It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. Upon graduating from school Henry Likly took an apprenticeship with A.R& T.H.Pritchard and mastered his trade in the trunk manufacturing industry.In January of 1868 Mr. Likly was given a partnership in the company. The company then became A.R. T.H. Pritchard& Company. Three years later it became A.R. Pritchard& Likly.When Henry Likly and his brother in-law became the sole proprietors of the business the name was changed to Henry Likly& Company. This was the name from 1870 when A.R. Pritchard retired until 1925 when it simply became"Likly's"As far as I can tell the company was ran by his children after his death in 1897. In New York State the Henry Likly trunk company was the largest factory of its time. Located at 340 Lyell Ave in Rochester N.Y. the factory covered two acres of land. The building was 4 stories tall and utilized 60,000 square feet of space. During this period it was one of the best equipped manufacturing plants in the United States. Antique 1800's VICTORIAN WOOD & CAST IRON HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK- MAJESTIC!!
Up for bid is an extremely rare and beautiful 1800's VICTORIAN WOOD AND CAST IRON HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK. This is a old wood trunk that is very majestic in appearance. It is beautifully crafted of an inner wood body covered in beautiful black metal sheet. Fantastic wooden bumper panels on all sides, even more so fantastic cast iron metal work of every latch, hinge, and edge trimming throughout trunk(including bottom which has small cast iron wheels) One of my favorite parts of this gorgeous trunk is the original 1800's lock and latch, it absolutely beautiful. Inside of trunk is extremely spacious and has a very clear, bold original colored illustration of a beautiful Victorian era woman starring off into the distance. The trunk itself measures at 34 1/2" long. 20" wide and 23 1/2" tall, and is what I consider, a larger ... moretrunk. It has aging wear but it has fantastically aged, could be easily used for display or everyday use as well as it is very sturdy and well built. Only thing to repair is one rear hinge that has broken from where it attaches bottom of trunk to lid, but hinge bodies on both lid and bottom are firmly attached to trunk with no damage, it is very fixable as it is a clean break of the thin metal of latch(See pictures) I have given a very accurate description of this astonishing steamer trunk and I have provided pictures of all angles for your viewing and bidding certainty. Have up for auction a reproduction of the late mid 17th century British Naval Cannon in the origional box from Denix out of Spain. The cannon measures 10" long and has a small slidding blck that will allow the cannon shoot higher or lower. The barrel is all heavy black metal and has real rope breeching. Here we a Victorian Era children's travel wood trunk with tin overlay. It is in unrestored original condition. Eagle Lock Company U.S.A It is a great looking vintage trunk. Well loved and traveled. The handles are long gone. The right latch does not line up. The bottom has a couple of cracks. This trunk measures 18-1/8" in length. 10-1/2" wide and 10-1/2" tall. This trunk has great character including at least three very old paper lading tags one from Charlevoix Michigan by American railway express. This trunk was well traveled in it's day. When we were inspecting the trunk we noticed what looked like an old stamp stuck to the bottom under a flap of the interior covering. This"stamp" turned out to be a very small picture. Taken obviously in the victorian era, of two adorable children. There is a name or some ... moreword written on the back in pencil so badly faded we are unable to read it. There are markings on the lock"PA HC" and some indiscernible numbers. Pennsylvania Hardware Company(Late 1700's) The age is approximate. Very useable as a storage trunk for small items or dolls, but also fabulous for a display piece or photo prop. Measures 8.75"D x 21"W x 8.25"H.Circa 1908. The metal strapping has pieces that are broken or missing. Some of the metal details are missing or broken. There are some boards on the bottom of the chest that have been replaced with new wood. Early Vintage Round Top Decorative Wood/Metal Trunk w/Yale & Towne Lock
This trunk has been part of my family since I can remember. I believe that my father had it in the early 1930's but can't verify that. It could be older or newer. It measures 23" high. 19"wide and 34" long. The trunk is made of some type of metal with wooden stays. It has decorative tin type on the top and front. The lock has no key. It reads- Yale& Towne Mfg. Co/ shamrock around the keyhole with Y& T/ Stanford Conn. U.S.A. AB The round top has 5 wooden stays. 4 on the front and back and 3 on the bottom. The rollers are in working condition. The inside has no tray or decorations. As you can see. The inside of the top has some crayon marks(probably from my sister! a small crack by the hinge, and two strips of duct tape on the bottom that can easily be removed. This trunk has been moved to a lot of different houses ... morein its lifetime and is still in very good condition for its age. Antique Hand Hammered Gilt Copper & Brass Clad Wood Chest Trunk Box on Wheels
Wonderful Primitive Antique Hand Hammered Gilt Copper& Brass Clad Wood Chest/Trunk. This is an all original beautiful piece. It is NOT a reproduction. It is sitting on wooden wheels. It has a hinged lid but one of the hinges has come loose from the lid and the piece of wood it was attached to has broken off. The hinge is still attached to the box. The lid still opens and closes fine and this could probably be repaired. There are some places throughout the box where the copper may be slightly bent. Dented, cracked etc. One of the corners has a piece of the trim that is around the edges that has come off but we do have a piece of it that may be reattached. The top of the lid has a spot where one of the nail holes is open and there is some white"sand" or something that they used to keep the 3D scene from caving in inside. Overall ... moremeasurements are 18 1/4" wide side to side, 11 1/2" front to back, and 13" tall. The scene on the front is four men sitting on benches and upside down barrels. One man standing to the side with what looks like a stein in one hand and a woman peeking out the door of the cottage. There is a cat sitting close by observing the men. The has what looks like men and women. One man looks to be helping a woman up off the ground. The scene on one of the sides is two men sitting inside amongst overturned barrels with bottles. Vases, pots etc in the background on a shelf. One is playing a violin or fiddle and the other is sitting next to him. The scene on the other side shows a man sitting in a chair with another man standing over him in front of him. Maybe he's a doctor or dentist? I can't really tell what he is doing. As mentioned it is lined in very old newspaper- all dated around 1835. The overall condition is good for its age: the two iron handles are still in tact. Most of the brass studs are present, the front latch is non functional, the hinges with square nails are fine. It is a very special piece of 19th century history. This is an absolutely gorgeous antique steamer trunk. As you can see in the photos the wood really accentuates the black color. The wood is beautiful. Much of the leather remains although both side straps have rotted away which is very common in a trunk of this age. The metal accents. Rivets and corner pieces are very ornate. In it's day this was a very expensive trunk. One hing on the back is in need of slight repair. This Antique Chinese trunk is leather over a wood frame. The leather is beautifully and intricately embossed with urns. Leaves, flowers, and traditional geometric designs. The motif is outward relief with gold highlights. We bought the trunk 42 years ago at the Chinese market in Bangkok. Thailand. It was then called it a“Goodie Box” It seems that it was primarily for household storage of clothing and bedding but might also be used for travel. The size is 25.5W” x 16.5D” x 12.5H” This is a very old item that has had extensive use as a functional trunk and is therefore in well worn condition. However. Pre 1930's hand carved wood trunk. The wood looks like cedar. But some of the research I've done the same Maker has used champhor wood. The lots of and hinges are original and are brass. the hinges are a little bit shaky and me need some attention. the trunk lid does open and close smoothly. There are several aged splits in the wood, nothing serious. Also one of the four feet is a little loose, it can be fix really easily, but I didn't want to mess with it. The overall condition for its age is good. 37" wide x 18" deep x 19" tall. The wood is all hand carved. The top is rounded. The carvings show people in a village, sailboats, nautical Chinese. Both enlisted and officers The name Barbora is a name of a mine that was renamed 1951. Zdar Buh" means Praise the Lord, traditional greeting of miners. There are some more numbers and letters in ink inside the box, possibly a serial# of his rifle. Also the owners name carved in front. The box is 24" long, 12" high and 12" deep.The box corners are mitered and there is one tray inside. The top is lightly rounded. The last picture shows some carvings on the top side. She has nicely working sleep eyes. Head is marked Unis France in oval with very faint numbers 71 301 149. Body is in excellent shape and has 2 between shoulders and 1 on both soles. Head measures about 6 5/8" circumference. Trunk is nice shape with expected age wear. Handle and latch work fine. Included are nice antique clothing as well as a few modern pieces. Vintage New Kids On The Block wooden storage trunk. I believe this is from around 1990 or so. When I went to college it was stored at my dad's home where it has sat for nearly 20 years until now. My husband has seen enough of it. Lol! Our place is TINY and I really have no place for it, so I've decided to list it and find it a new home! It measures: 15.5" x 15.5" x 16" and weighs 10 lbs 13 oz by itself(15.4 lbs boxed for shipping) Full sized vinyl albums can fit inside easily. The metal bits are spotted with rust. And dinged up here and there. The photo prints are also dinged up, somewhat discolored& faded with age, and have worn off areas. This comes from an estate sale in Northern California. This trunk has all the oak slats on it over the canvas.I have yet to find another trunk with the canvas still in tact. Although I'm sure there are probably some out there. This trunk is in very good condition despite it's age. It's very large: 40" long, 27 1/2" tall, and 24 inches wide. It has three rollers in tact. This is from a nonsmoking home, with no musty smells whatsoever. Very clean, sweet smelling. No mold or mildew whatsoever. I am selling without including any shipping costs.
