Vintage Ornate Roman Catholic Fiddleback Chasuble Priest Vestment Made in Paris. The chasuble is embroidered in multicolored thread on a beautiful emerald green background. The robe measures in the back from the neck 39 3/8” and from the shoulder 43 5/8” long. It is 26” wide. The cross on the back is 39" x 22" x 8" It is composed of sheaves of wheat. Grape clusters, grape leaves and swirls and banded in a 1” wide ribbon. The front of the vestment from the neck measures 28” and from the shoulder 32 ¼” long. It is 23” wide tapering down to 14” wide. The front has the same embroidered designs as the back. The outside of the chasuble is a patterned emerald green, probably cotton, and the inside is a plain lighter green cotton. It is in very good condition. Antique vestment chasuble embroidered Crown Staff Flowers Beautiful!
We do not know much about this beautiful vestment. It is lined and has beautiful embroidery work! It looks vintage but it does not have tags so we have no way of knowing its age The material is satin or silk. Or both. There is a water stain on one shoulder. Please look at all 12 pictures to get more detail. It does look high quality and is heavy being a bit over 4 pounds. The embroidery looks excellent and there are no tears and only the one small stain I can see. I have not seen a vestment like this!
