I have a set of antique steamer trunk handle brackets. These are for slotted leather handles. I bought these, and then found out I didn't need them. American Painted Antique Blanket Chest Recessed Panels, Pennsylvania c. 1820-40
AMERICAN RECESSED PANEL PAINTED BLANKET CHEST Probably Lancaster or Montgomery County. Pennsylvania c. 1820-40 Item# 130110PZS26 This is an exceptional piece in untouched condition. The two board top is delightfully painted in a somewhat scrubbed brown on cream. Surrounded by an ogival molding affixed with a series of cut iron nails. It lifts on original steel hinges to reveal it's original untouched till and a spacious interior constructed using double-pinned tenon mortise construction with panels set into the mitered frame. The grain painted facade of the chest is highlighted with the recessed panels framed in cream molding, these with a delightful maroon wash that still allows the sharply ribbed grains to show through brilliantly. Identical to the front, the back of the chest is constructed with a recessed panel, the entire back with ... morea red painted wash. Resting over it's original ogee molded base, the case was crafted without feet, the underside remaining untouched and fully original. This is an absolute treasure for serious collectors of American Folk Art and period works from Pennsylvania. In untouched and very fine condition. This piece remains in an admirable state of preservation throughout. Measurements: 37 1/2" wide x 17 1/2" deep x 16 7/8" high Condition Report: Untouched worn original painted surface. Original untouched hardware(lock. Hinges, latch all original) no key available. String and eyehooks are probably later, though the eyehook on the lid is hand forged and possibly original. A few later nails in the molding strengthening this. Overall very fine condition. Please review all images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

Norwegian Rosemaled bridal chest Telemark Norway Scandinavian folk art 1825
Up for auction is a very high quality rosemaled chest dated 1825 and with the owners initials on the front. The chest is probably a wedding chest. It originates from Telemark and i belive it comes from a farm called Bakka in Nissedal, with the chest there is a document stating the decendants after Andreas Bakke and Maren Elisabeth Nysom who lived on this farm. The chest has very good quality rosemaled floral patterns on a dark blue background, the roses has a very vibrant red colour in the floral patterns that are very elaborate, the quality of the rosemaling suggests that a master of this art painted it almost 200 years ago. The chest has wonderful metalwork on it and this was not cheap when it was made, the handles on the sides has a sculptural form to them. The inside of the chest i heavily decorated with paint tecnique that gives a marble ... moreeffect, and the small draver inside the chest has been carved. The lock is original with marble tecnique on it, is not functioning, but still has the original key. The chest would be a great addition to any collection of farm antiques from Norway, Sweden or Scandinavia as a whole. The condition is very good with some wear to rosemaling patterns on lid of the chest, since the chest is from the inland of Telemark there are no wormholes. This would be a great piece for any collector with norwegian heritage and a great way to display this heritage. It measures 44" wide 25" tall and 23.6" deep. Due to size it will be shiped by air and normaly delivered to your door. The cost for this is stated to cost 300$, actual cost is about 600$ so im covering half of the shipping cost. ANTIQUE BAVARIAN PAINTED PINE TRUNK 1806 - ALSO CALLED FIRE TRUNK
Here for auction is a beautiful pine trunk or fire trunk(so named because people stored their most valued possessions in a trunk so they could take it with them in case of fire) that came from the Bavarian region of Germany. The colors are very vibrant. There is a very large metal forged antique key and lock, and old forged hinges. The trunk is 47" long, 23" front to back, 24" tall, and the pine planks are 7/8 thick. When the lid is lifted, the additional storage drawer seen on the left side measures 4" wide, 3" deep and 20" long. The inside depth of the large storage area is 16" This trunk is local pickup in Colorado Springs, CO.

A rare leather trimmed ladies dress trunk. With solid brass hardware, hardwood slats, striped canvas covering, and linen and silk lining. With the original interior tray with multiple compartments! The original owner's initials“M.A.M. and Boston, USA are painted on the trunk sides. This model trunk is extremely hard to find in any condition today. Only the high grade trunks had real leather trim and edging, all solid brass hardware and silk lining. Constructed of wood with leather edge bindings. Heavy canvas covering, solid brass slat braces, brass lock, latches, and rivets, and thick leather side handles. Two solid brass latches are on the front and work. ... moreThe marked lock is also of solid brass, no key is available. The interior is linen lined and contains the special fitted compartments made for shirts, shoes, and various other garments as well as umbrella straps. The four bottom wood slats are present as well as the heavy duty rollers. The trunk bottom is in very good condition, with zinc covering and hardwood slats. The brass hardware is all present and has not been highly polished, to preserve the aged patina. It could be polished if desired. The leather trim, corners, and handles are intact with typical signs of wear. The leather has all been treated with professional leather treatment polish. It is hard to find ornate trunk handles of this style that are still intact. The trunk is a great size for use as a table if desired. Condition notes: This trunk is in very good used condition. But there are signs of age and use which are typical for a trunk of 100 years or more in age. There are some minor issues I want to describe. The top of the trunk has a couple splits or cracks in the canvas, which are not visible from all angles. The cracks are filled and glued and are not very large or very noticeable. Antique Victorian Steamer Trunk 1880's(Corbin Cabinet Lock Company) 1882-1939 New Britain Connecticut USA. The Trunk has Original Metal with Patina Rustic looking color. The Wooden Slats are dark due to age and primitive looking. The size of Trunk is 33 inches long.17 inches wide and 20 inches Height. Right side of latch works,Left side does not work, Main Lock is possible Brass unsure due to age and color on lock it does not work. The Trunk has colors of dark green around lock area so I think color of metal was dark green when made and used. The Leather straps on trunk are all bad due to age. Beautiful Antique Dome Top Trunk, Outstanding Hardware, Exceptional Interior
Beautiful Antique Alligator Tin Dome Top Trunk Very nice mid-sized dome top trunk from the 1880's. This trunk has been 100% professionally restored and is absolutely beautiful. The original alligator tin still remains and has been cleaned. Polished, and preserved with several coats of stain and Tung oil topcoat finish. The stamped tin hardware has all been polished with a wire wheel and really looks nice against the oak slats that surround the body. The oak slats were all cleaned and sanded with steel wool giving the wood a smooth, almost soft feel and a very rich, warm color. The black trim was cleaned with a wire wheel to remove and surface rust or imperfections, then painted with 1 coat of metal primer and 3 coats of flat black paint. The flat black is a great contrast against the semi gloss finish of the Tung oil on the slats and ... moretin. Very solid trunk all around, nicely built, hinges are strong, all hardware is included. The handles have been replaced with new 3-ply leather for many more years of life. The interior of this trunk is second to none and in my opinion is the best you'll find in the marketplace. A friend of mine does most of my trunk interiors. She's been doing trunks for 30+ years and her work is exceptional. Absolutely beautiful design and border that coordinate perfectly together. 100% glued in so it should never peel or loosed over time. Tray is included, but a key is not. It is a small cabinet side table. Nightstand or hall piece It is hand made with knapp joint drawer at the top Charles B. Knapp of Waterloo. Wisconsin, created the Knapp joint, the joint consists of integral dowels and half round mortises in the face of the drawer and a half-round"tail" with a hole drilled out to receive the dowel on the drawer sides. Mr. Knapp completed the joint making machine in 1867. In 1870. He sold the rights to some investors who sold the machine under the name"Knapp Dovetailing Company" located in Northampton. Mass. By 1871, Furniture companies on the east coast primarily were using this machine to further speed the production of case furniture. Nearer to the turn of the century. Beautiful Antique Flat Top Trunk Very nice mid-sized flat top trunk from the 1890's. This trunk has been 100% restored and is excellent condition. I did not personally refinish this particular trunk. However, I did put a fresh coat of Tung oil over the entire trunk and have repainted all the hardware with a flat black paint and it really looks great. Very solid trunk all around, nicely built, hinges are strong, all hardware is included. The handles have been replaced with new 3-ply leather for many more years of life. The interior of this trunk is a simple pattern with a vintage print attached in the top. The wallpaper does have some minor staining, but nothing serious. This trunk also has two trays, an upper tray made to hold larger items/garments and a lower, much shallower tray made to hold smaller/lighter items. Antique Camphor Captains Sea Chest Chinese Camphor Trunk
This beautiful antique camphor sea chest belonged to my grandmother. It has been in my family for a very long time and is being sold due to lack of appreciation unfortunately. According to my grandmother it was owned by captain Bearse. One of the many, but more well know, sea captains from Chatham, MA. There is no way to prove this but it is period appropriate and antique appraisers agree it is an early chinese style camphor sea chest. The smell of camphor when you open the chest is incredible. There is one brass fitting missing on the bottom right, and a repair was done by my grandfather(a woodworker) in the 1940's to repair a seperating split in the left upper corner of the lid.
