Original 1950's Dick Pearce English Wood Surf Board "Surfrider"
Original 1950's plywood surf board made in Devon. England by the legendary Dick Pearce for West Country surfers. It measures 46.5 inches tall and 47.5 inches if you follow the curve. It is 12.25 inches wide. It's in excellent condition with just a few light scratches. Picture 6 Shows Dick's boards at the British museum of Surfing and pic 11 is a photo of Dick with his board. If you google Dick Pearce it will tell you a b it about the history of this piece. There are initials on the logo but I cannot make them out. The main piece being bid on in this auction is the SouthBend lure. The wood body is in good condition with one scratch shown in the pictures. The glass eyes are intact. The hooks and spinners are rusted. The box is used but in good condition. The top and bottom are not crumpled or broken. The top has some dings but in pretty good shape for a used item. The board is 6 ft. high. 18 1/2" at rounded top and 13 1/2" at the bottom. There is no marking on this board and only remnants of blue paint remain.
