Signed NE in a chalice for the New England Glass Works Company. Their factory closed in the 1920s. Giving an indication of the age of this piece. It has a fabulous style and wonderful detailing. MANUFACTURER'S MARK: Marked on the back with NE in a chalice. MEASUREMENTS: The fur clip measures 2 ½ inches long and 1 ¾ inches wide. CONDITION: Very good condition. Some rhinestones have a slight yellowish tinge but no dark stones. Slight wear to a few areas of the metal. Clip works well. Great collector's item. ANTIQUE WOOD CHALICE CABINET TABERNACLE? From New Orleans 1800'S?
This is a very interesting antique piece. I have been told it is a tabernacle or chalice cabinet. I was also told it is quite old and that the"stain" may actually be cows blood. It is quite dusty and dirty. I tried to clean it but don't really know what to use and don't want to hurt the wonderful patina. It is from New Orleans. LA. There is a metal rod that hangs inside the door and another loose rod that was just laying inside. Very nicely crafted. Guessing it is one of a kind. Measures approximately 25" tall, 12" wide and 8" deep. Do not know the precise age. I am not an authority on antiques and this is the information that I was given regarding description and value.

Beautiful Antique Needlework Sampler w Chalice by Elizabeth Underwood 1826
Up for auction is a beautiful. Minutely-stitched, framed schoolgirl sampler, worked in silk on a linen ground, and dating to 1826. This is Elizabeth Underwood's sampler, and it features a lovely winding flowering vine as a border, the alphabet in several fancy scripts in its upper portion, a beautiful chalice in its center area, and assorted decorative elements in its bottom portion, including a fruit basket, six different urns of flowers, and a crown. All in all, the stitches are tiny and uniform in tightness, and the colors and composition are pleasing. This sampler is in excellent condition. Remarkably, there are no holes or tears in this piece, and no color runs. I found this sampler in Bloomfield Hills. MI, a northwest suburb of Detroit. After doing some online research I've learned there was an Elizabeth Underwood born in 1812 ... morewho lived much of her life here in southeast Michigan. She was born in New York in 1812, the daughter of John C. Underwood(1788-1851) and Catherine Field Underwood(1789-1859) Elizabeth married Gideon Harkness(1812-1873) and in 1840 they had a son, John Underwood Harkness(1840-1911) Elizabeth and Gideon moved to Lenawee County in Michigan, and both are currently buried there. Lenawee County is southwest of Detroit. This piece is framed in its possibly original. Gold gilt frame, and the frame is in good shape, ready for hanging. Fine Quality Unique Vintage/ Antique Indo Persian Islamic Solid Silver Chalice. Skillfully hand made from sterling grade silver it features all over finely hand chased and repousse work folliage and flowers. What makes it unusual and special is that it incorporates 4 Blue Sandstone Cabouchon stones. Blue sandstone has been compared to the night sky on a clear night and if you look closely. You can see why because the stones are included with purple/blue specks of light. The night sky has a special significance in Islam and it is mentioned many times in the Quran. The Chalice is beautifully proportioned with a height of 108mm and is heavy at 181g or 6.4oz. B eautiful and unique piece of probably Indian Islamic Solid Silver and interesting aspect of Islamic art.

Antique Silver Plate Ciborium and Chalice Set
By Wilcox Silver Plate Co. Which was established in 1865 in Meriden, Connecticut. In 1898 they became part of the International Silver group. The chalices are heavily chased with a bold cartouche for inscription or monogramming. They stand 7 ¼” with an opening of 3 3/8” The ciborium has a cloth cover with a cross embroidered in the center. The chalices are gold-washed with some deterioration as well as some plate loss on the bodies. Also, both are not quite as round as they used to be! They are stamped with the logo“Wilcox Silver Pl” in the circular mark with crossed mallets. Each bears the pattern or model#1251. Lovely Victorian chalice set.

An Antique Arts and Crafts Planished Metal Chalice Centerpiece Bowl
8387 Arts& Crafts Movement Chalice Centerpiece Bo Description A striking late 19th century. Or earl 20th century Arts& Crafts period chalice shaped bowl. It also combines features of the Art Nouveau movement and is a very stylish item. It is formed from planished(hammer finished) metal which appears to be plated copper. The metal has built up a very nice aged patina over the years. Originally it may have had a polished finish. It is of large size and was perhaps intended for fruit or as a centerpiece. It would also make a fine large pot pourri bowl. It is stamped to the underside of the bowl P.H.Stayce. Presumably for the manufacture, but we have been unable to trace them. It is a fine looking piece which would be wonderful in the right setting and bound to be noticed. Condition Nice aged patina build up with some rubbing around the ... moreupper section as you would expect for normal handling. It looks old and aged which is the charm of the item. With a gleaming parcel-gilt(gold-washed) finish. This excellent vintage find comes fresh from a decommisioned upstate New York church. Like all our auctions, these beautiful pieces are being offered here with a low opening bid and no reserve price. Both the chalice and matching paten are in good condition. The paten measures 5 5/8" 14.2 cm) in diameter and weighs 155 grams. It features an intricately engraved"IHS" monogram encircled by a crown of thorns. The ... morepaten is hallmarked"Sterling" near the top edge. Along with an unidentified maker's mark. The only flaws to the paten are some generous surface wear to the gold-plating, a small abrasion/ scratch mark along one edge, a tiny dent or two, and some mild surface scratching. The chalice. Too, has a richly gold-washed surface. It is skillfully crafted with a gleaming brass base and a removable solid sterling silver cup. The chalice has an elegant hexagonal form, with repousse grapevines encircling the stem and a decorative, baroque-style cross applied to the base. The chalice measures approximately 9" 22.8 cm) high by 5 1/8" 13.2 cm) in diameter at the base. It is hallmarked"Sterling" on the underside of the cup, which weighs 173.1 grams. I believe this is the mark of Wood and Hughes which was an important 19th c. silver firm from New York. New York. Each goblet stands 7 inch tall. and has a 3 inch diameter base. Together they weigh 406 grams( 14.3 ounces) on my digital scale. Nice antique heavy gauge silver. One cup is monogramed in small lettering on the front L. E. G to S. M G and the other appears to read L. E. G to F. T. G. One goblet is in fine condition with no detection of dings dents or bends. This is a very interesting vase type thing. I picked it up at an estate sale in San Francisco from an older lady that was selling some other items I was there for. I was there for some old posters(see framed poster in the backdrop of some of the photos for a Country Joe and the Fish concert from the Avalon Ballroom) I contacted the lady and asked if I could see the stuff on a Friday(day before estate sale) and look at what she had since I was going to be close to the city on business. She said I could and so I stopped in on Friday afternoon. I found some great posters and then noticed she had some old ... morerobes and some other interesting stuff that looked like maybe Freemason or Odd Fellows. I asked about it and she gave me a wry smile saying it was from neither of those groups but from a much darker group based in San Francisco. She said these things had belonged to Anton LaVey. I knew who he was and was immediately interested. She explained her personal relationship with the man and his group but said it was a thing of the past. I was surprised to see she wanted to sell these items. She said she had been holding on to most of these items since the late 60's and early 70's. She went on to explain she was in dire need for money and was thinning out her stuff to a minimalist amount. I asked her about several of the LaVey items that seemed interesting to me and she gave me reasonable prices. I bought the vase in the photos(this auction) A wolf face hook(that was for hanging ceremonial robes, an owl incense burner and a lamp(all on ebay now) I kept several books that I may sell at some point. GENUINE ANTIQUE 18th/19th CENTURY PEWTER HOLY COMMUNION GOBLET / CHALICE
I take pleasure in offering for sale this engraved very old pewter Holy Communion Chalice. Or should I say what I believe to be a Holy Communion Chalice, but it may have a different purpose. Due to the absence of any markings. I am not able to say just how old it is, all I do know is that is was found in a box with other pewter items which we known to be from the 18th& 19th century, so I can only surmise this chalice of similar age, but if any kindly expert out there could help me out in identifying the maker. A superb large heavy solid sterling silver chalice. It is hallmarked for London 1938 with the maker’s marks being W&W for Wakely and Wheeler. It has been beautifully designed having a traditional shape with a very finely detailed stem depicting Lily of the Valley.
