Anitque MASONIC NATIVE AMERICAN/Indian 54"Long ALTAR CLOTH Runner- 80+ YEARS OLD
Antique MASONIC- Native American Altar Cloth or Runner. This fantastic old runner is probably at least from the 1930's or earlier. It is made of linen and measures 54" long x 16" wide. It has been hand embroidered with a Masonic symbol on one end and an Indian chief on the other. The linen is in great condition with no holes and just a light stain around the edge of the Indian. The embroidery is also in great condition with only a few black threads missing from the Masonic symbol. I have photographed both the front and the back and both look beautiful. I have not ironed or cleaned this for fear of damaging it. This is a rare Masonic collectible and would really be an interesting addition to any collection of Masonic memorabilia. CARVED SIGNED BUDA ALTAR Description. In my store for your consideration is this carved wood could be rosewood. ebony or mahogony. It is a solid piece of wood 2 inches thick on the base 16 inches high. There is some chinese lettering carved in the wood front and back I have pictures of the wording. It has some interesting carvings of fish. One has an eye and the other one is missing. On the opposite side of the opening there is another carving missing the eyes. Sorry I have no idea what these carvings are or what the mean it looks to be carved as a temple which made me think it may be a Buda Altar. There is one small knick in the base front maybe two very minor but that is all I can see. It is a very interesting piece gives a feeling of tranquility.

Heavy 15lb solid Brass Antique Inkwell or Censer. I say censer because this piece looks like a Buddhist or Indian temple or altar. Maybe Chinese or Tibtan? Not certain of the exact age, maybe 18C or 19C or older. Maybe a ships desk with the dolphins and weight of the piece. Also, this piece was estate found in Oswego, NY the Port city of New York State with over four centuries of maritime history. The piece has four small candle holders and two finely carved dolphins support the very ornate well. The brass is held together with heavy brass screws that protrude from the base and back. It is heavy weighing about 15 pounds by itself. This one mounts on the wall. We purchase 3 antique Burma pieces so be sure to check them all out. There are 2 elephants holding the altar with figural columns& figural posts on the top. These were stored outside in a large shed for very long time so they will need a better cleaning as we basically just wiped cobwebs and loose dirt off. One one the bow tie is rounded. The other one square, the gold accent stripes are different. Black face paint is matte finish, hair shiny finish. These are probably from the 1940/50's era. Just a slight corner crease to front cover(as photo) Reprinted with revision from a 1965 Bulletin. This interesting and well-illustrated monograph describes in detail a 14th century gold-embroidered altar frontal which the V&A acquired in the 1960s. The frontal is thought to have originated from the Duomo of Veglia(now Krk) on the eastern shores of the Adriatic.

Nero. 13 October 54- 9 June 68 A.D. Nero became emperor after his stepfather. The emperor Claudius, died(Claudius was probably poisoned by Nero's mother Agrippina II) At first Nero ruled well, guided by his mentors Seneca and Burrus, but soon his reign degenerated into the debauchery and murder for which he is infamous. He had his mother, Burrus, Britannicus, and numerous senators and members of the nobility murdered or executed. Legend says he kicked Poppaea, his pregnant wife, to death. He was the first emperor to persecute Christians, blaming them for the Great Fire in 64 A.D. Nero committed suicide in 68 A.D after generals in Africa, Gaul and Spain all rebelled, and the Praetorian Guard in Rome deserted him.
