18" high X 13" wide X 1.5" deep This is an authentic piece of Mexican folk art that I picked from an old barn in Chihuahua. Chih. It is very, very old and has an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe(the Patron Saint of all Mexico) under glass the entire frame is hand made. IT IS NOT NEW AND DOESN'T LOOK NEW. So don't expect something that looks like it came out of some gallery in Santa Fe. It's way too cool for that. This textured cross is a splendid example of the artistry of the Arts& Crafts Movement. This piece was piece lovingly and skillfully hand wrought and dated 1907, the Edwardian Era. It appears that the piece was rendered by creating the cross base, then the tendrils adorning the top were made by pouring the base metal into a mould lined with tiny quartz crystals. Some of these crystals remain embedded into the decorative elements of the cross. On the reverse, the date 1907 spans the cross bar, which is centered with a stamped"PAT FEB 23, 1904" ... moreAt the top of the reverse, the initials BC are engraved in script. The entire piece has been heavily yellow gold plated(or filled) This is truly a splendid find for the collector of jewelry of the Arts& Crafts movement, during the Edwardian period. Measurements: 2" long to the top of the ring. But not including the ring bale. It is almost 1 1/4" wide. In profile, the piece is about 3/16" thick. The chain is 17 1/2" in wearable length. Condition: In very. Very good antique condition with only tiny fine scratches attesting to the gentlest of wear. The fact that so many of the quartz crystals are still adhering to the piece, even though it was crafted over 100 years ago, gives testament to its loving care. The rose gold filled chain, with secure thumb ring clasp, is not a match to the yellow gold tone of the cross, but is appropriate for the age of the piece and was with it when I purchased it. Antique Austrian religious Needlepoint Baby Jesus held by Holy Mary framed
This framed religious needlepoint item came out of my parents' house. And originally belonged to my Mother's parents(my grandparents) when they were living in Vienna, Austria. The frame measures 13-1/2 x 11-inches and is backed by paper. There is a small ring at the back top for hanging on a wall. The heads. Hands, and feet of both the baby Jesus and Holy Mary are made of paper. The embrodery is very precise, and has a shiny quality to most of it, with some gold used for Mary's halo, crown, and outline. Here's where it gets a bit tricky: On the back. Written in German(in my Grandfather's hand) there is a small note attached that reads: Weihnachten 1941. Wien. Gearbitet am- Angeblich 1807. The dashes indictate two words I can't make out. Loosely translated. This reads: Christmas 1941. Vienna. Worked on-Presumably 1807. ... moreI think this piece of paper was added at a later date by my Grandfather as it is attached by three Christmas seals from 1966(my Grandfather never wasting anything probably due to his experiencing WWII in Europe)he and my grandmother lived with us in the 1960's and on. I guess my Grandfather wanted the history of this piece noted. One of the German words I can't make may be'Grossmutter' Grandmother) so this may have been made 5 generations back from mine. Making the 1807 date valid. Since my parents are no longer around. Further information is sadly not available. There is a mild vertical crease to the right of the images(see scan) This is a very pretty piece. I have mixed emotions in selling it(I'm down-sizing as I have a major move pending) but have decided to see if I can find it a nice. New home where it will be appreciated. Thanks for looking!

This piece of needlework was made in France and dates from the late 19th century. It measures approximately 18 1/4 x 21 1/2 inches or 46 x 54.5 cm. The colors have faded somewhat over the years. Antique Victorian Religious Punch Paper Picture of Jesus. Mary and Joseph This is a Wonderful Religious Punch Paper Needlepoint. It has a Plastic Mold of Mary and Joseph with the Baby Jesus. It is Beautifully Embroidered and also has Dried Leaves as a decoration. It reads: Jesus Mary Joseph! Unto thee I give my Heart and Soul. It comes in the Original Hand Painted Victorian frame. It is lined with a Gilt wood insert underneath the glass. Circa: Late 1800's to early 1900's Size: Print is 12 inches by 16 inches Frame is 18 inches by 22 inches. This looks to be a very old German Soldier's war canteen. I'm thinking WWI or earlier. Not sure. The front picture depicts a drum, bugle, flag, rifle with bayonet, bullets and a cannon as well as a religious crown with a cross and the German Flag. I do not know what is says"Du warst mein Trost in truben Stunden, Dies hab ich als Soldat empfunden. Drum solist du allzeit mir gereichen. An meine Dienstzeit als Erinnerungszeichen! I think it is a reference to God that he was"my solace in trotted hours, this I perceived as a soldier" I'm not sure of the rest of the translation means-something about"you believed in me" It is in very good condition except one wing is broken off the eagle on the cup. Antique Fraternal Chaplain/Priest Biretta The item was found in a very old temple in Washington.Some experts believed the artifact is to be from the early days of the Knights of Pythias. however the items origin is rare and unknown.We estimate this to be circa late 1800's to very early 1900's Black silk covered stiff biretta has a little separation on one side.There is also a black tassel Pom that hangs down the side. The inside is lined with a cloth type material and has a brown leather band that is cracking and losing its bond to the silk in spots. Diagonally from the center of the hat and has a tassel attached. The front of the hat has a cloth applique of the"Holy Bible, SAM XV" it is outlined with a shimmery gold metal threading. This hat is very old and is rich in History. We suggest it be showcased. We've got a great antique picture frame with a religious print in it. However. It appears that there has been some water damage to the print, so I'm selling this as and for the frame. It's a wood frame, with a gesso lining, and the gesso is chipped and chipping in certain places(see pictures highlighting damage) The back is still in good shape, but will need to have the cardboard backing replaced most likely. It's glass fronted, and the glass is unbroken. It measures 26 1/2" x 22 1/2" on the outside dimensions. With 15 1/2" x 19 1/2" for the inside dimensions. If you have any questions. Beautiful wood end cap piece of a church pew bench salvaged from an old Catholic church in Laporte. Indiana. Made of solid wood with decorative embellishments and painted in a light color with a pink tinge to it. It is dirty. Chippy, gouged and rough, but really gorgeous! Would be great hung on the wall as art, use for display, put hooks on it for purses, jewelry, hats etc. Great decorator piece or for re-purposing!
