The necklace measures 32" Includes 76 fetishes ranging in size from 1 1/2" to 3/4" Many different types of animals such as bears. Wolves, turtles, foxes, armadillos, birds, rabbits, and many other types I haven't identified yet. The necklace weighs 122 grams. Here is a nice old. Hand carved, Santo Domingo Pueblo genuine turquoise disc bead necklace with silver beads near the top. Excellent condition but could use a polish. I do not know if the silver beads are Sterling. Hand strung on traditional cotton thread. 23 1/2" long. Turquoise discs graduate from 3mm wide to 9mm wide. All are in wonderful condition and a wide variety of blues and greens. Good luck bidding!

Vintage Rare piece hand made by Native American Henry Rosetta. Genuine turquoise heishi discs and sterling silver necklace. These discs are THIN and smooth. Hand drilled and graduate from only 4mm to 11mm and are only 1mm thick. Each piece in harmony with the next, an incredible amount of work went into making this piece, and the blue color of the turquois e is outstanding! Sterling silver marked caps. One with a single jagged cut piece of turquoise on top, and marked HR on each, and with original extender chain. Piece measures 23.25" from end cap to end cap, and 28.5" is the entire length. Offered at auction. From my mothers collection of indian jewelry, this natural Blue Gem Turquoise 2 strand Jacklas with the orange Coral beads. The choker is 17 1/2" long, has 26 sterling silver beads, 13 on each side of the choker. The turquoise color is not as accurate as I would like from my photos. Color is more Aqua than blue shown in photo, the coral is orange. The jaklas were taken from a large Santo Domingo multi strand necklace featured in a 1970's Arizona Highway Magazine all on turquoise indian jewelry. Not sure what year and month. This wonderful old hand carved bird fetish necklace measures 32 inches from one end to the other. There are two widths of spiny oyster heishi beads. 9 MM at the center and 4 MM at either end. The center turquoise tabs measure 1 1 1/2 inch long by 1 inch wide and there are 3 turquoise bird fetishes on either side. The biggest birds measure 2 inches long and graduate down to 1 3/8 at the ends. The necklace terminates into sterling cones with hand made hook and eye clasp. These are all strung on brown cord. A few of the birds have faint hairline cracks, as seen in the photos other than that this necklace is in wonderful shape. The weight is 168 grams. EARLY Santo Domingo Red White Heart Trade & Sterling Silver Bench Beads 9 Strand
Welcome! This fantastic Santo Domingo necklace was made of ancient red white heart beads. Which were trade beads from the mid 1800s. Interspersed are a few blue trade beads and a few striped ones. They are all small and delicate looking and also interspersed, strung between the beads, are several different hand made sterling silver bench beads, which also have considerable age. The silver beads are all different shapes and sizes but are all very fine and they date from different periods: from 1890 to 1920. Yes, everything in this necklace is very old, with all the contents dating from mid-1800s to as late as the 1920s. The necklace closure is a traditional squaw wrap of cord, so there is no closure: it goes on over the head. The necklace was made in the 1970s and I'm sorry I don't know who made it any more. I bought it from Ann McMackin, ... morewho showed fine quality Native American jewelry throughout the country and brought her show to New York from time to time. I bought this necklace from her in the 1970s and she mailed me at my request some extra beads from which to make earrings but I never did that. I can't guarantee to find the envelope she sent me but I might be able to find it and to include the extra beads.That's not guaranteed, but the mailer with the beads was seen here from time to time, and currently isn't in view, but if I find it, I will give it to the buyer. Modern Santo Domingo Pueblo Signed Numbered Pottery Dinner Plate Oxblood Glaze
A beautiful modern looking piece of Santo Domingo pottery. I wish I knew who the artisan is so that I can credit them as it is signed. But I cannot make the signature out. It looks like Gina, or something similar. This is a dinner plate, with oxblood red glazing. The white painted edge is not glazed. There is a number, which is 128005, and a sticker notating the source. This has a gorgeous iridescent sheen. It measures about 10.5" across, and 1 1/8" in height. c1920 Santo Domingo pottery basket,polychrome,large flower,7.75 inch diameter
This pottery-basket is so yummy. My gut says it has had some restoration. But I don't know enough about it to say what or when or even who might have done it. Pottery of this age has so many inconsistencies. Potters weren't turning them out by the bezillion with huge competition for the tourist dollar. The clay was hand selected, not commercially procured. Any firing would have been in an oven with little control of the temperature. In the forming of the piece, the potter would have been pinching and stretching and smoothing with her own hands. There would very likely have been blobs of clay worked into the piece as the potter decided she wanted more flair or more thickness in the handle. This is what pottery was like since forever. We are out here in West Texas and purchased this piece of pottery from a local estate. It"taps" ... morethe same tone all the way around and over the top of the handle, so maybe no restoration. There is no signature anywhere, but that's nothing out of the ordinary in a piece of pottery of this age. It would be way more unusual if there was a signature. I see other Santo Domingo pieces from gallery sites that are clearly from the same artist. Those specialty galleries date this pottery c.1920, so, nearly 100 years old. I don't see pottery from this period signed. Highly decorative and distinctive, maybe intended for the few tourists in the early 20th century, but might have been for the artist's personal use of course. I ship by FedEx and the post office. 1930s SANTO DOMINGO MUSEUM DE-ACQUISITION NECKLACE CERRILLOS TURQUOISE 210G BEST
Welcome! MATERIALS: Natural Cerrillos Mine Turquoise and Sterling Silver with coral. Shell and Sterling Silver. Four Sterling Silver beads, two Sterling Silver cones and Sterling Silver hook and eye closure. Strung on cord. This is a stunning early heishi and natural turquoise necklace with some natural coral and sterling silver beads and a pair of cones at the terminals. I purchased it at one of the Museums of the American Indians in New York City and it was a museum de-acquisition. At the time I was told more about it but I don't remember and I just remember paying a lot of money for it because it is spectacular. It's strung on the original cord and I wanted to make it into two strands rather than one. Because it's quite long and I often wrapped it twice, but I never had it restrung. The colors are completely knockoout. The ... moremany shades-from blues(light and dark) to greens(light and muddy dark) and matrix from black through browns and tans and even bright yellow, are all consistent with Cerrillos in its many variations. The largest turquoise bead is over 1-1/16" in diameter and they graduate down, but there's a huge amount of astonishing quality turquoise. The total length is about 40" long and the weight is an astounding 210 grams. The weight is pure natural turquoise. It's strung on string, so you're not getting weight from anything but the turquoise. Four silver beads, four tiny pieces of coral, the cones and the hook and eye are the only other things. The rest is pure natural amazing quality turquoise. It's a major necklace. There are four sterling silver beads, two large ones, matching, and two others, matching each other. These particular silver beads(2 kinds) are only consistent with a time frame from around 1930 to 1935. The turquoise disc beads at the terminals are not an old cut, and began to be used commonly in necklaces of the 1930s.
