Here's a fabulous bracelet by Santo Domingo(Kewa) artist Anthony Lovato. The huge stone is a boulder opal that is shot throughout with purples and pinks when direct sunlight hits it just right. You can see a little of that in the pic but not as much as is there. Made in 2003 this bracelet has Lovato's famous inner petroglyphic artwork and the outside is his creative corn motif. It is a tad over 5.5" on the inside end to end with about an inch opening at the back. It is about 1.75" wide in the middle where the stone is. This is a top quality piece! Vintage Santo Domingo Natural Coral 4 Strand Necklace Heavy 146 Grams
This is a listing for a vintage 4 strand natural coral necklace. It's squaw wrapped. A traditional finish for a Santo Domingo tribal piece, but the four strand beaded design makes it a wardrobe basic in any collection of jewelry. I bought this many years ago, in the mid 80's, from a collection of old pawn pieces, and there were many pieces from the 70's and earlier. I would estimate it's age to be from the 70's. Necklaces were rarely signed back then and I don't know the maker's name. The necklace is in wonderful condition with no damaged or missing beads. The wrap is quite worn, but is still intact and very functional. The total length of the longest strand, including the wrap and the beads, is approximately 28 inches, so the necklace slips easily over the head. If one measures the length of the beads alone, without ... morethe wrap, the longest strand is 20 inches, one strand is 19 inches, a third is 18 inches and the shortest is 17.75 inches. The necklace could easily be restrung into a 4 stranded necklace with a clasp of your choice. But the squaw wrap is very soft and comfortable. The beads are barrel shaped and graduate in size. The largest focal bead on the longest strand measures half an inch in length and width, with the remaining beads gradually becoming smaller. There are many many very large beads on this necklace, more than I wanted to count, and it weighs an impressive 146 grams. The beads are a brilliant orangey red shade. Each one was hand cut and polished. Making each one slightly different from the next. But as a whole they are beautifully matched for size, shape and color. They all have the surface irregularities that gives natural coral it's personality and each one took a superb polish. This is a rare and valuable necklace both in the quantity and quality of the natural coral. It just isn't out there anymore. People keep it in their collections. It's a delight to wear and to own. Here is a 1935-40s Santo Domingo polychrome seed pot coil built and hearth baked. Features a red slip over beige clay& stone burnished to a high sheen. Seed pot was then hand painted with white in a traditional pueblo design of twin peaks and flowing waters. In good vintage condition. Some visible scrapes to the white design. The pot is finely crackled. An indication of early date. No cracks, breaks restorations or repairs. A prior owner/collector varnished the upper half to prevent further losses to the design and the varnish is slightly yellowed with age but does not detract from the overall beauty of the seed pot. This pair of Santo Domingo turquoise tear drop hoop earrings belonged to my mom. She acquired them in the late 60's. They are a light to medium blue with dark matrix turquoise heishi beads and clam shell heishi beads in the center strung on waxed string. The sterling silver cones and wires appear hand crafted as well and has a stamp. Which I believe to be the hallmark, of saguaro cactus with a mountain top in behind it. Very beautiful turqoise tear drop hoops well crafted and beautiful on.

Santo Domingo Turquoise Inlay Thunderbird Necklace -Vintage from depression era
This rare and unique necklace is from my mothers collection and was originally purchased in the 1930's on a trip through New Mexico. It has a Thunderbird pendant with Turquoise inlay that measures approx. 1 ¼” wide by 2" tall. It also has 8 tabs. 6 of which also have turquoise, white, and black inlay, with two plain black tabs. During the depression when materials were hard to come by they made the inlay with whatever material was at hand. Often the Black was made from auto battery casing or vinyl records. The White was often plastic spoons or gypsum and the Red was also plastic ware. Both the red and white on this piece seem to be plastic. There are 5 tan beads spacing each tab with 26 on each strand above for a total of 102 beads which are from some type of bone. Most probably the leg bones of a bird. The tabs measure 1' ... morelong by 1/2' at their widest. It has been restrung on plastic line- so it is not on its original string(as shown in pictures) It has some areas that are a bit dirty with age. So could use a professional cleaning. The inlay is delicate so it will be sold with all patina so the buyer can decide to clean or keep as it is. I can find no pieces missing on any of the tabs or Thunderbird pendant.

LARGE OLD SANTO DOMINGO RED CORAL NECKLACE WITH BRASS INLAID BEADS TONY AGUILAR
Item Description: This fantastic coral necklace was made by the famous Santo Domingo Pueblo artist Tony Aguilar(1919-2002) Tony is known for his expert mastery of brass and beautiful combinations of brass with coral and turquoise. This necklace has 4 strands of coral with large coral inlaid brass round beads and long brass stamped beads. The cones at the clasp are signed with Tony's hallmark and also handstamped. The necklace measures 29 inches long. The coral beads range in size from approximately 1/4 to 3/8 inches long. The large brass circular beads which are inlaid with coral measure almost 7/8 of an inch in diameter. The smaller brass beads measure a little over an inch long by 1/8 inch wide. The necklace weighs 5.3 ounces or 148 grams. This is truly one of Tony's outstanding pieces and it is in great condition and ready to be ... moreworn. Tony Aguilar is considered by collectors to be a true master jeweler. His work is varied and shows a combination of expert traditional techniques with new stylistic designs.Tony was born in 1919 at Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. He was born into a family of jewelers including his own father and his uncle. Vidal Aragon. And Tony continued his studies with a Navajo jeweler while he attended the Santa Fe Indian School. He was the president of his class at the Indian School and entered the United States Army during World War II. During World War II Tony was stationed in Iran. While in Iran he admired the heavy, ornate jewelry designs of Middle Eastern jewelry and returned to the United States highly influenced by those jewelry designs. The resulting jewelry that Tony Aguilar created post World War II was often bold, big and brass with intricate stampwork and large natural turquoise stones. Tony's frequent use of brass was quite exceptional, for brass is actually very difficult to work with and very few jewelers can create brass jewelry that does the metal any justice.
