Offered here is an early pre-1906. New Langdon Mitre Box Improved model, size 1, with an old Disston backsaw 11 tpi(24" blade) I do believe the saw was issued with the miter box since stamped into the bluish cast steel back is: Langdon Mitre Box Company, Millers Falls, Mass. the blade also has a nice old Henry Disston& Son's, Keystone Saw Works logo. Fragments of the original factory paper label is attached on the back side it lists 3 different patent No. the last one being#272.903 issued Feb. 27, 1883(sorry the photo of the label didn't turn out the best) The miter box weighs almost 16 lb plus the saw weighs another 3 lbs. One of the wooden bed-boards is not the original; everything works very good and there are no missing parts; please be aware that there is an old weld by the front post/extension( wider boards can be cut ... moreby loosening the screw and pulling the saw guide out. This specimen is larger than average size for the species. It was found on the North Shore of Oahu in 25 feet of water in open sand. VINTAGE Dunlap Adjustable Mitre Box#3634 from the early 1950s. It says that it works with any ordinary hand saw or solid back saw. And the instructions for set-up are found on the bottom of it. The base is wood and the back and guide are metal. It measures approximately 18" X 6" X 7/1/2" There are a couple of little sawing marks on the base as well as a dark ringed stain. But otherwise it's in great shape. It was my Dad's and he always tried to keep the tools in pristine condition. Blade is sturdy and straight, and saws with a nice smooth action. Some light rust on the main housing, and some on the saw. Stands on four feet that can be bolted to a bench. Dimensions of mitre box are 18 3/8" long X 9-12" deep[depending upon angle] X 13" high. Saw is 31 1/2" overall length. Blade is 5" high[not including the handle] and the cutting edge is 26" long.

Vintage Disston Hand Backsaw Mitre Tenon Back Saw 14" Long 13 tpi No. 4B
In fair-good condition. A Disston 14" long back saw with a good blade and handle. There are 13 tpi(teeth per inch) and there are no broken or missing teeth. The blade height is about 4" There is some staining on the blade but that does not effect utility. Small stable crack in the handle near the top small screw as seen in the third photo. This is an original Stanley#400 Miter Vise with the tilting and pivoting head. This Stanley vise will accept frame stock up to 4 1/8" wide and it holds the stock firmly at a perfect 45 degree angle while you finish your joint. This vise will hold the work for gluing. Nailing, cutting, or sizing. The tilting head makes it easy to tilt the work for nailing the sides of the joint. I've taken every part off this vise and cleaned each one with gentle hand techniques. I've oiled where necessary and everything moves as it should without impediment. All parts are original and in top working condition and there is no damage. Repairs, or issues with this vise, other than some chipped paint in a few small places; its in excellent condition. This miter vise is also mounted to a very nice oak board for stability and ease of use. This is included ... morewith the vise. This vise shows normal wear.
