Has the owner's initials, H.B.G. printed on the top. Exterior is varnished canvas with a great patina. Interior is white canvas, all intact. Four canvas straps have MADLER embroidered on them. Corners have brackets for an interior shelf(not present) CONDITION: Please see photographs. I actually salvaged this one last week from the side of the road. It had been rained on the night before. So there is some water staining of the interior canvas, and it has a slightly musty smell that has improved as it's aired out. It's completely dry now. Overall in sturdy shape, r etaining original varnished and painted surface. Framed with original bentwood supports. One leather handle is missing, the other is broken. Slight warp to front and a couple of tears to canvas that don't really take away from the appearance. Looks like someone tried to break into it at some point; the locks are not functional, but may be restorable. Looks like someone must have put on an additional lock(it doesn't show up on the original ads) and that's missing the bottom latch(I would just remove it, but that's up to the winning bidder. It has Hinges on the lid and also a Latch on the front that you could put a lock on. Old tin pieces line the outside edge as well as old nails. Has a Chain on the inside to keep the lid from opening too far. Measures aprox 18" tall. 15" wide and 12" depth. This Trunk is Authentic and is completely made from Old Coca Cola Crates. As you can see by the Lid it does not have any other types of Wood added as on other types of Trunks like this I have seen. Very Unique piece. In Good condition for it's age. Up for sale is a vintage miniature trunk or cedar chest with brass finished trim and hinges. It’s a little bigger than most trinket boxes I’ve seen. At 7.5” wide and almost 4” high. It is in fair condition with the hinges etc in good working order. There are quite a few dings in the wood and the shellac( or polyurethane) has some cracking, particularly on the lid, all conducive with age. Please use the zoom feature for more details. This is a vintage Ideal Betsy Wetsy. 13/12" depending on toe or heel: and wonderful old wooden doll trunk* Betsy comes with a bottle and has dark blonde or light alburn hair She is missing the first two rows about of her bangs. With hair combed down you miss seeing it. She also is missing a few plugs her and there but overall her hair looks really nice, I was surprised that so much was missing. She has the tip of a little toe smashed and looks like inner staining to skin on one leg from water exposure perhaps* She is wearing a white and pink crocheted dress* She is marked on back of neck with Ideal Toys and a VW! I think. Hard to see* The trunk must have been so amazing new! It is wood with a paper covering which was textured I think. It was covered with traveling stickers and had a brown leather handle which is now torn in two. Brass ... morefixtures but the center latch is missing a key so I have not shut it. The top is super special as it opened on it's own to show a small compartment-maybe where the doll was kept. The color is showing lighter than was it is in real time-the photos of the inside showing the green in closer to true color. I am sure the Betsy doll does not come with the trunk. I just added her in. This sadly has come apart from the nails holding it together and the paper sealing. You might be able to see where the one nail missed the wood and was just held by the paper. This would make a great project to refinish or such keep as is for all the purest out there. The inside have all kinds of drawers- I can not tell if they are original or added after the fact. It does appear to me the top one on the left was at one time on the bottom of the other side. The paper matches the inside paper. This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy. Just separately, because the lock was recalled for safety reasons for it will automatically latch when closed being a hazard to children. In good condition with moderate wear. This is one old trunk. It has brass braces at all corners and brass rivots throughout perimeter leather. The lock is still attached and all the latches operate properly. OOAK Vintage Wood Steamer Trunk Chest - Hand Crafted - Florida Bound Sticker
What a great find! I believe this little steamer trunk is from Mini Land as I have seen one or two listed on e-bay before in the past. But IMHO, none of them looked quite as authentic or well-made as this! I have a similar trunk.full-size.that's been in our family for years and this looks exactly like it! I believe this trunk is from the 1970's or so.if anyone can enlighten me. I would appreciate it! It is crafted of wood and has been painted to mimic an aged piece. I do think the owner of the trunk customized it as this does not look like the typical trunk that was manufactured by Mini Land from what I can tell. I believe the fancy'hardware' on trunk is made of heavy metal foil.like the corner stickers you would use to put a picture into a scrap book. The handles and lock are made of heavy black felt or wool, I'm not ... morequite sure which and they are glued down and decorated with metallic beads to mimic the screws and bolts that would have been used in the real thing. There is a sticker on the outside of the trunk that appears to be the traveling papers from Florida Southern Railway. The interior is wallpapered in a cream and dusty blue pineapple striped pattern. There is a very old picture of two little girls smiling and eating over what looks like an old advertisement for cookies or crackers. The ad says"Compliments of" over the girl's heads.and"Henry Heide" below the can. The insert does come out of the trunk and there are two brackets inside to prevent the insert from going all the way to the bottom.just like a real steamer trunk! There is a slight curve to the lid of the trunk. But it does not completely close nor does it stand straight up when opened. It does stay open, but leans back a bit, as shown in the photos. It appears the lid was attached with some kind of heavy-duty cloth tape that has been painted over to match the wood. Maybe the paint dried and shrunk a bit, and now the lid won't close tight, I'm not sure, but it definitely doesn't take away f

Lot of 6 Vintage Coat Clothes Hangers Metal Wood Old Steamer Wardrobe Trunk

One of the metal ones is covered in fabric and one is wrapped with crochet/nylon loops. The nylon-wrapped one I think is from 1970’s and the rest are of unknown age. But some could be quite old because they all came from different locations(they are from estate sales) The two wooden ones and the cloth-wrapped metal one all have the ability to fold down the hook part. Which I think means they came from steamer wardrobe trunks. The wooden ones are the longest and measure 17” long. The one with the stitched-on fabric has stitches that are coming out and t he one wrapped in cloth has some holes in the fabric(see photos)

Doll Steamer Trunk- Vintage 14" tall Opened it is about 15 5/8" across. The closet portion is about 3" deep and has two wood hangers. The drawers each have a leather pull and are 7" across and 3 7/8" deep. Outside and top have different travel stickers attached. This particular case does not have a lock only the two hinged clasps. I do not see a manufacturer or distributor name though the hinged clasp looks like it may have an initial within a sunburst mark. Could just be a design and not mean anything.I don't know.
