It's a white bisque porcelain with gilt details. It measures about 8" tall and the condition is wonderful considering the age, it has no chips, no cracks and no repairs but there is wear to the gilt trim. Expect the signs of wear for something that's true vintage or antique. I haven't cleaned it, but I will tidy it up before shipping, and it will be a great addition to any collection or to use and display. Feel free to ask me any questions. This is an extremely rare antique 18th century handmade silver over bronze portable pocket holy water font. it is completely hand hammered and formed from thick bronze and is completely hand engraved with an abundance of very interesting detailing. it has a great patina from age and done in a nice circular format. the box has a sterling overlay and black enamel. it has two holes in the top which fit two fingers perfectly. the top and bottom are riveted together and the top spins opening one or both holes. inside is a piece of cotton that is exposed when opened. it measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter and in great antique shape. Lets start with I was raised Lutheran but have a great affection for icons but I know very little. But I know alot about other things. And this is a lovely piece. I'm not sure if this is for flowers plants or holy water. The reasons I think it might have been for holy water is its age. That fingers fit perfectly, and there was no lime scale like there would be if it was used as a planter. The bisque& the number only mark on the bottom is what you see with turn of the last century German& French pieces. Southern Germany- Bavaria has a large catholic population. The center(smaller) cross is champlevé enamel on what I believe, again, to be bronze. Holy water font has a hinged flip-up lid and is lined with white enamel. Beautiful petite size and lovely coloration on this piece! It measures: Overall size is 4-7/8" high, 3-1/16" wide. Green onyx is 5/16" thick. Holy water font protrudes 1-1/8" Center cross measures 3" high and 2" wide. Ring on back for hanging on wall. Condition: Overall good antique condition. Except for shallow chip(measuring about 1/4" in the upper right corner of the green onyx cross and a bit of roughness and a few fleabites along edges of the onyx. Also, it looks as though ... morethe onyx may have moved slightly lower than the metal(bronze? back. Antique Mexican Holy Water Bottles
These are very rare holy water bottles hand made in Mexico in the late 1920's. They are exquisite and in superb antique condition. The patina. The colors, the primitive folk art designs, and the size- one is 13 inches tall, the other 12 inches tall- make these bottles truly unique. For a collector of Mexican folk art, or religious objects they would make a great addition. Over the years so many visitors have commented on them. We will miss them but want them to go to a new home that will appreciate them as much as we have.

This is a splendid little medieval Christian pilgrim's ampulla. A portable container for holy water. It measures 1 1/2 inches long. Circa 1300 AD. This example, as with others found along the Thames and in similar conditions, has a very nice patina, however is pressed flat. One side has an interesting collar-like design and the other side is a scallop shell design. Beautiful & Well Made Vintage Antique Brass, Ormolu & Marble Holy Water Font
This is a beautiful antique home holy water font that is made with marble. Brass and glass. The font has a beautiful and delicate depiction of a dove holding an olive branch descending towards a cut glass demi lune font. The glass font is secured with a beautiful gold ormolu brass collar that is held in place with a rosette flower on each side. Behind the dove is a large olive branch that has a ribbon tied on its stem. The dove sits above the back olive branch secured by a metal ring that is soldered in place so the dove has a 3D effect. The background is marble or another type of stone. It is not plastic or anything faux. The back plating is solid brass with a ring for mounting on the wall. The top and bottom of this brass plate is a little bent but this is not noticeable from the front. There are a couple of flea bite chips to the marble ... moreor stone's edging and there is one flea bite chip to the very center point of the glass font. I tried to show these in the last pictures and none of these imperfections is glaring or obvious. The size is approximately 5 1/2" tall x 2 5/8" wide x 1 1/2" deep. This sweet vintage Holy Water font has been carried and used for years and is from a family devoted to their faith. I feel this piece presents as a wonderful vintage relic. The font is glass covered with metal that I believe is brass. The cross is cut out of the metal allowing the glass underneath to show. Holy Water" is engraved. Such luscious detail. This Spanish benitier, holy water wallfont, or fountain is impressive for its size: a full 21 inches tall by 13 inches wide. It is pure creamy white flowered elegance. There are 3 white roses making up the central decor with acanthus swirls all over and wrap around the base of the water basin. The basin itself is a large shell. The fact that there is no obvious religious symbolism(aside from perhaps the three roses representing the holy trinity) is unusual for a Spanish piece but its overall beauty makes it a versatile decorative piece. It is marked on the back. Impressed into the clay: MADE IN SPAIN. There was The finish on the glazing is thick, bright and richly glowing to reflect the forms. This piece dates from the 1890's and is in truly wonderful condition. Approx. 4 1/4" tall. No damage, and the Radiant Cross has no wear as many do. The back of the bottle is plain. There is inside whitish stain from the Holy Water evaporating over and over for the past seventy or eighty years. If you put water inside, it doesn't really show up.
