This chalice stands 4-1/2" tall and is 6-1/4" wide at the handles. It has a concave bottom with no hallmarks.

I think, 1863. The chalice is of small size and little weight. The overall height is 3.6" the weight is 53 grams, 1.7 troy ounces. The design is most pleasing. The stem tapers out to a spread base, then onto a flat base with a pleasing waved rim. The base has more delicate inscribed designs which complement those on the chalice cup. Description This pair of antique circa late 19th century Indian/ Burmese large brass chalice footed bowls. Are hand raised in solid brass of rounded chalice form with separate raised stepped and ringed pedestal bases, which are attached to the base of the bowls on hand cut screw threads. The outside of the bowls and pedestals are very finely hand chased, engraved and punch worked with animals and dancing Hindu Deity figures amongst profuse scrolling foliate and foliate borders. This lovely fine pair of stem bowls are apparently unmarked. CONDITION One bowl has two small 1cm.3/8" of an inch) splits in the edge of the rim. The chalice has a formed stem emanating from the base and carrying a goblet with straight sides ending in an outwards flared rim. The goblet has ribbing towards the bottom. Please see page 93(no. 186) in Peter Hornsby's book"Pewter Of The Western World 1600-1850" published by Schiffer Publishing Ltd in Exton PA for a similar chalice from the 19th century attributed to Calder. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain but most likely circa 19th century Origin: Was purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size: The base measures ~3 3/4" ... morein diameter at the base. ~3 1/4" in diameter at the top and is 6" high(exactly the same dimensions of the item in the Hornsby book) The piece weighs about 12.3 ounces. Maker: Uncertain. But could be William Calder. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very nice antique American pewter chalice that would display nicely in your collection. It is really a substantial piece weighing about 12.3 ounces. Condition: It is in relatively good condition given its age and utilitarian function. The piece is intact with no breaks. Cracks, repairs or losses. It has a warm gray age patina, which looks great. It does have scratches throughout and it has some minor defect and graying of the surface due to pitting? on the stem, which can be seen in the third and seventh photos. This seems to be excess pewter or solder residue and most likely an artifact of the manufacturing. It does have some general wear commensurate with its age and utilitarian function. Here is a very old early American looking silver metal goblet/chalice. I am thinking it could be hard white metal and has darkened with age. It stands about 6 7/8" tall and 3 5/8" across the top. Antique Benziger Bros jeweled parcel gilt sterling tulip form chalice & paten
Offered is a fine sterling turn of the century tall tulip chalice with partial gold wash and ornate repousse work. Including panels depicting biblical scenes separated by a profusion of symbolic and abstract decoration, including panels of grapes and wheat. The chalice is further enhanced with a crucifix made of fifteen fine quality(3mm) amethysts and a nice ten point diamond in the old European cut, and a further six larger(6-8mm) amethyst doublets half way up the stem. The chalice is inscribed as consecrated in 1919(see pictures) and is marked on the foot; BENZIGER BROS STERLING SS8348’ It’s also marked sterling on the cup and again on the gold wash base. Just over 9” tall and 6” wide. The chalice is in very good condition with only faint wear from normal use, and I've left it unpolished. The gold wash on the paten shows some light ... morewear where it seats on the chalice, it’s also marked‘Sterling’ in a diamond shaped cartouche, somewhat different from the other marks. I believe it is a Fritz Heckert piece. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The chalice is approximately 12.25 inches tall. It is just over 5 inches wide across the mouth. At its widest the chalice is approximately 6 inches wide, and the foot is approximately 5.75 inches diameter. It weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces. CONDITION: It is in excellent condition. Antique silver. Jeweled chalice/ goblet/ wine cup. Made 19th century. Probably Hungarian or other EUropean. A little over 5 1/2 inches tall. Weighs 122 grams. Round base with crimped. Beaded border and engraved notches in a ring around the edge. The slightly narrowing stem with engraved spiralling flower-form decoration leads to a knop, with petal-like divisions. The bowl is very richly decorated with repousse and engraved decoration in panels. Each of the 4 panels/reserves with raised floral vignettes. Very fine workmanship and detail. The areas between the panels are colette set with jewels- turquoise and garnets. No legible hallmarks found. Condition is generally very good with the exception of the rim. This chalice is 6 5/8" tall by 4 1/2" across the top outer rim by 4 1/8" across the top inside rim by 3 3/8" across the bottom by 4 3/4" is the depth inside the chalice. There are four jewels.
