This is a rather large and elaborately carved Asian/ Chinese wood chest with a brass handle latch. I am not certain but I believe it is camphor wood. The pheasant/ bird motif is exquisitely carved on all five sides of the chest. The measurements are as follows: 39.25” Wide x 20” Tall x 19” Deep. I do not know how old it is or where it originally came from but this beautiful storage/ decorative trunk is in excellent shape except for the worn/ mildly damaged corner on the left front. This is a sweet little Antique Victorian Doll Trunk or Miniature Salesman Sample Trunk. It is constructed of wood and has a slight domed lid. The inside tray lifts out. It looks to have been originally covered in a stenciled wallpaper but that is mostly missing from the outside. It still remains on the inside of the lid which also has a picture of a Victorian girl. There is a small amount left in other areas. The trunk measures 12" x 7 1/2" x 7" The lid has a crack across it which is shown in photos. Lid is also washed in a deep red. The side handles are missing. Very sweet little primitive trunk! Perfect doll trunk. Perfect little treasure chest. Perfect primitive piece to add to your décor.

For your consideration is an antique steamer trunk. Dates to approximately 1932. There are stickers on the trunk. Which I did not remove. This is a large trunk, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. I was told that this trunk went from Germany to England and to Scotland and then to the United States. Measures 40" wide, 21" wide and 21" deep. This trunk does show wear, but adds to the history. There is some damage to the inside and made some holes on the underside. This does not effect the look, but would not make a good shipping trunk anymore. SUPERB ANTIQUE CHINESE 9 PANEL CARVED CAMPHOR WOOD DRAGON ENGRAVED BRASS TRUNK
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique Chinese Camphor wood trunk. This elaborate trunk features 9 panels(3 on the front, 3 on the top, and 3 on the back) of intricately carved and detailed scenes in deep relief. The trunk is adorned with an abundance of brass trim and hardware. The brass is engraved with an elaborate design which features a scaled, fire breathing dragon. The serpent is done in a scrolling pattern which is repeated throughout the face of the brass. The brass is secured with large brass nails/tacks. The trunk is raised on 4 small legs. The inside contains a sliding top tray which moves freely, from side to side, via a larger wooden bottom that rests on wooden strips attached to the upper interior of the trunk. There are two large interior hinges which allow for smooth opening and closing of the trunk lid. A large ... morelock on front fastens the lid in place. There is a large handle on each exterior side. The handles feature a decorative, engraved back plate. Each corner of the trunk is decorated with brass trim that highlights the dragon. THERE ARE TOO MANY DETAILS ON THIS TRUNK TO CAPTURE IN THE 12 PHOTOS! This is a beautiful. Elaborate and large trunk. It is in very good, antique condition. There is some minor evidence of age. The brass engraving has some minor areas of wear to the pattern in a couple of areas. There appears to have been a second lock on the front which is missing. One of the side handles has been reattached with two brass screws and the brass tacks are smaller on the back plate than the other tacks used on the piece. There are a couple of areas of minor splitting of the wood on the face only, which is common. None of these issues are major or distracting from the trunk. Overall, the trunk is in extremely nice condition. IT IS SIMPLY STUNNING! The trunk is large and measures 48" wide. 25" tall and 21.75" deep(front to back) The interior is 15.25" in depth(from top to bottom) The sliding tray is 18.5" x 16.75" x 2.25" The trunk is VERY HEAVY.

I picked this up at a Pa. estate sale this past weekend. I couldn't believe the original. Working key was still here. It's a flat top with the slightest raise in the center, so, not completely flat. It's adorned with wood slats. Take notice of the stenciling on the leather trim attached with studs. On the inside you will see the original paper lining. The leather handles are torn off but some pieces were saved and are inside. see pic) Maybe you can patch them up. The top straps are also missing. And part of the buckle is there. There are missing and rusted pieces of the metal and some chips and cracks in the wood. This came to the US in the 1880s from Germany and was found in the barn owned by the same family whose relatives were those German Immigrants. There is part of a paper sticker on the side with German writing. Antique Wood Wooden Chest / Marriage Box Trunk Hand Painted Flowers / Tulips
Hi. For sale an antique wood/ chest(circa 1800s/ early 1900) marriage box. I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There are hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side ... morehas a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. This auction is for a very beautiful vintage dome top Steamer Pirate trunk. It has a very pretty pressed tin design(blue) mixed in with the oak wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece It would look great in any area! It is a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are attached still! The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk. Both of the side front locks work well. There are no interior drawers. Still bearing a portion of an early gum sticker. The early turned and carved/engraved wood box appears to have been done from a tree branch or trunk. The outter rim of the box has the very thin bark. The lid was carved or engraved with Mt Fuji, a cottage, tree and a sailboat. Very unusual early piece of Japanese folk art. This wood crate has a nice warm finish and interesting hinges. A latch has been removed from the lid. And there are two handles, one on the end and one below where the latch was. The cabinet has an interior lining that is like corrugated cardboard. The trunk measures 31" L x 19" W x 13" T. The interior measures 28.5" L x 15.5" W x 9 3/4" T with a 1" of additional height inside the lid. Vintage Wood Bound Steamer Trunk, Excellent Condition, Wooden Suitcase
Vintage wood bound steamer trunk. There are no identifying marks on the hardware or trunk other than the number 75 below the keyhole on the latch. I believe this trunk was made in the UK as the estate I acquired it from had many vintage items from Europe. However that is not for certain. I am not a collector and know very little about old trunks. So I have taken pictures from every angle so you can see the entire trunk. Please note the third picture, upper left hand corner, a small piece of material is missing. Also note the last picture.the wood banding was broke and repaired at some point in time. I will be happy to supply more detailed pictures upon request. Dimensions are approximately 34"w x 11"h x 21"d(not including handle) The latches are functional. But I do not have a key. Antique CHILD'S DOLL STEAMER TRUNK Metal Over Wood, 3 Wooden Drawers & Hangers
This is a wonderful antique streamer truck/chest for doll's clothes. A toy most girls had to have at the turn of the 20th century. I'm not sure how old the trunk is. It is made of thin metal over wood and the metal reacts to a magnet. The trunk has a center key lock(non working) and 2 metal clasp brass colored steel(magnetic) All 4 corners have the same brass colored metal with tacks. There is a black metal band along the center edge with grommets or tacks. A leather strap embossed with the number 22 allows for easy carrying by an adult as the trunk weighs 16 pounds when empty. The handle is sturdy but has light surface cracks. In its upright position. The trunk opens to a wooden interior with 3 stacked drawers and a side for hanging the clothes. It does come with the 7 original wooden hangers(one is missing from the picture) The ... moredrawers can be removed and are stack-able within the trunk space. Slight loss of the blue paint on the edges of the right side. The trunk measures 22" tall x 12" x 12" There is a blank metal tag on the top near the handle. Could this have been a salesman's sample where the owner would have their name engraved on the plate? There is overall a light surface of rust.
