essentially the carvings are a combination of leaves, flowers, vines and medallions. The cabinet could be used as a shrine for any faith. Cabinet is sturdy although reenforcing screws have been installed in some places by a prior owner. There are imperfections and a couple places that show small cracks. Weight is 13 and 1/2 pounds. Antique Large Zushi Wooden Japanese Buddha Buddhist Altar Shrine Edo Period
This Buddha is in fantastic condition for its age. It stands 18 1/2 inches tall. The gilded surfaces are caked with soot which could be cleaned but I prefer it as shown. There is some paint loss on the right wrist. The right knee and several chips on the base. There are six panels on the lower base that are missing and the very tip of the back plate is gone, also there is a repair where the back plate fits into the base. The back plate is removeable and does fit snuggly into the base. Please see all photos. This piece is between 250 and 400 years old. It has two stones inset into the head one is a clear crystal and the other is a purple stone(amethyst or Tourmaline? Writing can be seen on the underside and a signature(I think it's a signature) can be seen inside the hollow base. Posted with the

Antique Japanese 1800's Buddhist Zushi traveler shrine
Purchased in Japan in 1945 this miniature Buddha temple. Altar, shrine is exquisitely carved, gilt designed interior doors which close for traveling. It measures only 3.1 inches tall and 1 and 7/16th wide when closed and 3 1/4 when open. Buddha with rays above and an animal below him is standing on an intricately carved platform. He is magnificently attired from which some of the gilt has worn off over the years. This 1800's temple from the Meiji period was carried by a traveling monk for prayers. It is in excellent condition.

It was made entirely of Japanese Cryptomeria wood and its age old patina reveals the years of loving use and display that it had. The lift out door has a right sided Triple Tomoe design made of a thin round metal that distinguishes this shrine as relating to Shintoism. Within the shrine is a lucky talisman charm ... morethat was attached to the interior that translates to read"Prayer requesting the protection of the Great Sanbo Kojin. Sanbo Kojin is known as the God of the fire. The kitchen and the cooking hearth. In modern times he is also known as the Kamado-gami or the God of the stove. This shrine was most likely hung in the kitchen of an old Japanese farmhouse as protection from any accident and as a prayer to the Gods. With some of the covers showing minor shelf-wear. They range in date from the early eighties to the start of the 21st century. Almost all of them have their‘Prices Realised’ lists. You can see in the photograph whether this is true or not. You can assume that if the Prist List is not showing in the main photograph. Then it is not included. I am now adding the extra possibility of sending one catalogue at a time as a letter. The maximum size of a letter with PostNL is 380mm X 265mm X 32 mm. The price to send one catalogue(registered and insured to the maximum of 50 Euros) in a Padded(bubble-wrap) envelope. If it is below 2kg, is as follows: Within the Netherlands: ... more7.50 Euros. Europe: 9.50 Euros. Worldwide: 16.00 Euros(this equates to $21) In future I will be quoting this as the postal price. Except in the case of the Volume weighing more than 2kg. Silver color belt buckle is 1.1/4" long and just under 2.1/2"wide has no markings on the back and there is some discoloring on the back like dark water marks a good clean may take it off. This is an outstanding ethnographic spiritual relic imported from the Senufo tribe of Mali. It's a vintage ancestral funerary shrine that has been carved from a heavyweight forest wood. The main figure of the shrine stands in the center watching from sacred space. There is a cotton cloth attached at the top which can be lowered over the figure so that he can"rest" when not being attended or petitioned. There are carved guards standing to either side of him at the edges of the shrine as well as other spirits protecting from the sides and top. This shrine has a magnificent presence and measures 20" in height by 10" in width and depth. Rare vintage chalkware Jesus& Mary shrine with Holy Water Font and Votive Candle holder. Beautifully detailed old Catholic vintage chalkware. Jesus and Mary stand on either side of the font. Jesus is pointing to the Sacred Heart in his chest and the Virgin Mary is pointing to her Immaculate Heart. In-between them is a votive candle holder and a holy water font. Topped with a wooden crucifix. This piece is estimated to have been made in Italy in the 1950s or 1960s. Devotions to both the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary became more widespread after Pope Pius XII encouraged the joint devotion to the hearts in 1956. It is only marked with"copyright 914" Guessing it was made in Italy and sold through Boston Statuary or one of the other Catholic religious supply distributors in New England. MASONIC ZOR SHRINE 1979 GLASS MUG 13 OZ! I stuffed the glass with white paper in some of the photos so the lettering could easily be read. Zor emblem is on the front of the glass in black on a red fez with the date 1979. Underneath in black letters it reads Dr Harris E Keel. Other side of the mug shows the offices and who held them in that year. Glass is 4" tall with a 3-1/2" top diameter. It has never been used. It just sat on display in a home bar for many years. The second book has some foxing around the edges and the slick finish pages on the inside have a small amount of spotting. Really they are not as bad as this discription makes them sound.
