The Bishop& Babcock MFG. Co. Cleveland. Metal plate(appears to be copper) with porcelain company logo attached. Plate is diamond shaped with holes at each end for mounting. The porcelain center has the company name along with a large red cross in the center. This company manufactured mechanical soda fountains around the 20's until? I do not know the date of this particular piece, but it appears old. Condition: Porcelain area is in very good condition. Metal piece on which it is mounted is discolored. But is a bright copper color under the discoloration. Piece was manufactured with a very slight curvature as if to mount on a slightly rounded surface. Size: Metal piece from point to point is approximately 6 3/4" long. And 3" wide at the center points. I always leave things such as this as is so if you want an old look you have it. The lid appears to be brass and could be easily polished if desired and the dirt can be removed. It measures 8.5" high from base to top of lid. From base to bottom of top support band is 6 7/8" that is the part below the soda fountain top. Up for auction is an intriguing vellum manuscript. That has possible connections to Richard Sterne Archbishop of York 1664-1683. I am not positive. But I would not rule out the fact that this manuscript may have some connection the Richard Sterne. Or perhaps the manuscript is just using Sterne's name as some sort of proclamation. The script appears to be Cursive Document Hand from the mid 16th century. But again I am not positive. I referenced a good site for examples called medieval writing for samples of script. Another reason I though this vellum piece may have a link to Sterne is the book- Biographical History of England. From Egbert the Great to the Revolution By James Granger. Richard Sterne is addressed as a Richardus Sterne. Sterne was educated at Cambridge and versed in Latin. Maybe I am wrong and it was a common name at the ... moretime. This is a beautiful antique platter circa 1880 from Powell Bishop and Stonir from Henley Staffordshire England in the Oriental Ivory Hong Kong Pattern. It measures approx. 14 1/4" and has a rust border with multicolored design and overall in good condition but has one minor glaze chip along border that has some color on it to disguise it and a few spots on rust border where color is missing.also very minor. Otherwise in very good condition for it's age and perfect for either use or display.I am not sure if this is the correct term but I think somewhere I heard the term polychrome color.it has a different kind of lustre to the color and it may have that.not sure I got the term correct. Antique 1911 Bishop CA Dog License Tag for Collar Brass Very Unique
This is another unique item I'm selling for a local estate. I've never seen one of these before and am surprised there were even dog licenses being issued in 1910-11. It appears to be made from brass and measures 2 3/4" long. The flash made the tag look like it has a bright shine. But it is actually a dull color. It reads, Bishop Dog License, 5, To Jan. 1, 1911" They weren't even county licenses then and perhaps this is the 5th issue for the year. Being a dog lover, I really like this item.

C A started in 1887 and was acq uired by Nabisco(National Biscuit Company back then) in 1930. Bishop's produced cocoa and chocolate and were the first to produce the only ground chocolate manufactured in southern California. This lovely amber pitcher. Which probably dates from the 1920's measures approximately 9 1/2" tall to top of knob on lid. At the widest point it measures about 6 inches. This is a beautiful flow blue Wash Pitcher- made by Bishop& Stonier c1900- the pattern name is ANEMONE and it is fully marked to the base with makers name and pattern plus registration numbers- I would date it c1900. It stands approx. 11 1/2" high to handle top- it is very clean looking with just a teeny flake on the foot of the serpent and a shallow chip on the corner of the base- not seen unless turned- I will add a pic later of this- but it is minor. G Gundam anime production cel - George de Sand + Raymond BIshop 2 layer w sketch
Hello and thank you for checking out my auction for this anime cel from the anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam. The first Gundam production produced by Sunrise without the involvement of series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The show was a major departure from the Gundam formula established in the Universal Century timeline and the tone was more in keeping with the Super Robot shows from the 1970s. This is a 2-layer cel set featuring the Neo France Gundam fighter George de Sand with his loyal butler Raymond Bishop. The pair's relationship is very similar to Bruce Wayne/Batman and his butler Alfred. Bishop also taught George fencing and used a Butler mobile suit to train George to learn to fight in the Gundam Rose. George is painted on the top layer and Raymond is painted on the bottom layer. So the 2 characters can be animated independently. The ... more2 cels are stapled together and stuck together. The George cel is labeled C8 and the Raymond cel is labeled B8. A matching sketch for Raymond, also numbered B8, sits under the 2 cels and were taped to the cels. Unfortunately the front side of the sketch is stuck to the bottom side of the Raymond cel. You may be able to get the 3 pieces separately, and I'd strongly advise having this done professionally to avoid damaging the artworks. There are a few dots of dried ink on the cels and sketch, mostly along the upper margin. Some of the trace lines on the George cel show a bit of fading. Please refer to the photos- the first one was scanned with the top margin cropped due to lack of available scan area, the remaining 11 were photographed(the last one shows the backside of the sketch, with the store name, address and phone number of a Japanese cel store that used to carry it rubberstamped on it) in a dramatic closeup.
